In a tweet, Olivier of ASUS Zenfone Team France has shared the details of the Beta Testing. He says that the recruitment of Android 11 Beta Testers for ROG Phone 3 has officially started. Interested users can register by navigating to the following option:

Settings->System->System Updates

Now, Click on the Parameters Dial and register for the Beta Program of Android 11. Don’t forget to specify the type of network as WiFi/Carrier Data according to your need. Usually, Beta builds come in big packages and hence, they might need more data.

ASUS’s revamped ZenUI is closer to Stock Android than earlier versions. Hence, expect most of the goodies of Android 11 to make it to the UI. That is, Android 11 features like chat bubbles(conversations), media controls, improved permission management, and organized notifications.

ASUS, even though began the first Beta testing(with Zenfone 6) of the Android 11 way before its announcement, the stable update rolled out just a month ago. And with ROG Phone 3, which launched back in July 2020, ASUS is just getting started with the Beta update.

Back in March 2020, the ROG Phone 2 got the Android 10 stable months after its arrival. Hence, going by the past records of ASUS, we can expect the ROG Phone 3 to get the stable update to arrive in a couple of months.

Meanwhile, ASUS is gearing up to launch the successor of the ROG Phone 3, the ROG Phone 5(Tentative) early in 2021.

ZenUI on ASUS smartphones is now closer to stock Android than ever before. However, the company still takes time to roll out updates. For instance, Xiaomi and OPPO have already released Android 11-based MIUI 12 and ColorOS 11 for multiple devices. On the other hand, the Taiwanese company has only rolled out its first Android 11 Beta build for a single device.

Anyway, the update is here (via XDA Developers) and it brings all the core features of Android 11 like Chat Bubble, Notification History, Bluetooth in Airplane mode to name a few. Further, it finally adds support for gesture navigation for third-party features. We are not sure why ASUS waited until Android 11 to add it.

Interestingly, rather than adding new features, Android 11 for ZenFone 6 removes some old functions and apps like Private Listening, ZenUI Help, Smart group, Icon alignment, Icon packs, and Avast scanning engine.
Though Realme has released Android 11 Beta 1 for Realme X50 Pro, it can be only installed on the Chinese variant with model number RMX2071. Do note that it is not suitable for everyone as it may contain unknown bugs and performance issues. Also, it will factory reset your phone upon installing.

Anyway, the installation procedure is very simple. The only pre-requisite is that your device should be running RMX2017_11_A.20 build.
OPPO has highlighted some of the features that Android 11 brings to the Find X2 series such as Scheduled Dark Mode which automatically switches your device between light and dark modes; a special bedtime mode that can be configured to your liking; ability to pin conversations in the notification menu; dedicated menu for smart home devices without the need for installing third-party applications; and stricter privacy settings.

OPPO warns that the build is only available to developers and not for end-users. They also warn that the build has bugs and is unstable. So if this is your primary device and you are not a developer, you may want to steer clear of the beta build.

You can download the Android 11 Beta build from the source link below. XDA-Developers have also written a step-by-step guide on how to flash it and how to rollback if you need to.

The new function was discovered by a senior member of XDADevelopers.
Google began to involve partner OEMs in the Android Beta program from Android Pie. Most of the companies released AOSP build for its users. But from last year, almost all of them delivered builds with their own skin like MIUI, OxygenOS, etc. The trend continues this year as well.

Hence, the Android 11 Beta 1 for Vivo Nex 3S and iQOO 3 is available as FuntouchOS and iQOO UI.
Vivo says it will be releasing the second build in late July, which will be soon followed by stable release once Google officially launches Android 11 in August.

The currently available builds are not suitable for all users as they have some major bugs like the in-display fingerprint sensor. Anyway, if you are still interested, you can download them from the link provided below.

Once downloaded, copy the file to your device and navigate to Settings > System Update > Local Update. Do note that this will reset your phone and hence make sure to create a backup of your data before proceeding.

Unlike OPPO that promised this month, Xiaomi and POCO didn’t say when users should expect it. Also, seeing as the POCO F2 Pro will be getting Android 11 Beta 1, we expect the Redmi K30 Pro should get it too.

There are still a number of manufacturers we expect to make their own announcements such as OnePlus and Vivo. We hope they do so before the end of the week.

According to a tweet by Mishaal Rahman, the editor-in-chief of XDA-Developers, OPPO confirmed to him that the Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro will get the beta later this month.

Android 11 Beta is here! We'll of course be digging into the new release soon.

As far as non-Pixel devices getting the update, OPPO has confirmed to me that the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro will get the beta later this month. (Article on this coming soon!) https://t.co/hzg1yIzQ0Q

This should be good news for owners of the two flagships as they will be able to get a taste of what Android 11 has to offer ahead of other devices. Last year, the OPPO Reno was one of the devices eligible for Android Q beta.

We expect more manufacturers will announce which of their devices will also get Android 11 beta in the coming days or weeks. The manufacturers that were part of the beta program last year include ASUS, Nokia, Huawei, LG, OnePlus, Realme, Sony, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

Android 11 is said to focus on People, Controls, and Privacy. Some of the features it brings include One-Time Permissions, Permissions Auto-Reset, a revamped media control, and an improved Voice Access that lets you easily control your device with just your voice.
