In this event, the South Korean tech giant launched its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/06/samsung-debuts-new-bezel-free-q950ts-qled-8k-tv-at-ces-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">2020 flagship QLED 8K TV</a>. It carries the model number Q950TS and is the top of the line premium TV among its entire lineup. The TV is currently available for pre-orders and will launch on 1st June 2020.</p>
<p>The Samsung QLED 8K TV Q950TS arrives with various image enhancing technologies. It is equipped with a high end display technology called Full Array Elite built on a black panel and features a wide color gamut color rendering technology. The display houses up to 33 million pixels thanks to the UHD panel and arrives with a new generation of Samsung Quantum Dot 8K AI processor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-323378 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung" width="2560" height="1440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Q950TS-8K-QLED-TV_CES-2020_1-scaled-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>This processor is an upgraded version of the AI Upscaling technology, which enabled content to be converted to higher resolutions like 8K. The Samsung QLED 8K TV Q950TS also sports an artificial neural network and has a deep learning based algorithm with adaptive picture technology. The latter enables the TV to automatically adjust light and color temperature according to the ambient light.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/19/huawei-sold-over-15-million-5g-phones-grabs-33-global-5g-smartphone-market/">Huawei sold over 15 million 5G phones, grabs 33% global 5G smartphone market</a></strong></h6>
<p>For audio, the 8K QLED Q950TS houses two speakers on either side. These speakers are further divided into an audio system with 6 sub speakers. Interestingly, Samsung has equipped the TV with OTS+ technology or Object Tracking Sound along with an Active Voice Amplifier (AVA). The TV uses an AI software that lets it track audio and video for the OTS+ technology to enhance the listening experience through the 5.1 surround sound channel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-323377 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/samsung-Q950TS-tv-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/samsung-Q950TS-tv-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/samsung-Q950TS-tv-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/samsung-Q950TS-tv-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/samsung-Q950TS-tv-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/samsung-Q950TS-tv-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>One of its highlighting aspects is undoubtedly the display. Samsung is known for making top end screens and the Q950TS features a near complete screen to body ratio of 99 percent. In other words, there are negligible bezels that offer a full front display body. The 8K QLED TV is priced at 49,999 Yuan (roughly 7,063 US Dollars) for the 65 inch model, while the 75 inch and 85 inch version is priced at 69,999 and 99,999 Yuan respectively (roughly 9,848 and 14,068 US Dollars).</p>

The TV will be a part of the LG Signature Series and is a massive 88 inch TV which also features the 8K resolution and will be available sometime in June 2020.</p>
<p>The LG OLED 8K model arrives in the ZX series and will be available in two sizes, namely, an 88 inch OLED display with an 8K resolution or another 8K 77 inch panel. The South Korean tech giant claims that it will offer sharper images thanks to its pixel density being 4 times higher than most 4K screens out there. This display is also one of the primary reasons for its exorbitant pricing.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-320919 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/200428_lg_01.jpg?x44794" alt="LG" width="640" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/200428_lg_01.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/200428_lg_01-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/200428_lg_01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/200428_lg_01-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/200428_lg_01-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, there is no real 8K content that is readily available at the moment. Thus, it offers only a marginal image quality improvement over regular 4K TVs. Apart from this, the only real difference one can observe is by looking closely at the display. The model number for the 88 inch variant is 88ZXPJA while the 77 inch version is called 77ZXPJA. The former is priced at 3.7 million yen (roughly 34,676 US Dollars) and the latter will sell for 2.5 million yen (roughly 23,430 US Dollars).</p>

<p>Amongst other things, the design of the LG 8K TV is quite impressive as well. It arrives in an extremely thin form factor, which can even have it resemble a picture on the wall setup if put up on a wall. Furthermore, it also arrives with an Artistic Sculpture Design stand and has support for the LG ThinQ voice assistant. For sound, the premium flagship TVs sport front firing 60W speakers that are claimed to offer a more cinematic experience in your homes.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-320922 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero.jpg?x44794" alt="LG" width="2000" height="1334" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero.jpg 2000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/lg-z9-88-inch-8k-hdr-oled-tv-review-hero-1920x1281.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px" /></p>
<p>In terms of other features, the LG 88 inch 8K OLED TV houses a Gen 3 AI processor technology alongside HDMI 2.1 inputs (which enables 8K output at up to 120fps) and other screen protection related measures for the expensive TV. The custom processor also improves image quality and reduces overall noise. So, if you really want to go all out on your next TV purchase, look no further.</p>

The South Korean consumer tech giant just confirmed that there are at least two 8K (one 88-inch OLED Z9 model and another 75-inch LCD SM99 model) TVs coming our way next week.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-230519" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02.jpg?x44794" alt="LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-2019" width="956" height="636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02.jpg 1263w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/LG-ThinQ-AI-TV-Lifestyle-02-1024x681.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 956px) 100vw, 956px" /></a></p>
<p>While 8K TVs still have a lot of time to become mainstream, not to mention the lack of such high-resolution content available in the market, the new <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/8K">8K</a> TV range from LG boasts of being the first set of TVs to support the latest HDMI 2.1 standard. The new HDMI standard brings new features as well as increased bandwidth allowing for 8K 60fps playback. However, what&#8217;s even more interesting is that the new standard also boosts 4K signals to 120fps, which should allow for better, blur-free playback. Other features of the new standard include an enhanced audio return channel (eARC), variable refresh rate (VRR), and an automatic low latency mode (ALLM).</p>

<p>In addition to the built-in Google Assistant, the new <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/LG">LG</a> 2019 TVs will come with Amazon Alexa and the company&#8217;s Thinq AI as well. There&#8217;s a dedicated Amazon Prime Video button on the TV&#8217;s magic remote to handle smart home as well as various other tasks like changing channels, setting up wake up calls, checking traffic information and so on, all using voice commands.</p>
<p>The company has a press conference scheduled for January 7, just before <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/CES-2019">CES 2019</a> kicks off. For more details, hit the source link below!</p>
