Google is rumored to be working on its first foldable smartphone, which is expected to go official sometime this year. Ahead of the launch of this new upcoming smartphone, some of the key details have surfaced online.
In the latest report, it is being claimed that the foldable smartphone from Google, which could be named Pixel Fold or Pixel Notepad, will be manufactured by Foxconn. For those who are unaware, Foxconn is also a contract manufacturer of the Apple iPhone.
This won’t be the first time Google partners with Foxconn to manufacture smartphones as Foxconn is already making high-end Pixel smartphones.
The report further adds that Google is planning to launch two flagship smartphones in the market this year. One of them will be a foldable smartphone named Pixel Notepad, while the other will be a high-end Pixel smartphone.
Google Pixel Notepad is said to have a form factor similar to the Oppo Find N, meaning it will most likely have a square design when unfolded. It is rumored to feature a 5.8-inch display and will be powered by the company’s Tensor chipset.
As for the pricing, it was previously revealed that the search engine giant is targeting $1,399 price point for the foldable smartphone, which is significantly lower pricing compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
The flagship Pixel series smartphones from Google typically sell about five million to seven million units annually. Based on that, the market estimates that the foldable smartphone from Google could sell about three million units in a year.

The upcoming iPhone 14 series from Apple, which is expected to launch in September, could be delayed. A recent report claims that the ongoing political tension between China and Taiwan may cause Apple to postpone the release of the iPhone 14 series.
Everything started when Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, paid a visit to Taiwan, which China did not like. For those wondering how these elevated political tensions affect the iPhone 14 series launch, Apple outsources the manufacturing of its chipsets to the Taiwanese semiconductor giant TSMC. At the same time, China is the primary location of Apple’s component suppliers for the iPhone.
Apple has reportedly urged its Taiwanese suppliers to adhere to China’s new rules, prohibiting labeling products as “made in Taiwan, China” or “Chinese Taipai.”
Supply shipments from Taiwan to the Pegatron factory in Suzhou, China, which manufactures various products for American companies like Microsoft and Taiwan, have already been halted by China. These shipments are being held up by customs as they check the shipping documentation for any mention of Taiwan or its official “Republic of China” designation.
During her tour to Taiwan, Pelosi was photographed with Pegatron Vice Chairman Jason Chen and other business leaders from the chip industry. A trade war could result from the existing tension and impede the production of the upcoming iPhone before its release.
Google did something unique with the design of the Pixel 6 series. The phones looked like no other from the back. The visor-like camera bar isn’t just aesthetic, but it also gives the Pixel series a new identity. However, it seems Google is going to do more with its phone’s design. As per a popular tipster, big G might be working on a new Pixel smartphone made from ceramic materials.
According to popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Google is joining hands with Foxconn, the company that also manufactures the iPhone, to build a mysterious Pixel flagship and the long-rumored Pixel foldable phone in China (via 9to5Google).
This comes as a surprise because back in 2020, Google moved its manufacturing operations from China to Vietnam. But what’s more interesting is the tipster’s claim that the unnamed Pixel device in the works will be clad in ceramic materials.
Google has already used plastic, glass, and metal in the phones, but it has never tried its hands on ceramic. So, if the tipster’s claims are anything to go by, we might soon be seeing the first Pixel smartphone with ceramics.
Google Pixel 7 Series
Details about the ceramic Pixel are pretty short, of course. But the tipster suggests it will feature a 2K display with a center punch-hole for the selfie camera. It will be powered by the Tensor 2 chipset which also be found in the upcoming Pixel 7 smartphones.
Further, the device is said to have a 50MP camera and a periscope lens. The tipster also mentions a Sony IMX787 64 MP sensor which would be used for the telephoto camera. It will be interesting to see how this alleged ceramic Pixel will compete against the iPhones and Galaxy S22 Ultras of the world.
Realme has an affordable C- series of smartphones in India. The lineup includes Realme C30, C31, C35, and a bunch of other smartphones. The most recent addition to the series is the Realme C35 which comes with a decent UNISOC processor, IPS LCD panel, 5000mAh battery, and more. Now, a new report suggests that the company might be working on another C-series smartphone called Realme C33 and it may launch very soon.
Appuals, citing sources, claims that an affordable Realme smartphone dubbed Realme C33 may soon make a debut in the Indian market. It is said to be an entry-level device that could be available in three color and storage options.
Realme C35
As per the publication, the device may come in Sandy Gold, Aqua Blue, and Night Sea color variants. In addition, it may come in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage base model, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage mid-tier model, and a top-of-the-line 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variant.
Details about the device’s specifications are still short. However, judging from the moniker and expected storage configurations, the device may carry features similar to its brothers in the series. We can expect it to feature an IPS LCD panel of around 6.6-inch size. It is likely not a performance-oriented phone and may feature a Unisoc processor.
Talking about the cameras, it will likely feature a triple rear camera setup because that’s what the phone industry is into these days. On the software front, it may run Realme UI R Edition, which is based on Android-11 and is optimized for budget smartphones.
Realme C33 will likely be priced under Rs. 14,000 (roughly $177). There has been no official word from Realme about the smartphone so take all these speculations with a pinch of salt. We expect more information to surface online very soon.

It offers up to 300 nits of brightness and the display is protected by a 7.8mm chassis made from durable metal materials. There is currently a raft of affordable Android tablets with decent features in the market. The new Teclast tablet, however, comes pretty cheap. Its extended features and durability could possibly endear the P30 Air to the market.
Chipmaker Qualcomm has had a strong performance amidst the global chip crisis and the corona virus pandemic. The company unveiled two premium chips that are highly sought out among OEMs. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chips are top-end high-performance SoCs. Riding on the crest of its strong showing, Qualcomm has announced a new sponsorship deal with English club Manchester United. The company says it is a multi-year global strategic collaboration with one of the most popular football clubs in the world. The new arrangement will further help to establish the Snapdragon chipset lineup.
At the moment, Qualcomm is neither directly manufacturing any smartphone nor retailing direct products to consumers. It is also unlikely that the company will delve into phone production at the moment. It is therefore unclear what the specifics of the new sponsorship entail. Qualcomm will hope to leverage the wide global followership of the Manchester United brand to further market its chips. This strategic partnership could further establish the Snapdragon brand, although it seems to be ahead of any other competition with the top-notch Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Qualcomm says that the new strategic collaboration will create unique events and experiences for fans at Old Trafford and across the globe. The collaboration will also see Qualcomm providing technical support for the club’s planned improvements to mobile connectivity at Old Trafford. This could afford the deployment of Snapdragon platforms to enable ground-breaking experiences for Manchester United fans around the world. So, we might see some Snapdragon branding within Manchester United from this season onwards.

Although the upcoming smartwatches have not yet been officially teased nor have their design formally revealed by Samsung yet, we already know all the details about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series via electronics safety certification databases and leaks online. In today’s article, here at Gizmochina, we have gathered all the info, pricing, specs and design renders that are available online so far.
Galaxy Watch 5 Series Design and Specs
Let’s start with the design, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro sport a circular screen form factor like its predecessor the Galaxy Watch 4, however this year, both the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro will not feature the rotating bezel found on the previous generation Galaxy Watch 3 Classic and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

Colours for the Galaxy Watch 5 series can be described as suited for those who are sporting a youthful and active lifestyle. For the standard model, leaked official renders online show that the Galaxy Watch 5 will be available in four colours: Gold, Purple, Navy Green and Blue.
For the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, it is said to be available in more muted yet professional colours such as black or gray titanium. And this time around, leaks indicate that Samsung will be equipping its higher end Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with a Sapphire glass front display with a titanium built body.

As flagship smartwatches, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series are expected to arrive with exceptional durability standards as well such as an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810G for salt, shock and radiation protection.
Under the hood, we expect the Galaxy Watch 5 series to sport similar internals to the Galaxy Watch 4 series. For context, the Galaxy Watch 4 featured Samsung’s industry-leading Exynos W920 smartwatch SoC, with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
Endurance on the hand, both the Watch 5 and 5 Pro are said to have better battery life than its predecessor. The Galaxy Watch 5 will be available with a 276 mAh for the 40mm model or a 398mAh battery for the 44mm model. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is said to offer a massive upgrade in the battery department, coming in at a 572mAh battery capacity. Notably, Samsung is also said to offer 10W fast charging support on the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which is nearly double of what’s currently offered by the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Lastly, both watches will run Google’s latest wearOS 3.5 skinned with Samsung’s One UI Watch 4.5.
