Wuling Air EV enters the global turf with unveiling in Indonesia

Chinese EV brand Wuling is stepping up its acts by entering the global market. The company is the culmination of a partnership between SGMW and General Motors. It has just unveiled the Air EV in Indonesia, marking its first foray outside China.

Within the past five years, Wuling has grown in prominence in the Chinese EV market. It has sold over 1 million units of its EVs in China since 2017. The company also has plans to deliver the Air EV in other markets like India and Egypt later this year. Going forward, Wuling plans to expand to other global markets.

During the unveiling of the Air EV in Indonesia, Wuling showcased its success in China which is now spreading to other countries. The Air EV was also endorsed as the official car of the G20 Summit. The Wuling Air EV is a 2-door electric vehicle designed primarily for city driving. It is being showcased for its easy operability and low upfront cost. It has a single 40HP electric motor and a range of 186 miles. The Air EV has had a very successful run in China. Wuling says it offers a superior-quality travel experience and reflects Wuling’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

There are no indications yet when the first deliveries of the Air EV will be made to Indonesian customers. The global price of the Air EV is also expected to be different from its China price.

Xiaomi today held a launch event where a number of products were announced, the top of which is the Mix Fold 2. The company also announced a new generation of flagship TWS earphones – Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro.

The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro adopts a space capsule design, which is more rounded than the previous generation. The headphone handle is brightly treated, and it is available in two color options – gold and black, of which the gold color option gives a noble and elegant feeling.

The earbuds are fixed to the charging case by magnetic absorption, so there is no need to worry about accidental falling. At the same time, after opening the cover, the earphones are exposed as a whole, which is easy to take.

Perhaps, the most outstanding feature of the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro is that it supports adaptive dynamic noise reduction, with a noise reduction depth of 48dB and a noise reduction width of up to 4000Hz. It also supports 3 levels of adaptive automatic adjustment, which can automatically identify the environment and intelligently adjust the noise reduction depth, as well as choose the most suitable noise reduction mode to ensure comfort.

What’s more convenient is that the headset also supports six levels of manual adjustment. The wearer can balance the noise reduction level and ear pressure according to usage habits. At the same time, the headset can also adjust the three-stop transparency mode of standard, vocal enhancement, and environment enhancement to meet the needs of different scenarios.

Thanks to the unique physical structure and Xiaomi’s self-developed anti-wind noise algorithm, Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro would shield users from wind noise during sporting activities, cycling, and other scenarios. The headset also adds intelligent classification detection of wind noise and enters a silent state under no wind conditions to reduce power consumption.

In terms of call experience, the headset uses the built-in 3mic+ bone voiceprint noise reduction for calls, which can provide a better signal-to-noise ratio and better vocal capture effect.

As for sound quality, Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro is equipped with a custom 11mm large-amplitude moving coil unit and supports 96kHz high-definition audio as well as SBC, AAC, and LHDC 4.0 audio codecs. The earbuds also support independent spatial audio, which can be used on other Bluetooth devices after it is turned on.

The Buds 4 Pro is designed to provide up to 9 hours of playback while with the charging case, the usage time can be extended to 38 hours with the charging case. The earbuds also support fast charging and can be fully charged in just 30 minutes.

The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro is priced at 1,099 yuan (~$163) but has a starting price of 999 yuan (~$148). The wearable device is now available in China.

Xiaomi announced a bunch of new products at today’s event and to be honest they were all pretty cool. However, what impressed us the most is Xiaomi’s first full-size humanoid robot called CyberOne. Of course, this is not the first time the Chinese tech giant has launched a robotic product. The company previously unveiled a CyberDog, which, as the name suggests, is inspired by our furry friend.

As per the company, CyberOne is a full-scale humanoid bionic robot that is 177cm tall and weighs 52kg. It has been nicknamed “Metal bro” and somehow it also has been given a zodiac sign, Leo. The robot’s face is made of a curved OLED panel and it can see the world in 3D. For hearing, it has two microphones.

It is equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed whole-body control algorithm, which can coordinate the movement of 21 joints. Further, the humanoid robot can interpret 45 human semantic emotions and distinguish 85 environmental semantics. The robot is claimed to learn new skills each day.

The CyberOne humanoid robot, according to Xiaomi, combines sophisticated mechatronics and artificial intelligence created by the company’s specialized Robot Labs. The company claims that significant resources and labor were used to build the CyberOne.

CyberOne is just a first-gen product and most of its aspects are still in the development stage. It’s still no on far with the robots of Boston Dynamics. However, the robot has definitely beaten Tesla’s humanoid prototype.

Robots still feel like a fragment of a dystopian dream but the recent innovations in the field suggest that the future is going to be full of automated gadgets and robots. Like it or not, Robots will become a part of daily lives very soon.

Xiaomi’s CyberOne Robot would cost somewhere in the range of 600,000 to 700,000 yuan (about $89,100 to $104,000) and it’s not commercialized yet.

The latest tablet is a lot different from the Pad 5 Pro launched last year. It comes with a Snapdragon 870 Soc, a 12.4-inch 2.5K resolution LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a massive 10,000mAh battery. Let’s have a look at all the details.

Design and Display

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4-inch is carrying a lot of changes in terms of design and appearance. The company has trimmed down the bezels. However, it continues to retain the previous four sides of the full-screen equal-width approach on the front.

The back of the device is a different story. The camera module on the device has been redesigned and it now looks identical to the Xiaomi 12 Series phones. Talking about the display, the tablet comes with a 12.4-inch LCD panel that offers a 2.5K resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. After teasing for days, Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi K50 Ultra in China. The latest smartphone in the Redmi K50 series looks somewhat similar to the Xiaomi 12/12S lineup. Also, it comes with some interesting specs. Let’s take a look at all of its features along with pricing and availability.

Redmi K50 Ultra Specifications

The Redmi K50 Ultra flaunts a 6.7-inch centered punch-hole 12-bit OLED display supplied by China’s TCL CSOT and Tianma. This panel offers a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, 446 PPI, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1920Hz PWM dimming.

The screen supports Dolby Vision, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, and Adaptive HDR. The SGS low fatigue-certified display also has a hardware-level low blue light mode.

Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro has launched in China today. It has arrived alongside a bunch of other devices including the MIX Fold 2, Pad 5 Pro 12.4, Buds 4 Pro TWS and Redmi K50 Extreme Edition. The latest smartwatch is an upgraded variant of the Watch S1 that debuted in December last year. Read on to know what it offers out of the box.

The Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro sports a 46mm circular dial and a stainless steel unibody. It has a digital crown and a nearly invisible button on the right side of the device. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has launched in China today. The brand has also unveiled a host of other devices including the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, Pad 5 Pro 12.4, Watch S1 Pro, and Buds 4 Pro. The Mix Fold 2 is the company’s second-generation foldable smartphone. It arrives as the successor to the Mix Fold that debuted last year. Xiaomi’s latest foldable offering competes against the likes of the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, OPPO Find N, Vivo Fold X, and others in the market.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 specifications and features

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 comes with a different rear panel design compared to its predecessor. It has a horizontal camera module housing Leica branded three sensors. The setup comprises a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto unit with 2x zoom. The device is capable of recording 8K videos and also supports Dolby Vision HDR format recording. The foldable smartphone has a volume rocker and power buttons on the right side. The latter also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner manufactured by Goodix.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a thickness of 5.4mm when unfolded. When folded, it measures 11.2mm. The device weighs around 262 grams.

The interior display also features ultra-thin glass and an under-display camera. Both the interior and outer displays support Dolby Vision, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and TrueColour.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It packs 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The foldable smartphone is backed by a 4,500mAh battery unit with support for 67W fast charging. Software-wise, it runs on MIUI 13-based Android 12 out of the box.

Xiaomi has launched a new washing machine in China with a unique double-decker design. The MIJIA Partition Washing and Drying machine has a lower and upper double cylinder design that allows for multiple washing and drying tasks simultaneously. Xiaomi is promoting the MIJIA Partition Washing and Drying machine 15kg as a perfect home cleaning appliance. It has an overall capacity of 15kg with the smaller upper drum having 5kg, while the lower drum takes 10kg.

The new MIJIA washing and drying machine enables you to separate baby clothes from the general laundry and wash both simultaneously. The company says the design of the gadget engenders both efficiency and health. The upper cylinder is designed for washing more delicate clothing like baby wears, underwear, wool, and silk. The benign washing mechanism ensures that the clothes are clean and their quality is maintained.

The MIJIA washing and drying machine supports 7kg drying. The larger 10kg lower cylinder can wash a variety of clothes including bed sheets, adult clothing, and thicker materials. The washing machine has a three-way special agent used for washing delicate clothes. Both cylinders of the machine are powered by dual direct drive motors. The motors are efficient and accurate, with a low noise rating of 48dB. The drying mechanism is driven by the BLDC variable frequency drying fan with intelligent wind and temperature control. The BLDC cleaning pump guarantees cleaning power during the drying process.

The machine comes with displays, one for the washing section and another for the dryer. It can be integrated into the smart home ecosystem, as the MIJIA App can send real-time messages on tasks, as well as the Xiao AI audio voice reminders and music. Availability of the MIJIA Partition Washing and Drying machine 15kg is limited to China for now. It is scheduled to launch on August 11 and is priced at 5,999 yuan (~$892).

Vivo V25 series confirmed to launch in India on August 17th, Flipkart and offline availability also revealed

Vivo V25 series launch date in India has been announced. The lineup will consist of standard and Pro models. As previously rumoured, the Vivo V25 series is set to debut in the country on August 17th i.e. Wednesday at 12 pm. The upcoming offering is also confirmed to be available from Flipkart, Vivo.com, and offline stores around the country. The Vivo V25 series will arrive as the successor to the V23 series.

Ahead of the launch, Vivo has been teasing key specifications and features of the V25 Pro model. On the display front, it will feature a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout with a 3D curved screen and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will come with a rectangular camera module and a colour-changing Fluorite AG glass back panel. In a Twitter teaser, the technology is seen changing the colour of the back panel from Turquiose to Blue when exposed to sunlight.

The Vivo V25 Pro is confirmed to sport a triple rear camera setup comprising a 64MP main sensor with OIS support. It will also pack features like hybrid image stabilisation, super night mode, bokeh flare portrait etc.

Under the hood, the Vivo V25 Pro is confirmed to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor. It will pack 8GB of extendable virtual RAM technology. The smartphone will draw its power from a 4,830mAh battery unit with support for 66W fast charging.

Vivo hasn’t teased the regular V25 variant but it is expected to have a similar design as the V25 Pro and come in Gold colour. The device will reportedly be powered by a Dimensity 900 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

A new report has revealed that iQOO is planning on launching a new Z6 model. Apparently, this upcoming device will feature certain improvements over the original Z6 smartphone, especially in terms of fast charging rate.

According to a CNMO report, the Chinese smartphone maker is planning on launching a new configuration of the iQOO Z6 model. In other words, it is still unclear if the new smartphone is a new Z6 series model or just a new refreshed version of the base Z6 phone. For those unaware, the older Z6 model that launched earlier this year featured 44W fast charging support and a 6.44 inch AMOLED display.

But as per the report, the new Z6 model will feature a higher 80W fast charging support. Unfortunately, the company will reportedly downgrade the display to an LCD panel, but with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. Apart from this, the new rumor also states that the handset will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series mobile chipset. Notably, the original iQOO Z6 model featured the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor that was paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

So we can also expect this new Z6 model to feature similar RAM and internal storage configurations. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report at the moment, so take this news with a pinch of salt. Over the last couple of weeks, we have reported on Vivo gearing up to launch its new V25 series of smartphones soon. Now, prior to its official announcement, a new leak has revealed the design of the base V25 5G model.

The news arrives from a UMA Technology report, with the source being known tipster Paras Guglani. In the report, a number of pictures were shared, which revealed the rear design of the upcoming Vivo V25 model. Looking at these images, we can see that the base model within the upcoming lineup has a flat rear panel design with slightly curved corners. Furthermore, the smartphone launch with at least one model being a Gold color option.

On the rear, we can observe a triple camera module, with the bump even including an LED flash as well. Unfortunately, this is all the information that was revealed through the latest leak. However, based on our previous reports, we know that the device will likely be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC under the hood. A previous Geekbench listing also confirmed that at least one storage configuration includes 8GB RAM.

Although, we can also expect a 12GB + 256GB model to be announced as well. The smartphone runs on Android 12 OS based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box, but finer details regarding its other features is still unknown. The Moto G62 5G is available in two configurations – 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, which is priced at Rs 17,999 (~$227), and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage which has a price tag of 19,999 (~$252). It comes in two color options namely Midnight Grey and Frosted Blue and will be available for purchase through Flipkart starting August 19th.

Customers using an HDFC bank credit card can avail up to ₹1750 off on EMI transactions and up to ₹1500 off on non-EMI purchase of the smartphone.

After teasing for days, Motorola has finally launched the Moto S30 Pro in China. The latest upper mid-range smartphone from the Lenovo-owned brand was announced alongside the Moto Razr 2022 and Moto X30 Pro. For the unaware, the event was initially scheduled for August 2 but it got postponed to today.

Motorola Moto S30 Pro Specifications

The Motorola Moto S30 features a metal frame with either a layer of Corning Gorilla 6 on its back or a leather finish. It measures around 7.45mm in thickness and weighs about 167.

The device flaunts a 6.55-inch centered punch-hole 10-bit curved OLED display with FHD+ resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, and 360Hz touch sampling. There’s support for HDR10+, DCI-P3 color gamut, DC dimming, and SGS-certified low blue light mode.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and VC liquid cooling system. It boots MyUI based on Android 12 and supports Ready For 3.5.

It houses a triple camera system on the rear comprising a 50MP OmniVision OV50A primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide unit with auto-focus for macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

The handset arrives with dual stereo species and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Last but not least, it is backed by a 4,270mAh battery with support for 68W fast wired charging.

OnePlus 10T 5G 16GB RAM variant goes on sale in India on August 16

OnePlus had recently announced the OnePlus 10T 5G smartphone model for the Indian market. It was the company’s second flagship entry for this year and was announced in an 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM variants. And now, we have information regarding the upcoming launch of the 16GB version for this phone.

Previously, the OnePlus 10T went on sale starting on August 6. However, the sale only included 8GB and 12GB versions. On the other hand, it was announced that the 16GB + 256GB model will be available at a later date. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced the launch date for this top end model. Earlier today (11th August 2022), the company confirmed that this model will go on sale in India on August 16.

Apart from the high memory, the other internal specifications of the 16GB model is identical to the other two variants. It sports a 6.7 inch 120Hz OLED display on the front, while the rear packs a 50 megapixel triple camera setup. Under the hood, the device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and is powered by a 4,800mAh battery pack that supports an impressive 150W fast charging.

Notably, the top end version will only arrive in the Moonstone Black color option. Furthermore, it will be available in the region for a price tag of 55,999 INR (roughly 705 US Dollars). After the launch of Snapchat+ in regions like America and Europe, the company has now launched the subscription service in India.

For just Rs. 49 per month, Snapchat users in India can now get access to the special features as well as the experimental features of Snapchat.

Users who subscribe to Snapchat+ gain access to six more features, such as the ability to change the app icon and track how many people are rewatching their stories. Snapchat+ users can now follow Ghost Trails on Snap Map to follow friends’ approximate directions if they have given their permission to share their whereabouts. Additionally, users can also add someone to their profile as their best friend.

Previously, in late June, Snap introduced the $3.99 Snapchat+ membership service in a number of nations, including the US, the UK, and Canada.

Motorola just held its highly anticipated launch event, which was delayed back on August 2. During this conference, the company announced three new smartphone models, which also included the latest flagship model, the Moto X30 Pro. So let’s have a look at its specs, features, and pricing.

Design & Display

Even prior to its official announcement, the Moto X30 Pro model had its entire design revealed. It arrives with a curved edge on either sides of the rear panel, which also houses a large camera module that features the three image sensors. Meanwhile, the front has a center aligned punch hole camera. The right side of the Edge X30 has a power button and a volume rocker while the bottom has a USB Type C port, a speaker grill, and the SIM slot.

On the front, the device sports a 6.73 inch pOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz high refresh rate. Notably, this panel also has curved edges on the sides, which isn’t common nowadays. It also is equipped with an in display fingerprint scanner for security. This panel is surrounded by minimal bezels on all sides.

Specifications

Under the hood, the new flagship smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This chipset is based on the advanced 4nm process that is manufactured by TSMC and it offers various improvements over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

This processor is also paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone also packs a 4,500mAh battery pack that supports 125W fast charging support. Through this, the device can charge up to 50 percent in just 7 minutes and a 100 percent charge in 19 minutes. It even supports 50W wireless fast charging as well.

Camera

Motorola has placed an emphasis on the camera for the Moto X30 Pro. It is the world’s first smartphone that features a 200 megapixel camera sensor. The rear packs a triple camera setup on the rear, with the primary sensor being a Samsung ISOCELL HP1 200 megapixel camera that has a 1/1.22 inch size. This camera also features an all new Chameleon Cell technology, a pixel binning technology that uses a two by two, four by four, or full pixel layout depending on the environment.

The X30 Pro brings a full RAW domain primary color vision and native support for all camera sensors as well. The sensor can even take videos at 8K resolution at 30fps with minimal loss of field in view. Talking about the other two sensors, the first is a 50 megapixel ultra wide angle lens that is paired with a 12 megapixel telephoto shooter. Meanwhile, the front packs a 60 megapixel selfie camera.

Pricing

The Motorola X30 Pro is a premium grade handset that does not break the bank. It starts from 3,699 Yuan (roughly 549 US Dollars) for its base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The higher end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs 4,199 Yuan (roughly 623 US Dollars) while the top end 12GB + 512GB model costs 4,499 Yuan (roughly 668 US Dollars). Interestingly, the company will offer the smartphone for an introductory price tag that is 200 Yuan cheaper for every storage configuration. It is currently unclear when the device will go on sale, so stay tuned.

Motorola held a mega launch event today in China to announce three flagship phones, namely the Moto Razr 2022, the Moto X30 Pro, and the Moto S30 Pro. To recall, the predecessor Razr models were powered by the Snapdragon 7-series chipset. The newly unveiled Razr 2022 is a flagship device featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The new Razr also has a foldable 144Hz P-OLED display, a secondary screen, two 50-megapixel cameras on the back, and a large battery that can be charged quickly.

Moto Razr 2022 design

The Motorola Razr 2019 and the Razr 5G featured a display notch, a large chin, and a single rear camera. The Razr 2022 offers a refreshed design as it features a punch-hole design for its inner foldable screen. The device’s chin has been trimmed down a lot, and it has a dual-camera setup on the back.

Like the predecessor models, the Razr 2022 continues to feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The slimmer and more durable hinge of the device allows users to fold it at different angles.

Moto Razr 2022 specifications and features

The Moto Razr 2022 features a 6.7-inch foldable P-OLED panel with a punch-hole design. The screen supports an FHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colors, HDR10+, and DC dimming. The back panel of the device features a 2.7-inch P-OLED display. The secondary screen can be used as a viewfinder for rear cameras, to check for messages, or even to play games.

Above the secondary display is a horizontal dual-camera setup, which is headlined by an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel camera. It is assisted by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, which can also function as a macro snapper. The display punch-hole houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset is present under the hood of the Moto Razr 2022. The device offers up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device boots to the Android 12 OS, which is overlaid with MyUI 4.0. The device comes with support for Ready For 3.5, which allows users to connect it to an external to take advantage of a full-blown desktop PC experience.

The Moto Razr 2022 is backed by a 3,500mAh battery that carries support for 33W fast charging. The device offers connectivity features such as dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C port.

The Poco M4 5G made its debut in India at the end of April. It went on sale in the country starting in early May. Three months later, the brand has now confirmed to introduce this phone in other international markets.
