Huawei has recently started rolling out OTA updates that converted the UI on several of its newer devices from EMUI to HarmonyOS. Now, a few leaksters have claimed that they have received the full upgrade to the proprietary operating system.

According to a NotebookCheck report, known Weibo tipsters including Changan Digital King and Digital Chat Station have claimed that they either heard of users receiving the major update of the HarmonyOS (AKA HongMengOS in China) or have received the new software themselves on their own devices. Similarly, a YouTube Channel CREATOR STUDIO has even posted a new video, which basically offers a walkthrough of what appears to be the new user interface on the Mate X2.

Looking at this video, the YouTuber claims that the foldable smartphone is running “HarmonyOS 2.0.0 Developer Beta 3.” Furthermore, the leaksters have also claimed that the update has been released to the end users as well. For those unaware, HarmonyOS is the Chinese tech giant’s in house OS that it claims was built from scratch from the ground up. Although, the numerous leaks that have surfaced recently reveal that its multiple homescreens, gesture based navigation, app icons and other interfaces resemble Android.

Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report at the moment, so take it with a pinch of salt. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for more information to surface before providing any concrete statements as well. It is possible that the company is rolling out the new update in China in a staggered manner, so we can expect more devices to soon be included. Thus, stay tuned for more updates.
