The display of 6.56 inches has an IPS LCD screen type and provides a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels while the pixel density is 269 PPI (pixels per inch). Honor Play 40C is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus Octa-core processor and Adreno 619 GPU.

The smartphone is packed with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The sensors include side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, and compass. The device is fueled with Li-Po 5200 mAh battery and comes in four colors: Magic Night Black, Ink Jade Green, Sky Blue. It supports Dual SIM and the dimension of the device is 163.3 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm while it weighs 188 grams.

The device runs on the Android 13 + Magic UI operating system. The device features 13 MP (wide) + 2 MP (depth) camera on the rear side along with LED flash. On the front, there is a single camera: 5 MP. It features Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, loudspeaker and Type-C 2.0, USB On-The-Go.
