ARM has just announced the new Cortex-X2, A710, and A510 CPUs along with new Mali GPUs. These new processors arrive as the company seeks to shift to 64 bit only architecture by the year 2023. This also marks the company moving forward with the ARMv9 from the older ARMv8.

With the new architecture, the company is planning on moving to 64 bit exclusively by 2023. Furthermore, the firm will also be working with its partners to ensure that the new ecosystem is ready to also discontinue support for 32 bit apps, which it expects to complete by the end of this year. As per official notes, the new CPU and GPU designs will be featured in upcoming chipsets along with new support hardware to group them all together for various configurations that will be used from smartphones, laptops, smartphones, and other products as well.

The Cortex-X2 is the 2nd generation of the latest high performance ARM cores and promises a 16 percent speed boost over an X1 core, which was also built on the same node and ran on a similar frequency. While the new design has just been announced, chips that feature the Cortex-X2 are expected to hit the market by next year. Furthermore, ARM has also optimized the X2’s peak performance and has doubled its machine learning performance while its single threaded performance has also risen by about 40 percent compared to a 15W Intel i5-1135G7.

Similarly, the company also unveiled new designs for its big cores of the A series. Although, as the company has launched the new X core, the new A series has been moved to a more mid range position. However, the the A710 still manages to offer 10 percent improvement over the A78 (again on the same node and frequency) alongside 30 percent better energy efficiency. While this seems lackluster in comparison to the higher end design, the company adds that the A710 paired with the Mali-G710 GPU will see a 33 percent boost in CPU performance and 20 percent improvement in GPU performance in gaming workloads.

This chipset will also be 15 percent more efficient compared to the older A78 and G78 based chipsets, which implies a major generational improvement. Furthermore, the company also unveiled a new design for its little cores too, with the Cortex-A510 as well. It arrives with a 35 percent faster than the older A55 designs and offers about 20 percent better energy efficiency along with 3x machine learning performance as well. This makes it close in performance to the older big A cores, which is an improvement for mid range smartphones.

Lenovo unveiled new slate to market and this could prove to be a gem in the crown, named TAB S8. Company claims that TAB S8 is for consumers who are looking for a stylish, slim and affordable Android tablet starting at just $199.

This tab offers a 8-inches 1920×1200 resolution display  which is said to be sharper than FHD. It is equipped with  a front 1.6-megapixel HD camera and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The Lenovo TAB S8 marks Lenovo’s first 8-inch Android tablet powered by an Intel processor. It is endowed with  Intel Atom Z3745 Processor with Intel® Burst Performance Technology, the TAB S8. The TAB S8 is just 0.65 pounds and 0.31 inches thin. Other features include optional high-speed LTE (4G) connectivity (based on Intel® XMMTM 7160) and Wi-Fi for data connectivity, up to seven hours of battery life to keep users cord-free, and 64-bit technology compatibility. The TAB S8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat, includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0 and Dolby®-enhanced dual front speakers.

Although Google is said to abandom Nexus series, there is new product to come out this year. Now, 2 developers from Germany found Nexus 6 and Nexus 8 words in Chromium’s source code, which means Nexus series will last at least 1 generation.

In fact, Source code from Chromium will usually leak some newest information about Google’s recent device and system, like the “Flounder “ of Nexus’s developing code.

Beside this, although it is not known what feature will Nexus 6 and Nexus 8 to be, the outside world is expecting the Nexus 6 will be produced by LG, and it is the mini edition of LG G3. Some rumors reckon the Nexus 6 will reduce the screen size to 5.2 inch, but it is still unknown wheter it supports 2K resolution. Besides, rumors indicate Google is communicating with some Asian fingerprint identification sensor provider, so the Nexus6 may have that function.

Worthy mentioned, according to “Taiwan economic daily”, Google’s Nexus 6 will use MTK’s 64-bit processor, detailed type is still unknown, which may be 1.5 GHz quad core MT6732 or 2.0GHz 8 core MT6752. It is predicted Google will choose one from these 2 and use it on the Nexus 6.

However, foreign website Android Geeks predict Google’s Nexus 6 will carry Krait 450 structured Quadcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core processor, and Adreno 420 graphics processor and 3GB RAM with 16/32GB storage space. The camera is still unknown.

Predicted to be launched in Autumu

Because Nexus series will build newest Android system, the Google I/O developers conference that open at 25th June is considered the launch time of the phone. However, depended on the exposure rate of Nexus 6, it is less possible to be release next month, and Google’s Nexus devices are always launch at autumn, it is predicted the Nexus 6 will follow the trend.

Claimed by Taiwanese media “electronic tmies”, Google choose to cooperate with HTC, will launch newest 8 inch tablet. If it is true, that means HTC will cooperate with Nexus series products again after 4years.

MTK has successfully become the 3rd largest IC design factory because of hot sales of its products. For the chip production has been favoured by domestic and global big bands, Huawei decided to project and launch MT6752 octa-core 64-bit LTE mobile phone, which is a positive response to MTK. Both sides have well cooperated at the 3G generation so there would be no much issue in the 4G era.

Make a review in Huawei’s current production line, most are still 3G products. Although 4G products were not as plentiful as Coolpad, it is still one of some sells 4G products a lot. Apart with rumored Huawei Ascend P7, and thousand-Yuan-class G620, G716 and MATE2, X1. And there are some 4G products following in. ( including LTE, 3G and GSM voice data), integrate ARM Mali-T760 GPU, supporting H2.65/1080P 30fps hardware decoding, 16mp ISP and 1080P screen and so on. CPU pin set is completely capable with MT6732.

Without accident, many domestic companies has MT6752/MT6732 related plan rather than Huawei, each product of MTK produced effect on the market, let’s wait and see the 64 bit storm.
