The Amazfit GTR 2 New Version smartwatch has been announced for unveiling in India on May 23. The Amazfit GTR 2 New Version is a sequel to the GTR 2 which was launched in India back in 2020. This follows the same pattern with the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini New Edition which was launched in India in April as a trimmed-down version of the GTS 2 Mini.

There are some design and feature differences between the new version of Amazfit GTR 2 and its predecessor. However, much of the specifications remain the same for the two models. The new smartwatch will feature a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen with 2.5D glass, and up to 450 nits brightness. The smartwatch has an aluminum alloy casing with two color options for its silicone strap. The new model’s silicone straps come in lightning grey and thunder black colors. The new model has a scratch-resistant, diamond-like carbon coating and will support both Android and iOS devices.

The Amazfit GTR 2 New Version offers more than 90 Sports Modes, giving users a wide variety of exercise options to choose from. The Activity Tracking includes heart rate, distance, step count, calorie count, and sleep. There are several sensors to measure Blood Oxygen saturation and other health features, as well as an Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Air Pressure Sensor, and Geomagnetic sensor. The Amazfit GTR 2 New Version is rated 5ATM water resistance and has a 3GB storage for music playback.

The new Amazfit GTR 2 features Bluetooth calling – it has a microphone and three magnetic super linear speakers to deliver crisp calls. A 471mAh battery provides up to 14 days of battery life for the new smartwatch. The battery can last for up to 38 days on basic use, while heavy use yields just about 6 days of battery life.

Pricing information for the Amazfit GTR New Version is not available at this time. The smartwatch can be purchased in India via Flipkart starting from May 23. Note that the original GTR 2 was priced between Rs. 12,999 (~$168) and Rs. 13,499 (~$174).
