<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amd/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AMD </a>has just announced its latest generation of professional series of graphics card. The new GPUs are from the new family of Radeon PRO W7000 series, which feature the company&#8217;s latest RDNA 3 architecture. So here are all the details.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1024x576-1.jpg?x10805" alt="AMD" class="wp-image-530060" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1024x576-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1024x576-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1024x576-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1024x576-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1024x576-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The popular American graphics card makers launched the new cards for professionals and promises to offer higher performance with better value over its predecessors. The new workstation GPUs also feature the company&#8217;s proprietary chiplet design for improved performance and power efficiency. It also comes with support AMD Radiance Display Engine as well. The new cards include the new Radeon PRO W7900 and Radeon PRO W7800 graphics cards. The former is the flagship model and offers top end performance for extreme tasks, while the latter is still capable of handling intensive tasks. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="650" height="308" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1.jpg?x10805" alt="AMD" class="wp-image-530062" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1.jpg 650w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-1-300x142.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></figure></div>

<p>AMD&#8217;s Radeon PRO W7900 features 48GB of GDDR6 VRAM, offers 61 FLOPS (FP32) of performance, and offers 1.5x times higher geomean performance on SPECviewperf 2020. On the other hand the Radeon PRO W7800 features 32GB of GDDR6 VRAM and offers 45 TFLOPS (FP32) of performance. Talking about some of their notable features, the new cards are based on the brand&#8217;s RDNA 3 architecture, which promises 50 percent higher ray tracing performance and better optimization for rendering, video edition, and more thanks to better optimization for AEC, D&amp;M, and M&amp;E based workloads.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="650" height="317" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-Specs.png?x10805" alt="AMD" class="wp-image-530061" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-Specs.png 650w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-Specs-300x146.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AMD-Radeon-PRO-W7000-Series-Specs-533x261.png 533w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></figure></div>

<p>Furthermore, the new chiplet design is based on the 5nm Graphics Compute Die along with six 6nm Memory Cache Die (MCD). Other notable features include, support for DisplayPort 2.1, AV1 Encone/Decode, Optimized Driver Performance promised by the company, dedicated AI acceleration and second gen ray tracing technology. The AMD Radeon PRO W7000 series of workstation GPUs start from 2,499 US Dollars for the W7800 model, while the W7900 GPU costs 3,999 US Dollars. The cards will go on sale starting in the second quarter of this year.</p>

In the image, we saw that the MT679X, which will probably be the best SoC from the company this year. The processor is expected to hit the markets by Q4 2015.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Cortex-A72-MT679X.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-44112" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Cortex-A72-MT679X.jpg?x10805" alt="Cortex A72 MT679X" width="480" height="286" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Cortex-A72-MT679X.jpg 480w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Cortex-A72-MT679X-300x179.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" /></a></p>
<p>The highlight of MT679X was the new Cortex A72 cores used along with the power efficient Cortex A53. While this won&#8217;t be the first Cortex A72 powered processor from the company (Mediatek already<a title="MediaTek MT8173 Tablet SoC With ARM Cortex-A72 Cores Launched" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/03/02/mediatek-mt8173-tablet-soc-arm-cortex-a72-cores-launched/"> demoed the MT8173 with this powerful core at MWC 2015</a>), this will be the go to SoC for many top end phones next year. The big.LITTLE architecture will also make sure that there is a balance of performance and efficiency.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/amd-radeon.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-44246" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/amd-radeon.jpg?x10805" alt="Print" width="450" height="380" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/amd-radeon.jpg 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/amd-radeon-300x253.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></a></p>
<p>In our previous article, we said that Mediatek is in talks with AMD for a new GPU. While both the companies have denied to comment on its plans, once again Taiwanese media reports that Mediatek will most likely use the AMD Radeon series mobile graphic GPUs in upcoming processors. So, the powerful MT679X should be one of the first SoCs to feature the new Radeon series GPUs later this year.</p>
<p>It is still not clear which manufacturing process will be used by MT679X SoC, but reports suggests that it will be either a 20nm process or a much more efficient 16nm FinFet. Since, Samsung and even Huawei have already adopted a better manufacturing process, its more than likely that the MT679X will be the first Meditek SoC to use 16nm process.</p>
<p>Anyways, we expect Mediatek to officially showcase smartphones powered by this super fast SoC by early next year, probably by CES 2016.</p>
