The smartphone features a dual camera on the rear side that consists of 13 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (depth) while on the front there is an 8 MP (wide) selfie camera. The device is fueled with a non-removable Li-Po 5000 battery.

The device runs on the Android v9.0 (Pie) + Funtouch OS operating system. Vivo Y12 (4G) features GPS, a 3.5 mm headphone Jack, a loudspeaker, and sensors such as side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. The dimension of the device is 159.43 x 76.77 x 8.92 mm and it weighs 190.5 grams. It also features IP54, dust and splash-resistant.
