<p>For those unaware, we had previously covered a rumor that suggested that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/25/apple-iphone-14-pro-always-on-display-better-refresh-rate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature Always On Display</a>. Now, the latest Power On newsletter from Mark Gurman has revealed that this feature will come with new UI elements that ships with the iOS 16 operating system. The report claims that the Always On Display feature will showcase new screen widgets and more.</p>
<p>Notably, these widgets includes features like weather updates, fitness, and likely much more other options that the user might be able to customize. As per Gurman, &#8220;Like the Apple Watch, the iPhone 14 Pro will be able to show widgets displaying weather, calendars, stocks, activities and other data while the screen remains at a low brightness and frame rate. And there will be a setting also like the Apple Watch that keeps sensitive data from appearing on the lock screen for all to see.&#8221;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-462584 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-scaled.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="2560" height="1440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Purple-Side-by-Side-Black-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>Apart from this, we can expect the iPhone 14 Pro&#8217;s Always On display to function like any other AOD on other smartphones. By this we mean, it will likely display basic information like time, date, notifications, and more. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report so take this news with a pinch of salt for now and stick around for more updates.</p>

<p>The OV32C arrives in a compact 1/3.2 inch optical format, which the company states is the &#8220;ideal performance/size ratio for next generation front facing mobile phone selfie cameras.&#8221; It arrives with built in RGBC technology that lets the sensor offer the best image quality in varying lighting situations. Notably, the OV32C&#8217;s low power nodes allows it bring &#8220;always on&#8221; to the selfie cameras on smartphones. With Always On, the sensor would offer a better user experience by using artificial intelligence (AI) processing to automatically perform various common tasks like face detection, QR code scanning, and much more.</p>
<p>According to Arun Jayaseelan, staff marketing manager at OmniVision, &#8220;Mobile phone users need the highest possible image quality and resolution from their cameras, but the design challenge is that there is very limited space for the front facing camera module. Our new OV32C addresses this issue by providing 1/2.8 inch pixel size performance in a compact 1/3.2 inch OF. The OV32C is our first sensor for the mobile phone market to feature RGBC―providing a 50% boost in overall sensitivity to enhance low light image quality. Additionally, we’ve reduced design complexity for OEMs with an on chip RGBC to Bayer fusion algorithm, therefore, a separate RGBC processing unit isn’t required.”</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-138335 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OmniVision.jpg?x44794" alt="OmniVision" width="591" height="443" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OmniVision.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OmniVision-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OmniVision-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/OmniVision-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></p>
<p>For those unaware, OmniVision is a leading develop of advanced digital imaging technologies that have been featured in many smartphone models. Now, it seeks to further boost its portfolio with an Always On Selfie camera from its first RGBC image sensor. While all of this does seem intriguing on paper, we will have to wait for real world tests to know of its capabilities. The company stated that more information will be shared during the CES 2022 event that is set between the 5th and 8th of January.</p>
