The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was announced as the company’s first-ever gaming-focused smartphone on Monday. As promised, its first sale was carried out today in China at 10 AM (local time). Few minutes after making it available for sale, the company took to Weibo to reveal that it sold over 100,000 units of the smartphone in a minute.

MyDrivers reported that the special Bruce Lee edition of the Redmi K40 Gaming phone was also on sale today. The device comes in a distinctive yellow color scheme and it offers users 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. Priced at 2,799 Yuan (~$339), it comes in a different package, including some special accessories.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is priced at 1,999 Yuan (~$309) for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition, and it costs 2,199 Yuan (~$340) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage version. The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants carry the same pricing of 2,399 Yuan (~$371). Its top model with 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage costs 2,699 Yuan (~$417).

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. It is backed by a 5,065mAh battery that supports 67W charging. It is fueled by the Dimensity 1200 chipset.

The other features that are available on the device include LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, JBL powered dual speakers, a massive VC liquid cooling system, an X-linear motor for in-game vibrations, and mechanical gaming shoulder buttons.

Rumors are rife that the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be rebranded as the POCO F3 GT in India.
