Huawei announced new phones today but rather than abandon its older devices, it has announced a program that will allow users to hold on to them for longer. The Chinese manufacturer has launched a storage upgrade program for more than 30 phones.
Huawei says that starting this month, owners of the phone below will be able to take their device to an after-sales service center to have the storage capacity increased. The manufacturer is offering three storage upgrade options – 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The bigger storage combined with the update to HarmonyOS is expected to breathe new life into these devices. The service will have a starting price of ¥369 (~$57).
Below are the eligible devices for the upgrade program. The list has been divided into two, those that will be available to be upgraded starting this month and those that will be eligible for an upgrade between August and December:

- Huawei Mate 9 series
- Huawei Mate 10 series
- Huawei Mate RS
- Huawei Mate 20 series
- Huawei Mate 30 series
- Huawei P10 series
- Huawei P20 series
- Huawei P30 series
August – December
- Huawei Nova 2s
- Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i
- Huawei Nova 4
- Huawei Nova 5 series
- Huawei Nova 6 series
- Huawei Nova 7 series
- Huawei Enjoy 10 series
All of the aforementioned devices are eligible for the HarmonyOS upgrade, although, some of them won’t receive the update until next year.
