The smartwatch features a 1.48-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 × 480 pixels. The screen delivers around 323 ppi density and reaches up to 2500 nits peak brightness. Drop-proof glass protection is included, helping improve durability during daily use. Xiaomi Watch S5 runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and offers support for eSIM functionality in selected markets.

The watch includes a built-in loudspeaker, Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, and WLAN support for file transfers. Positioning support includes GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, and QZSS for accurate location tracking. Health and fitness features include heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, accelerometer, gyro, compass, and barometer sensors.

NFC support is available depending on the region, while 5ATM water resistance protects during swimming and workouts. There is no camera, USB port, or 3.5mm headphone jack. The watch is built using a glass front and stainless steel frame. Depending on the version, it features stainless steel, ceramic, or forged carbon bezels.

The body measures 46 × 46 × 11 mm and weighs 46 g, making it relatively compact for everyday wear. An 815mAh Li-Po battery powers the smartwatch for extended usage between charges. Connectivity relies primarily on Bluetooth and supported wireless features without requiring physical ports. Color options include Black, Silver, Ceramic Blue, Jungle Green, and Beige for the eSIM variant.
