In late August, Huami Amazfit Neo, a retro-style smartwatch was listed for pre-order on AliExpress. A few days later in September, this wearable officially debuted in China for 299 yuan ($44). Now, the company launches it in India for ₹2,499 ($34).

It will be available for purchase in Black, Green, and Red color options starting tomorrow (October 1) on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Tata Cliq, and Amazfit online store (in.amazfit.com).

Tha all-new Amazfit Neo is unlike any other wearable from Huami. It features a retro design with CASIO vibes all over it. This smartwatch sports a 1.2-inch always-on STN LCD panel with a lift to wake backlight.

It comes equipped with an accelerometer and BioTracker PPG sensor to track fitness activities, monitor heart rate, and track sleep (including REM). Additionally, It also supports PAI health assessment system, call & message alerts and is water-resistant up to 5ATM.

The body of the watch is made of plastic, whereas its wristband features a material called PUR, which is nothing but polyurethane. It has four buttons namely select, back, up and down.

The Amazfit Neo pairs with Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth 5.0 with the help of new Zepp app. Last but not least, it is backed by a 160mAh battery, which the company claims to offer up to  28 days of battery life on regular usage and 37 days with power-saving mode.

Huami teased the launch of new products a week ago and now the first of them has surfaced. The Amazfit Neo is a smartwatch with a retro design but modern-day smartwatch features including 24-hour heart rate monitoring, step counting, and even app alerts. The watch is now available on pre-sale on AliExpress.

The Amazfit Neo has an always-on 1.2-inch retro-styled STN (Super-twisted Nematic) display. The display is power efficient and can be seen clearly under bright light. It even has a backlight that turns on when you lift up your wrist to check the screen.

The display has four sides and is housed in a polycarbonate body that is attached to PUR straps. There are four textured buttons – two on each side – for operating the watch. Some functions even require you to press two buttons at the same time. The Amazfit Neo is available in three colors – Green, Black, and Orange.

There is a BioTracker PPG sensor for 24-hour heart rate monitoring and the watch will alert you if your heart rate is abnormal. Apart from tracking your steps, there is the PAI health assessment system that helps you understand your health better.

The Amazfit Neo also has sleep tracking and will even track naps (between 11 AM and 6 PM) and also REM sleep. Amazfit says it has sports tracking – running, walking, and cycling – but you have to go into the app to select which activity to track. The watch will also alert you when you receive phone calls, messages, and emails.

Other features of the watch include water resistance up to 50 meters, a 160mAh battery that will last up to 28 days on a single charge with typical usage, and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. The smartwatch works with the Zepp app and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

The Amazfit Neo has a price tag of $49.99 and is sold by the official Amazfit store on AliExpress. However, you can purchase it for just $39.99 if you grab a $2 store coupon and also use the code “AMAZFITNEO” at checkout. Unfortunately, the store doesn’t mention when the watch will begin shipping.
