Acer has entered the handheld gaming market with the Nitro Blaze 7, its first portable gaming console. This device is designed for high-performance gaming on the go and features an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor and Radeon 780 M graphics. It competes with the Asus ROG Ally, Steam Deck, and Lenovo Legion Go.

The Nitro Blaze 7 has a 7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate, offering smooth gameplay. The screen also provides a peak brightness of 500 nits, making it visible in different lighting conditions. Additionally, the device supports AMD FreeSync Premium, which helps reduce screen tearing and stuttering for a better gaming experience.

Powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, the Nitro Blaze 7 has 8 cores and 16 threads, with clock speeds up to 5.1 GHz, ensuring solid performance for demanding games. The Radeon 780M graphics, with up to 2.7 GHz clock speeds and 12 compute units, can handle modern games well, even on the Nitro Blaze 7’s smaller screen.

For storage, the Nitro Blaze 7 offers up to 2 TB of M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x 4 Gen 4 SSD, providing plenty of space for games and apps. The device also includes 16GB of LPDDR5x SDRAM for smooth multitasking and quick load times.

The Nitro Blaze 7 is equipped with physical joystick-style buttons, a D-pad, bumpers, triggers, and shoulder buttons, providing a familiar experience for gamers used to traditional console controllers.

In addition to its hardware, the Nitro Blaze 7 comes with software features to improve gaming, including the Acer Game Space app, which integrates popular gaming platforms and offers features like game recording, streaming, and performance optimization. The device also includes a 3-month subscription to PC Game Pass, giving access to a wide range of games.
