The laptops now feature a Ryzen 5 4500U processor, with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Although, the configuration and availability will vary between countries.

Between the 14 inch and 15 inch variant, the only real difference is the screen size.
Users get also get three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A ports, one USB Type-C port for charging, an HDMI 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack as well. The laptop also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and has a camera hidden inside the keyboard along with a fingerprint sensor on the power button.

Both variants feature the same resolution and also feature identical ports including one USB Type C for charging, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Apart from the display, another difference is the battery, with the smaller variant having a much larger battery for some unknown reason (56Wh versus 42Wh on the MagicBook 15).

Price and Availability

The Honor MagicBook Pro with the Ryzen 5 4600H will be available in Germany starting from 7th September 2020 and the UK from the 8th.
This is quite interesting since Huawei has primarily focused on the laptop and ultrabook market in recent times. So, the fact that the company is now eyeing the desktop market as well, might lead to a few noteworthy launches and product offerings. During this time of crisis, work from home has become a norm with PC and laptop markets both seeing a market growth.

Looking at the image shared the Huawei desktop sports an AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4400G processor with integrated Radeon Graphics. This chip is from the Renoir lineup of APUs that feature Zen 2 architecture.
The integrated Radeon Graphics has a VRAM memory of 512MB, with 1,600MHz base clock and 1,900MHz boost clock. Unfortunately, finer details regarding the PC is currently unknown. We don’t know that name of the desktop in question or its purpose, although, these specs might be for a PC with a small form factor which will have enough horsepower for dedicated professionals, while there may even be higher end or even lowered end APUs offered in this range. So stay tuned for more updates.

Specifications

The new RedmiBook lineup is the latest entry in the Chinese company’s thin and light laptop offerings and features powerful specifications. The entire series from the small 13 inch variant to the high end 16.1 inch variant feature AMD’s newest Ryzen 4000 series mobile processors. These chips are built on a 7nm fabrication process and are based on the company’s Zen 2 architecture. According to Xiaomi, these new processors will boost performance by up to 60 percent.

Users will be able to choose different variants that arrive with different Ryzen CPUs. In other words, people can opt for the more expensive Ryzen 7 4700U processor or the more budget friendly Ryzen 5 4500U processor on their laptops. The processors also arrive with an integrated GPU, Vega 7 for the high end chip, and Vega 6 for the mid range one. Both CPUs have a TDP of 15W, with the Ryzen 7 being an 8 core + 8 thread chip and the Ryzen 5 featuring 6 core + 6 threads.

Design and Battery

The lineup features a minimal aesthetic with a metallic finish. Apart from the screen sizes, the specifications of the display remain the same across the different models. The new RedmiBook series features a high screen to body ratio of 90.6 percent and a 100 percent sRGB wide color gamut, for a more vivid and accurate color display. The bezels around this display are quite negligible, coming in at just 3.26mm.

Furthermore, 16GB of RAM if offered on the high end model, and the battery is charged via a USB Type C charging port, which also supports quick charging as well.

The senior executive stated that the new generation of the company’s notebook laptops will feature AMD’s latest mobile processor lineup. AMD’s new Ryzen 4000 series has been highly anticipated for a while now and features powerful performance alongside power efficiency as well. The processor will also arrive with the company’s Vega GPU, which is quite a bit better than Intel’s integrated graphics.

Editor’s Pick: Redmi 10X Pro features quad-camera setup with 30X Zoom and OIS; Camera sample shared online

For those unaware, AMD’s new Ryzen 4000 series of mobile processors are based on the company’s popular and powerful Zen 2 architecture. These processors offer great multithreaded computing power along with a lower overall TDP. Its 8 core CPU with 16 threads operates on just a 15W TDP limit, which is quite impressive. This translates to the RedmiBook laptop series being very power efficient.

In other words, an 18 hour battery life is being promised by the company. The upcoming RedmiBook series will arrive in a 16.1 inch and 15 inch model, with a screen to body ratio of 90 percent. The new laptops will be announced on 26th May 2020 and will be unveiled alongside the Redmi 10X series of smartphones. So stay tuned, as we will be covering the event and the various product launches.
