Apple has launched its new 2024 iPad Pro with the M4 chip. However, the company has also managed to create a significant controversy with an ad for the new product. The commercial was likely aimed at showcasing the blend of thinness and ability to function as a replacement for a number of musical instruments, paints, books, cameras, and other tools.

Nonetheless, Apple crushed all the instruments and tools with a giant hydraulic machine to reveal their latest, most powerful, and thinnest iPad Pro. This “Crush!” ad made a lot of people upset, to whom, it had a second meaning of how a tech giant sees artists and creative people. The commercial also caught Samsung’s attention.

Samsung showcases its offering with a different perspective saying “creativity can never be crushed”

Now Samsung has created another commercial as a response that says “Creativity cannot be crushed”. Samsung has also showcased its Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, but in a way that does not destroy or replace the instruments and tools, but helps people to make the most out of them. Samsung’s version of involvement of technology into art and creativity definitely has a lot of respect for traditional tools.

Samsung recreated the aftermath of Apple’s “Crush!” ad. A person picked up a partially destroyed guitar and started playing it. A Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra was shown off with musical notes on the display.

Notably, Apple quickly apologized for the ad before Samsung completed readying its response commercial. Apple’s apology said that the ad “missed the mark” with the video. The company also scrapped its plans for the TV campaign. Apple’s VP of marketing communications noted, “Creativity is in our DNA at Apple, and it’s incredibly important to us to design products that empower creatives all over the world. Our goal is to always celebrate the myriad of ways users express themselves and bring their ideas to life through the iPad. We missed the mark with this video, and we’re sorry.”

Following Apple‘s latest product showcase, Caviar, a company known for its ultra-luxury custom electronics, has unveiled the “Criss-Cross.” This limited-edition iPad Pro 2024 boasts a design inspired by Marvel’s Deadpool.

Caviar specializes in transforming everyday tech into collector’s items using premium materials and intricate craftsmanship. The design of the Criss-Cross incorporates several luxurious elements.

The centerpiece of the design is a three-dimensional bas-relief of Deadpool’s signature weapons, two Desert Eagle Mark XIX pistols, forming an “X” on the back of the iPad. These decorative guns are crafted from aviation-grade titanium and embedded within a titanium casing with a PVD coating, a process typically used in high-end Swiss timepieces.

The composition is further accentuated by blades made of black, hardened titanium, drawing inspiration from Wolverine, another iconic Marvel character slated to appear alongside Deadpool in an upcoming movie release. Red accents across the case are made from a composite element used to create custom Desert Eagle grips, adding a subtle touch that complements the overall theme.

Pricing and Availability

Only 99 units of the Criss-Cross will be produced, ensuring exclusivity for collectors and tech enthusiasts. The iPad will be available in both 11-inch and 13-inch variants, with options for Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.

Storage options range from 256GB to 2TB, catering to users with varying needs. The price starts at $12,200 for the 11-inch Wi-Fi model and reaches $12,630 for the 13-inch Wi-Fi and cellular variant.

But here’s the scoop: Apple has stopped selling the 2022 iPad Pro models. However, they might still be available through third-party retailers or as refurbished options for even lower prices now making it a more appealing deal.

Display

The big improvement in this year’s Pro iPads comes down to the display. The 2022 iPad Pro already had a great Liquid Retina XDR display with mini-LED technology, delivering excellent contrast and brightness.

Apple Pencil Pro and Functionality

Both iPad Pro generations support the Apple Pencil, but the 2024 model supports the new Apple Pencil Pro. 

The new stylus has some cool features: a squeeze sensor that lets you activate menus and palettes, and a gyroscope that allows you to rotate the Pencil (like rolling a barrel) to control things like brush size or video playback.

The 1 TB and 2 TB variants also come in nano-texture display glass options for reduced glare. When it comes to battery life, the 11-inch model houses a 31.29Whr battery, and the 13-inch model packs a larger 38.99Whr capacity. The retail package of the device includes a 20W USB-C charger.

2024 iPad Pro price

In the US, the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi only) models start at $999 and $1,299, respectively. Their cellular variants cost an additional $200. The nano-texture glass variants cost $100 more.

In Europe, the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi only) editions start at 1,199 euros and 1,449 euros, respectively. For 5G, buyers need to spend an additional 250 euros and 130 euros more for the nano-texture glass.

In India, the Wi-Fi models start at Rs 99,900 and Rs 1,29,900, respectively. Their 5G versions cost Rs 20,00 more. The nano-texture glass variants cost Rs 10,000 more.

The iPad Pro comes in Space Black and Silver color options. Its shipments are slated to begin on May 15 in most countries.
