Ever since the launch of MIUI 12 for Xiaomi smartphones, there has been mixed feedback regarding the overall UI and its design. With major changes in the control center, it was bound to be an important part of the update where most of the bugs could appear.

MIUI 12 control center

Previously, several users reported that there was a bit of a lag while scrolling in the control center. It was primarily due to the heavy animations that are a part of MIUI 12. Taking the feedback into consideration, Xiaomi tried to fix the issue by pushing fresh updates where it removed the gaussian blur (one of the reasons behind the lag). But the problem wasn’t completely solved as some users still faced minor lags while opening the control center.

While the lag issue was being fixed, users are experiencing a new issue where the control center gets stuck. According to some users on the Xiaomi community, the latest update – MIUI 12.1.2 has two to three issues so far. First, a Mi 9T user experienced a control center glitch wherein it shifted to a low-bit colored display, and later, a user had his screen frozen while opening the control center.

In reply to one of these posts, a moderator from the Xiaomi community said that the issues have been known and have been reported by Xiaomi. That said, we can expect Xiaomi to roll out a new update in the future where most of the control center bugs could get fixed.
