CHUWI has officially introduced the new CoreBook Air, a next-generation Copilot+ PC designed to deliver powerful AI capabilities, long battery life, and premium portability. According to CHUWI CEO Jesea Yang, the CoreBook Air combines Lunar Lake performance and Copilot+ AI capabilities in an ultra-light 1.2kg design, helping bring advanced AI PCs to a wider audience at a more accessible price point. The company aims to make advanced AI-powered computing more accessible to students, professionals, creators, and remote workers.

Premium Design Built for Portability

The CHUWI CoreBook Air features a slim and lightweight design that weighs just 1.2kg, making it easy to carry throughout the day. The laptop uses a premium CNC-crafted aluminum chassis that provides a durable and professional appearance while maintaining portability. Its compact form factor makes it suitable for students attending classes, content creators working on the move, business professionals, and remote workers who need a dependable travel companion.

Sharp 2.8K Display with Smooth Visuals

The laptop comes equipped with a 14-inch IPS display featuring a 2.8K resolution of 2880 × 1800 pixels. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. This combination delivers sharper text, detailed visuals, smoother scrolling, and an improved video viewing experience. The high-resolution panel is also designed to provide comfortable viewing during long work sessions.

Intel Lunar Lake Performance with Advanced AI

At the heart of the CoreBook Air is the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor based on Intel’s Lunar Lake (Series 2) architecture. The chip features 8 CPU cores and 8 threads, with boost frequencies reaching up to 4.5GHz. Users can expect strong computing performance, improved power efficiency, broad software compatibility, enhanced security, and advanced AI processing capabilities.

Graphics duties are handled by the integrated Intel Arc 130V GPU, which CHUWI claims can deliver up to twice the graphics performance of older Intel Iris Xe solutions. The GPU supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, casual gaming, content creation tasks, multimedia streaming, and GPU-accelerated applications.

Copilot+ Features and AI Acceleration

One of the biggest highlights of the CoreBook Air is its AI performance. The system delivers up to 97 TOPS of total AI computing power and includes an Intel AI Boost NPU capable of up to 40 NPU TOPS. This dedicated AI hardware enables faster on-device AI processing, reduced dependence on cloud services, improved privacy, and quicker AI responses.

Running Windows 11 Pro out of the box, the laptop supports Microsoft Copilot+ PC experiences such as Click to Do, Cocreator, and Live Captions. A dedicated AI key also provides instant access to Microsoft Copilot.

Memory, Storage, Battery, and Connectivity

The CoreBook Air includes 16GB LPDDR5X memory running at 8533 MT/s using a memory-on-package design for faster multitasking, lower latency, and better efficiency. Storage is handled by a 512GB PCIe SSD, while users can upgrade storage later through PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD support.

A 55Wh battery powers the laptop and is rated for up to 15 hours of local video playback. Charging is handled by a 65W USB-C Power Delivery adapter, capable of charging the battery to around 63% in approximately one hour.

For connectivity, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless speeds, lower latency, and improved stability. Port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports with up to 40Gbps bandwidth, Power Delivery support, external display connectivity, and eGPU compatibility. Users also get three USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 output, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Pricing and Availability

The CHUWI CoreBook Air is available for pre-order now. The laptop carries an official retail price of $799, but early buyers can take advantage of a limited-time Super Early-Bird discount of $50, reducing the launch price to $749. The OnePlus Nord N100 is the cheapest OnePlus smartphone in the history of the Chinese manufacturer. The phone which is priced at €179 in Europe and £179 in the UK, has a punch-hole 60Hz HD+ display among its features, or so we thought.

OnePlus got called out for the low refresh rate since it said last year that all its future phones will have a fluid display a.k.a. high refresh rate. Turns out that is not the case and the Nord N100 does have a high refresh rate display.

According to Android Authority, the OnePlus Nord N100 they purchased for review has a 90Hz refresh rate. They then contacted OnePlus who retracted its earlier info about it having a 60Hz refresh rate and confirmed that the phone indeed has a 90Hz refresh rate. The official spec sheet also states it has a 90Hz refresh rate. So why did we get different info at launch?

Why OnePlus did not say why it didn’t market the phone’s high refresh rate, Android Authority has come up with a theory that says it is because it is not a “Fluid Display”.

OnePlus prides itself on the quality of its phones’ displays and the smooth experience users will get when they use them. However, the Nord N100 is a budget smartphone, actually a rebadged OPPO A53, and its entry-level specs will not provide a Fluid Display experience.

So rather than market the feature (90Hz refresh rate) and get dragged in the mud for the performance and drop in display quality, they decided to go with a 60Hz refresh rate. This is just a theory and not OnePlus’s official statement.

Nevertheless, the OnePlus Nord N100 has a high refresh rate and users will be able to switch between a 60Hz refresh rate and a 90Hz refresh rate. We don’t know if the high refresh rate will convince users to purchase the phone but it is worth knowing.

The Nord N100 is already available for purchase in Europe. It has a 6.52-inch LCD display, a Snapdragon 460 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, triple rear cameras, stereo speakers, an audio jack, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Huawei today officially released a number for products in its home market with the P40 series smartphones at the helms. The company equally unveiled the X65 Smart TV with an OLED display and several amazing features.

During the launch event, Huawei’s CEO Yu Chengdong took time to respond to complaints about the P40 series not featuring support for 120Hz screen refresh rate. Yu Chengdong disclosed that the Huawei P40 Pro can naturally be configured to support the 120Hz refresh rate. However, the company took into consideration other factors such as the power consumption of the phone and others which he did not mention. Thus, the Chinese giant decided to stick with the 90Hz refresh rate as the maximum for the P40 Pro.

The Huawei CEO argued that the 90Hz display of the P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ has been optimized to be very smooth. For the avoidance of doubt, while the P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ features support for 90Hz refresh rate, the standard Huawei P40 has a 60Hz screen refresh rate.

Higher screen refresh rates have become important components of flagship models. We have seen OEMs bump up the refresh rates of their smartphone models from the usual 60 Hertz to 90 Hertz and even up to 120 Hertz especially on gaming smartphones. This has brought improvement to the gaming experience. Even though the P40 Pro only has support for 90Hz refresh rate, it is widely accepted that 90Hz is just adequate to handle most of the mobile games with heavy graphics smoothly. It also offers better battery consumption than a 120Hz refresh rate.

We have seen manufacturers launch phones with a refresh rate of 90Hz or 120Hz, and we will be getting a phone with a 144Hz refresh rate soon. The trend picked up last year and now more manufacturers are expected to adopt it this year too.

The main advantage of phones with a higher refresh rate is the faster and better scrolling experience. It is also a feature that greatly improves gaming experience, at least for games that support it. However, the feature has its disadvantage too and that is the toll it has on battery life.

It’s already been three months since the launch of the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro globally. This also means that the company is all set to tease new models launching in the second half of the year. Well, unlike past couple of years, we might not have to wait until October for the ‘T’ version, at least not in India. Rumors say that the new OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro could be announced as early as September 26, alongside its new TV. Now, OnePlus‘ CEO Pete Lau has revealed one key feature of the upcoming device.

In an email interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO revealed that its upcoming flagship will continue to use a 90Hz display. What’s even more interesting is that he said the phone will be cheaper than the current OnePlus 7 Pro which retails at $699 globally.

This is actually in line with what the Indian leakster Ishan Agarwal had revealed earlier. He had said that the OnePlus 7T (smaller version) will feature a notch and a 90Hz 2K display. So it’s very likely that Pete was talking about the OnePlus 7T and not the OnePlus 7T Pro!

According to rumors, the OnePlus 7T will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus and will come in two variants featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The camera setup at the back is said to come with a 48MP primary camera paired with 16MP and 12MP sensors.

High screen refresh rates are becoming an important feature among flagships. Even the Nubia Red Magic 3S that was announced today comes with a 90Hz AMOLED display and 240Hz touch sampling rate to ensure super smooth scrolling.

One of the key features of the OnePlus 7 Pro is its display. The phone’s notchless AMOLED screen boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz, higher than that of most smartphones. Up until today, OnePlus has kept mum about the refresh rate of the phone. However, it did confirm the exact refresh rate in official teasers sent to tech sites.

Senior Editor for TechRadar, Matt Swinder, shared on Twitter, images of a teaser poster he received from OnePlus. The poster, similar to others we have seen from the manufacturer, confirms the phone indeed has a 90Hz display.

In the poster, OnePlus says the feature isn’t one that was requested by users or one they added because competitors were rumored to be developing it for their phones. The decision was just to provide its users with a 90Hz display because it is better.

OnePlus also confirms the phone’s curved display measures 6.67-inches (measured diagonally) and is completely notchless. Or why make such an awesome display and have the experience hampered by a big black bar, OnePlus says.

The OnePlus 7 Pro will also have a triple rear camera setup with 3x optical zoom, a pop-up selfie camera, stereo speakers, and UFS 3.0 flash storage e.t.c. However, it won’t have wireless charging support nor a 3.5mm audio jack.
