Eventually, Verizon stopped supporting the 3G CDMA network. Verizon delayed the termination of its 3G network until 2022 although it was originally scheduled to do so in the year 2019. We want to make sure that the impacted customers are informed of what this means for their Verizon service and what they can do to update their device(s) to stay connected, on our 4G LTE and/or 5G network, as we are now very near to finishing our decommissioning operations.“

Customers who still use 3G technology will be actively encouraged to upgrade right now. Verizon’s service centres will only be able to provide very limited troubleshooting assistance on these older devices as the shut-off date draws nearer, and users still using the 3G network may face a decrease or loss of service. You should probably now switch to an LTE or 5G network. It’s finally time to say Goodbye to your old 3G-only device.
