Chinese suitcase manufacturer and Xiaomi‘s ecological chain company, Runmi technologies best known by its brand name 90 Points,  has launched a new product, its first for the year. The 90 Points Lite suitcase is the product of a collaboration between the company and Jingdong.

The suitcase comes in three different sizes and three colour variants and pricing starts at 399 yuan ($58). As stated, the 90 Points Lite suitcase is jointly built by Jingdong and 90 minutes with Jingdong bringing in its expertise in the use of business simplicity to play. The suitcase is designed for the contemporary youth with sizes of 20 inches, 24 inches and 28 inches. Color otions are also youthful, coming in black, gray and blue colours.

The suitcase utilizes a new storage system of two U-shaped independent partitions. One side is a mesh surface, woven strong, breathable and moisture-proof while the other side is a closed surface, placed with privacy items, and a separate storage bag, suitable for placing small pieces, travel objects orderly. The outer case is wear resistant and anti-fall, manufactured from Germany Covestro three-layer PC material (colored PC + fiber enhanced PC + colored PC). The suitcase equally features aviation aluminum alloy lever, adjustable in four levels or gears. In addition, it  has F1 racing grade smooth silent wheel which will wear less than 2mm after 12km walking.

Furthermore, the 90 points suitcase is equipped with a TSA-certified customs code lock. The built-in lock plate design is integrated with the cabinet. With one hand, the slider is instantly opened.

There is no word yet on its availability.

As you would have known by now, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 is already on and would see the unveiling of various customer electronics goods until it ends on January 12, 2018. Xiaomi isn’t particularly attending this year’s event but we have seen the Chinese giant’s name pop up when the Oculus GO VR was launched. Xiaomi’s name is about popping up as one of its 90 Minutes has disclosed that it would launch its latest suitcase and it is a robotic one which automatically follows the own wherever he goes.

The suitcase adopts a beautiful name- 90Fun Puppy 1 and is said to utilise Segway technology similar to that one used on the Ninebot self-balancing electric scooter. Segway is the world’s leading provider of mobile robotics solutions and is presently owned by Ninebot, a company Xiaomi had invested in. Along with its custom auto-following chip and the precise positioning system, it can either follow you anywhere or be summoned by easily setting up the auto-following mode through remote control. All of these will ensure a premium user experience. In order not to pose a problem getting it onboard flights, the Smart suitcase comes with a removable lithium battery.

If you are interested in this product, it is expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2018. The prototype will be officially unveiled and exhibited at CES 2018 on January 10, 2018.

Xiaomi‘s Mijia brand has launched another innovative smart product, this time it is the 90 Minutes Ultra Smart running shoes. The Smart running shoes or sports foot wear comes with a built-in Intel Curie chip which is very small in size, about the size of a button but enough to store vital fitness data in real time.

The footwear is developed in China by the Shanghai Runmi Technology Co. Ltd and is said to be designed for professional athletes. It uses a foam-like material on the body which cushions the effect of the runner is suppose to feel when his or her foot hit the ground. The sole of the shoes also has a design with arch support balance sheet, anti-skid wear and other design. The Smart sports footwear also comes with air cushion and an antibacterial removable insole.

Perhaps the most important feature on the footwear is the ability of the intelligent Intel chip to detect movement and store data such as distance covered, speed, calories lost etc. The chip can detect when the user of the sports shoes is running, walking or climbing. The chip can stay up to 60 days without need for a charge.

The Xiaomi 90 Minutes Ultra Smart sports footwear comes in black and surf blue color options designed specifically for the male folks and black and pink for the females. There is a blue special edition with luminous material that makes the runner visible to motorist and other road users at night. 

The Smart wearable comes with a 299 Yuan ($43) price tag and is already up for funding on Mi Home. The smart footwear would ship on 15th of April.

It is starting to look like a daily affair, Xiaomi is gearing up to release its 68th product on the crowdfunding Mijia platform. This is coming on the heels of the launch of the 399 Yuan ($58) Scishare coffee machine. The company has released a new poster which teases the launch of what would likely be a sports shoe line.

The launch will take place on March 9 at 10.00am and as usual, we have to use our intuition to deduce what the likely product is. The poster just contained the teaser “Air at the bottom” which suggests a pair of running shoes or sneakers which would likely be similar to the Nike Air Jordan lineup of sports shoes.

Since Xiaomi does not directly manufacture the products, this sports shoes seems to be from the stables of 90 Minutes. The company re-posted Xiaomi’s teaser of the launch event, even adding some insight into the upcoming product. Unfortunately, they too failed to reveal the identity of the product in clear terms. There is no doubt, though, that it is likely a pair of sports shoes. We’ll get to know the full details on March 9 at 10am.
