<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Over the past few months, Lenovo has been busy making their last releases of the year. One of them was<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/12/08/lenovo-launches-iphone-5c-lookalike-lenovo-s60-t/"> the iPhone 5C clone, the Lenovo S60-t </a>which sports a 5-inch 720p display screen and a quad-core processor. There is also the yellow <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/12/05/lenovo-lemon-k3-snapdragon-410-launched-cost-599-rmb-97-35-usd-china/">Lenovo Lemon K3 for the entry-level market</a>. Its CPU is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and has 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM.</p>
<p>Lenovo has always had a lot of devices that cost several hundred RMB. In 2014 alone, Lenovo released several flagship devices that cost less than 1000 RMB (161.60 USD). Surprisingly, they released a low-priced 3G device at a time when 4G is all the rage. This phone is the Lenovo A399.</p>
<p>As a phone that costs less than 1000 RMB, do not expect it to have excellent specifications. One of the Lenovo A399’s biggest selling points is its display screen. It sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display screen. As for its CPU, it uses the MTK MT6582M quad-core chip. Regarding memory, it has 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM. It is also powered by a 2000mAh battery and has a 2mp camera. Regarding connectivity, it supports WCDMA and GSM networks and is also a dual-SIM cell phone. This phone comes in black and white. The screen’s frame is quite slim.</p>
<p>It is also worth pointing out that it uses its in-house operating system, the Vibe UI. This version is based on the Android 4.4. As a result, the Lenovo A399 is easier and simpler to use. Besides letting users search for apps more easily, it also has a pretty user interface.</p>
<p>An entry-level cell phone, the Lenovo A399 is a pretty cheap phone and only costs about $65. It is not a bad phone considering its price.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/?s=huawei">Huawei</a> is ready to take their cellphones to the 64-bit 4G era with its newest device. Although they will not hold a launch event for its new products until December 16, they have already started pre-sales for one of their newest products, the Huawei Honor Play 4X which is the first device to use the Kirin 620. It is said to cost X99 RMB.</p>
<p>The Kirin 620 is a high-speed 64-bit octa-core processor from HiSilicon, a Shenzhen-based company that produces CPU processors. It is completely owned by Huawei. The Kirin 620 processor uses 8 A53 cores and offers powerful performance. Its graphics processing unit (GPU) is the Mali 450. With this processor, the GPU performance for the device that uses it increases by 20%.</p>
<p>The new Huawei Honor Play 4X’s overall specifications are basically the same as the original except for the processor. It sports a 5.5-inch 720p display screen, has a 5mp front-facing camera and 13mp rear-facing camera, and runs the Android 4.4 operating system. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery. The low-end version will have 1GB RAM while the high-end version will have 2GB RAM. Users can buy gold versions of this phone.</p>
<p>In addition, regarding the price, some reports say that the low-end edition will cost 799 RMB ($128.83) while the high-end edition will cost 999 RMB ($161.08). Of course we cannot rule out the possibility that it will be cheaper.</p>
<p>Anyway, as said earlier, this is just one of Huawei’s new devices that will be launched on December 16. You cannot help but wonder what else the company has in store for us. Could it be another cell phone or a tablet? Maybe a power bank? We have no choice but to wait until then.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There has been a war going on in China. It is not a war that is being fought with guns or armies&#8212;-but with cell phone prices. That’s right. For the last several months Chinese cell phone companies have been competing with each other by lowering the price of their phones through promos, discounts, sales, etc. They are also releasing new phones at relatively lower prices. Many are aiming to release phones at a price below 1000 RMB (162.47 USD). One example is the 999 RMB (162.33 USD) <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/?s=jiayu+s3">Jiayu S3</a> high-end edition.</p>
<p>The Jiayu S3 high-end edition’s specifications are passable. One of its most important features is that it has 3GB RAM. Its CPU chip comes from MediaTek. Specifically, it is the octa-core MTK MT6752. This phone is dual-4G-supported. The Jiayu S3 high-end edition also sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display screen. As for its camera specs, its rear-facing camera is a 13mp camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor, while its front-facing camera is a 5mp camera. Its operating system is the Android 4.4 OS. Later, this can be upgraded to the new Android 5.0. It also has a built-in 3000mAh removable battery.</p>

<p>When Malata started targetting the Chinese market again, they announced their intention to make their product line more diverse and competitive. With so many cellphones on the market, making a unique cellphone is no easy task. Recently, however, Malata released the world’s first cellphone to have a speaker screen—the Malata X6. In this short review, we take a look at this interesting little device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/6371F754BAD630F403CB491EE695D768.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-36991" alt="Malata X6" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/6371F754BAD630F403CB491EE695D768.png?x44794" width="500" height="370" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/6371F754BAD630F403CB491EE695D768.png 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/6371F754BAD630F403CB491EE695D768-300x222.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a></p>
<p>The Malata X6 uses a pioneering speaker screen technology that only Malata possesses. In principle, this technology involves inserting a piezoelectric actuator under the display screen. This technology lets the screen vibrate and release sound. By integrating the function of a phone receiver with an IPS display screen, there is no longer any need of the traditional phone receiver with holes. When you make a phone call, you can hear high-quality sound by putting your ear near any corner of the screen. This is very convenient as you no longer have to look for the speakers when you want to listen better.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/70B480B49BC8595CB5E8EC453D6A244E.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-36992" alt="Malata X6" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/70B480B49BC8595CB5E8EC453D6A244E.png?x44794" width="500" height="333" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/70B480B49BC8595CB5E8EC453D6A244E.png 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/70B480B49BC8595CB5E8EC453D6A244E-300x199.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/E91AF8022AF9FC302C4D173E53735599.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-36993" alt="Malata X6" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/E91AF8022AF9FC302C4D173E53735599.png?x44794" width="500" height="333" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/E91AF8022AF9FC302C4D173E53735599.png 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/E91AF8022AF9FC302C4D173E53735599-300x199.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a></p>
<p>Because there are no holes above the screen, no water or dust can come from the front. There are times when you are going get water, tea, or any other liquid spilled over your phone. The Malata X6’s design lessens the probability of any liquid or dust going inside.</p>

<p>It looks like Malata is succeeding in their mission to create a unique device. From its functions to its appearance, it seems to show this. It would not be a bad choice for a holiday gift. That’s for sure.</p>

<p>The GSMART Mika M3 phone has a 5-inch 720p OGS display screen. As stated earlier, this phone uses a processor from MTK. Specifically, it uses the 1.3GHz MTK MT6582 quad-core CPU. It also has 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM, which can be expanded up to 32GB. It also has powerful camera specs, sporting an 8mp front-facing camera and 13mp rear facing camera. <p>It might seem that the “T” may make people think that this is the TD version of the iOcean X7S, but it really isn’t. It’s actually the youth edition of the X7S Deluxe Edition with lower specs. T-Edition still retains the Deluxe Edition’s 5-inch IPS display screen supported by OGS technology but its resolution was dropped from 1080p to 720p. It sports a 2Mp/8Mp camera.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The rest of the X7S-T’s specs are almost completely the same as the Deluxe Edition’s. It has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory storage, uses the 1.7GHz MTK6592 octa-core processor, and still supports a gyroscope and electric compass. The most important thing about the X7S-T is that it will use the Android 4.4 OS! In addition, it still has a detachable 2000ma battery, and supports WCDMA+GSM dual-SIM and an expandable memory card.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Aw of now, there is no clear release date for the X7S-T but it should not be long. The low-end edition should be cheaper than the X7S Deluxe to satisfy many people.</p>

<li>User Manual</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Vifocal C1000 &#8211; Design</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_021.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26514" alt="Vifocal_C1000_021" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_021.jpg?x44794" width="960" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_021.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_021-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a></p>
<p>We&#8217;ve received a full black version of the C1000, which looks really good and seems to have good quality. The screen is a large 5.5 inch size. Above it are the call speaker and front camera and underneath are three soft buttons. Unfortunately these buttons are not lit, but otherwise the phone looks impressive.</p>

<p>The sides of the phone contain all the essentials; the volume is on the left side and the power button is on the right. On the top of the phone are the USB slot and the headphone socket.</p>

<p>The back face of the phone contains the rear camera with the LED flashlight below it. Under that, we have the fingerprint scanner. Underneath the cover there&#8217;s a large battery compartment and slots for two SIM cards, one TF slot. Underneath this compartment is the media speaker.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_023-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26524 alignleft" alt="Vifocal_C1000_023-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_023-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26523 alignnone" alt="Vifocal_C1000_026-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_026-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Vifocal C1000 &#8211; Screen</strong></p>
<p>The Vifocal C1000 has a 5.5 inch screen with a 960 x 540 resolution. The specifications aren&#8217;t exactly mind blowing but Vifocal has used QHD resolution and,  given the screen, is fine with regards to visibility and the touchscreen works very well.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_032-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26529 alignleft" alt="Vifocal_C1000_032-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_032-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_019-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26530 alignnone" alt="Vifocal_C1000_019-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_019-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Vifocal C1000: Performance</strong></p>
<p>The C1000 is equipped with the quad-core Mediatek MTK6582 based on the Arm 4 Cortex processor (which clocks at 1.3 GHz) and Mali 400MP GPU graphics. It is a bit of a disappointment that there is no octa-core processor, but that said, the Vifocal C1000 is plenty powerful enough to run high powered apps and games.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_0121.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26532" alt="Vifocal_C1000_012" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_0121.jpg?x44794" width="960" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_0121.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_0121-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a></p>
<p>The AnTuTu benchmark tests show some great results. The score of 18018 means the C1000 outperforms the Galaxy S3 and Nexus 4, so it should have no problem with high performance tasks.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_04-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26533 alignleft" alt="Vifocal_C1000_04-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_04-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_06-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26534 alignnone" alt="Vifocal_C1000_06-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_06-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>

<p><strong>Vifocal C1000: Feature Highlights</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Finger Scanner</span></p>
<p>The Vifocal C1000 is the first smartphone with this technology which unlocks the phone quickly by confirming the identity of the operator by fingerprint recognition.  The scanner is found on the back of the phone.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26537" alt="Vifocal_C1000" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000.jpg?x44794" width="960" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Android 4.4 OS</span></p>
<p>With most smartphones running the Android 4.2 it is a surprise to see the C1000 model running the latest Android 4.4 version. It runs well without any issues though.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_03.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26538" alt="Vifocal_C1000_03" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_03.jpg?x44794" width="960" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_03.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_03-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="line-height: 1.5em">GPS function</span></span></p>
<p>The GPS feature of the Vifocal C1000 was tested and found to function well and utilise many satellites for stability and accuracy. There were no problems whatsoever with its use.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_015.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26539" alt="Vifocal_C1000_015" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_015.jpg?x44794" width="960" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_015.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_015-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline">Extras and Omissions</span></p>
<p>The C1000 has OTG function enabling it to communicate and send data to other devices. Its Bluetooth and WiFi also work well. One disappointment, however, is the lack of NTG function which could be a deterrent for fans of the technology.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_02-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26540 alignleft" alt="Vifocal_C1000_02-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_02-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_013-300x225.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26541 alignnone" alt="Vifocal_C1000_013-300x225" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_013-300x225.jpg?x44794" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Vifocal C1000: Camera/Battery</strong></p>
<p>The camera specifications of the C1000 are 5.0MP front and 8.0MP in the rear. Quite low spec for a high-end smartphone. These are some sample pictures taken with it:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_033-224x300.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26542 alignleft" alt="Vifocal_C1000_033-224x300" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_033-224x300.jpg?x44794" width="224" height="300" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_035-224x300.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26543 alignnone" alt="Vifocal_C1000_035-224x300" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_035-224x300.jpg?x44794" width="224" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_036-224x300.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26544 alignleft" alt="Vifocal_C1000_036-224x300" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_036-224x300.jpg?x44794" width="224" height="300" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_034-224x300.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-26545 alignnone" alt="Vifocal_C1000_034-224x300" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Vifocal_C1000_034-224x300.jpg?x44794" width="224" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>The battery life is standard really, with most users wanting to watch videos and play games on phoes that simply don&#8217;t have the stamina. In this case, the Vifocal C1000 lasts about as long as the others but there is of course always the option of charging both batteries to extend the use of the phone. The 3200 mAh battery provides 2-3 days standby time.</p>
<p><strong>Vifocal C1000: Conclusion</strong></p>
<p>The Vifocal C1000 has many great features, such as the groundbreaking finger scanning technology and running the latest Android 4.4 OS. These positives are counterbalanced with some oversights however, low screen resolution, the quad-core processor and low MP camera options are sure to put people off this otherwise impressive model.</p>

<p>The specifications are pretty impressive and the price is reduced as an introductory offer, currently for sale at around $205 USD, rising to $220 USD standard retail price. Given the specifications and lovely design, you could do far worse for your money.</p>

The new Android 4.4 has a new redesign user interface but generally there is no major change in the UI.</p>
<p><span id="more-16490"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/android-4.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-16492" alt="android-4" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/android-4.jpg?x44794" width="346" height="461" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/android-4.jpg 346w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/android-4-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="(max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px" /></a></p>
<p>The images above might be our first look at redesigned stock apps in Google’s upcoming Android 4.4 “KitKat” update. Although there is no obvious differences, but the look of existing of Android 4.4 KitKat seemed impressed have a similar appearance flat design like look recently adopted by Apple in iOS 7 so some people give the positive impression, criticism, ridicule and even assume that those screen shot is false.</p>

<p>The next version of new Google mobile OS is called KitKat or also known as Android 4.4 OS. Google&#8217;s SVP Sundar Pichai says; &#8220;It&#8217;s our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.&#8221;<br />
<span id="more-15773"></span><br />
At the same time, Google also said that the Android OS has now reached a record $ 1 billion activation. The number also has exceeded 900 million activation announced by Google in May.</p>
<p>Regarding the naming KitKat, Director of Android Global Partnerships, John Lagerling also gave a statement. He said it initially was considering using the name of the Key Lime Pie for Android after Jelly Bean. However, it was thought that only a few people know how to taste key lime pie.</p>
<p>Trademark issues? Not to worry, as Google got Nestle&#8217;s blessing to use the &#8220;Kit Kat&#8221; trademark (albeit without the space), but with a twist. John Lagerling, director of Android global partnerships, explained to the BBC that &#8220;this is not a money-changing-hands kind of deal,&#8221; but instead, they wanted do something &#8220;fun and unexpected.&#8221;</p>
<p>Following one conference call with Nestle back in end of November, the deal was sealed just 24 hours later. And after finalising the details secretly at MWC, the chocolate snack is now doing a joint promotion with Google to give away some Nexus 7s and Google Play credit in the US and the UK. The BBC reports that there will be more than 50 million Kit Kats promoting the Android mascot in 19 markets (including Brazil, India, Japan and Russia), but it&#8217;s not clear whether the giveaway promotion will make its way to those countries as well.</p>
