The AMD 4800S Desktop Kit live images have just recently been spotted. This could be a higher clocked version of the previously launched 4700S Desktop Kit, or might even feature a new processor.

The live images were shared by VideoCardz, who also revealed a few specifications of this Desktop Kit that is based on the Zen2 architecture. For those unaware, the 4700S Desktop Kit features an Ariel SoC, which is the chip that powers the popular Sony PlayStation 5 gaming console. Notably, Team Red is currently working on Zen2/RDNA2 SoCs for the Microsoft Xbox Series gaming consoles. So, the 4800S might be using this new Xbox chipset. Although, this is just speculation as of right now.

Looking at the supposed specs of the 4800S, the upcoming Desktop Kit offers some key upgrades over the 4700S. This includes a PCIe 4.0 Slot for a dedicated discrete graphics card, over the last gen’s support for only Gen2. Furthermore, the 4700S could only support entry to mid level GPUs, while the 4800S can reportedly run up to a Radeon RX 6600 card that is bundled with the new Desktop Kit.

The report also added that the new 4800S will be launching sometime in the first quarter of next year. It will apparently be manufactured by known PC maker MSI, and will also be bundled with TUL (PowerColor) Radeon RX 6600 GPU. Although, this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt.

AMD has announced the unveiling of its latest graphics card, the AMD Radeon RX 6600. This is coming on the heels of the earlier release of the Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card in July 2021. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 with RDNA-2 architecture is a GPU AMD is proclaiming as well suited for gaming applications. It supports a high gaming refresh rate of 1080p.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 uses the RDNA-2 technology and has an 8GB DDR6 memory. It has a boost clock of up to 2491 MHz, an Infinity cache of 32 MB, and a Typical Board Power of 132 W. In addition, the new AMD graphics card uses the PCIe 4.0 x 8 interface.

The Radeon RX 6600 GPU is compatible with Windows 11 and supports AMD Smart Access technology. It also offers AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution spatial upscaling. AMD says that the new graphics card offers up to 1.3 times better performance than other similar graphics cards currently in the market.

In a statement by Scot Herkelman, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Graphics Business Unit at AMD, the company hopes to deliver massive improvements in life-like visuals in gaming applications. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 offers the best possible 1080p gaming experience available to a raft of PC games.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 graphics card is already available for purchase in India for Rs. 24,766 ($329).
