Since there are not many Android 8.0 Oreo driven phones in the market, Oreo was not seen in the Android distribution chart by <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google</a>. However, it has finally appeared in this month’s Android distribution chart with a percentage of 0.2 percent.</p>
<p>Currently. only the Pixel devices like Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C along with some Nexus devices like Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus Player have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/08/22/android-8-0-oreo-ota-update-now-available-devices-get-now/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received the Android 8.0 Oreo update</a>. These devices probably account for 0.2 percent of market share for Android Oreo.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-151657 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Android-Distribution-Chart-October-2017.png?x44794" alt="" width="772" height="386" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Android-Distribution-Chart-October-2017.png 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Android-Distribution-Chart-October-2017-300x150.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 772px) 100vw, 772px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/09/11/android-8-0-oreo-customs-roms-arrives-popular-samsung-xiaomi-oneplus-motorola-phones/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Android 8.0 Oreo Customs ROMs Arrives for Popular Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola Phones &amp; More</a></strong></p>
<p>Android 8.0 Oreo was introduced on Aug. 22 and even though many smartphone OEMs such as BlackBerry, HTC, Sony, Nokia, Huawei and Motorola have confirmed the list of their devices that will be upgraded to Oreo, none of the smartphones except for Google devices have received the Android 8.0. Google does not consider Android versions that have lower than 0.1 percent distribution. This could be the reason why Oreo was not seen in the Android distribution chart since its launch in August.</p>
<p>With a huge market share of 32 percent, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the Android version that is widely available on Android devices. It is followed by Android Lollipop that is running on 27.7 percent devices. Compared to last month, the market share of Marshmallow and Lollipop have declined. In th previous month, both carried respective market shares of 32.2 percent and 28.8 percent.</p>
<p>Last year’s Android Nougat is still not available on large number of Android devices as it has a market share of 17.8 percent. The market share of the Android KitKat has been reduced to 14.5 percent whereas Jelly Bean has a market share of 7.6 percent. Older versions such as Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread have respective market shares of 0.6 percent.</p>
<p>The aforementioned data was collected during a one-week period that ended on Oct. 2. These stats show that the market share of Android Nougat is slowly increasing. In the last month, Nougat had a market share of 15.8 percent. As far as Oreo is concerned, its market share is expected to improve by the end of year as many smartphone OEMs will begin the process of rolling out Android O.</p>

Since then, newer phones have been gradually receiving the latest Android version. These days many new smartphones also come preinstalled with Nougat. It was launched to replace the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Fresh Android distribution figures until May 2 have emerged that shows the latest numbers on the basis of all kinds of Android devices like smartphones or tablets that have accessed the Google Play Store in the past seven days.</p>
<p>The latest Android distribution reveals that Android 7.0 Nougat is now running on 6.6 percent Android devices whereas the newer 7.1 Nougat is running on 0.5 percent devices. In other words, 7.1 percent devices are running on Nougat. In the last month, Nougat 7.0 and 7.1 were respectively available on 4.5 percent and 0.4 percent (total 4.9 percent) Android devices. Compared to the stats of the previous month, 45 percent more Android devices are running on Nougat OS.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-129453 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Android-Distribution-Figures.png?x44794" alt="Android Distribution Figures" width="835" height="542" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Android-Distribution-Figures.png 835w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Android-Distribution-Figures-300x195.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Android-Distribution-Figures-768x499.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 835px) 100vw, 835px" /></p>

<p>However, the number is still less compared to Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is running on 31.2 percent Android devices. Still, the Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop is leading the pack with a distribution figure of 32 percent. It seems that user base of Android 6.0 Marshmallow may surpass that of Lollipop by the time the next Android distribution figure arrives in the coming month.</p>
<p>The older Android 4.4 KitKat is running on 18.8 percent of Android smartphones and tablets. Behind it are the different versions of Android Jelly Bean such as 4.1.x, 4.2.x, 4.3 and 4.4 that are now running on 9.1 percent Android devices. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich versions like 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 were found on 0.8 percent devices and the Android Gingerbread editions like 2.3.3 – 2.3.7 are running on 1 percent of devices.</p>
<p>Any edition of Android that has a distribution figure of less than 0.1 percent are unavailable on the list. Hence, the other older Android versions such as Froyo, Éclair, Donut and Cupcake cannot be seen on the list. The original build had released in December 2016 and now Google is prepping of Android O. It is pegged to get unveiled at Google I/O 2017 this month and its final version may become available in third quarter of the year.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125394" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-3-Teaser.jpg?x44794" alt="Yotaphone 3" width="910" height="770" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-3-Teaser.jpg 910w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-3-Teaser-300x254.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-3-Teaser-768x650.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-3-Teaser-95x80.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 910px) 100vw, 910px" /></p>
<p>Today the Russian phone startup released a teaser of the upcoming device on its official website. The teaser shows a faint outline of the sides of the phone in a fashion similar to a mirror image. We can make out the curves of the phone and a physical button on one of the sides. There is not much to make out from the teaser apart from the info that says pre-orders begin this summer which should begin in June. So we have two whole months before the Yotaphone 3 is official.</p>
<p>Hopefully before then we should know more about the device. The Yotaphone 3 is expected to feature bigger screens and a better processor. The RAM and storage may also get an upgrade.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125395" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-2-Android-6.0.jpg?x44794" alt="Yotaphone 2 Android 6.0" width="720" height="379" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-2-Android-6.0.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Yotaphone-2-Android-6.0-300x158.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>That&#8217;s not the only good news from Yotaphone. Last week, they also announced on their Facebook page that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Yotaphone 2 is now available. If you own one, all you have to do is head to the “About Phone” section under settings and tap on “System Update”. If the update has reached your phone, then you should be able to download it. The change-log wasn&#8217;t provided but at least you get a new android version. We do hope the Yotaphone launches with Android Nougat.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The ZTE Blade A2 Plus boasts the usual features you will find in an average mid-range device. There is a 5.5-inch full HD display, hybrid dual-SIM slots (nano only), a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front facing camera. However, while most of these mid-range phones offer very similar specs, ZTE has made an effort to stand out.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-116948" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/ZTE-Blade-A2-Plus.jpg?x44794" alt="ZTE Blade A2 Plus" width="225" height="300" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Blade A2Plus&#8217;s has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear that is clickable. So apart from unlocking your phone, you can long press on it to turn on the flashlight; double click to take photos; and a single click will take screenshots.  ZTE has also incorporated features similar to Google&#8217;s fingerprint gestures. So swiping down the fingerprint scanner on any screen will bring up your notification drawer and swiping up will bring up recent apps. The Blade A2 Plus also packs a massive 5000mAh battery.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">ZTE&#8217;s Blade A2 Plus has a MTK6750T processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage which can be increased via one of the SIM slots doubling as a microSD card slot. There is VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro USB port.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The ZTE Blade A2 Plus ships with MiFavor 3.5 which is based on Android Marshmallow. It will be sold exclusively on Flipkart starting on Monday for Rs. 11,999(~$179) and you can choose from either gold or grey color variants.</p>

If you remember, the Chinese phone maker launched the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/15/vivo-v5-20mp-sony-imx376-selfie-camera-official/">Vivo V5</a> back in November but the V5 Plus is actually the device you want to look at.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The unique selling point of the Vivo V5 Plus is its dual front-facing cameras. The combo is a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens, while the second camera is an 8MP f/2.0 shooter. The cameras work the same way the iPhone 7 Plus’ cameras work. The larger sensor takes the image while the 8MP camera captures depth information. There is also a selfie softlight flash in front in case you need to take shots in poorly lit places.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-115764" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Plus.jpg?x44794" alt="Vivo V5 Plus" width="728" height="582" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Plus.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Plus-300x240.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Vivo V5 Plus is a phone first before a camera, so there is a 5.5-inch full HD screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a Snapdragon 625 processor under the hood. The rear camera is a 16MP f/2.0 sensor that can record 4K videos and there is a 3160mAh battery that supplies juice.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Vivo has opted for a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and has put the same custom-made AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip present in the Vivo V5 in it. The Vivo V5 Plus with its wonderful features actually disappoints by shipping with Vivo&#8217;s FunTouch OS 3.0 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We had hoped the delay in the launch will see it coming with Android Nougat instead.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/07/vivo-x9-unboxing-teardown-images/">Vivo X9 Unboxing and Teardown Images</a><span id="more-115763"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Vivo V5 Plus is an all-metal phone that weighs 158.6g. Its dimensions are 152.58 x 74 x 7.26 mm, which is a bit surprising as the Vivo V5 which has a smaller battery is thicker at 7.6mm. The phone is available only in Gold and should launch in India,  Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand soon.</p>

One of the good news is that Google&#8217;s first mobile OS, Android 2.2 Froyo launched in May 2010 is almost extinct, as it is not listed on the chart. What this means is that the maiden Google OS is presently installed in less than 0.1% of devices globally.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/19/xiaomi-miui-8-android-7-0-nougat-close-beta-roll-begins/android-7-0-nougat/" rel="attachment wp-att-111921"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-111921" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Android-7.0-Nougat.jpg?x44794" alt="android-7-0-nougat" width="1024" height="569" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Android-7.0-Nougat.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Android-7.0-Nougat-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Android-7.0-Nougat-768x427.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Apparently, some persons are still stuck in the past as Google&#8217;s earlier second and third gen operating system, Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich still posted 1.0% and 1.1% in the distribution chart. The figures are declining, though, as they were both at 1.2% in December.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/android-chart/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-114830" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/android-chart.jpg?x44794" alt="Android" width="728" height="404" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/android-chart.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/android-chart-300x166.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2017/01/08/nokia-launch-viki-voice-assistant-rival-siri-google-assistant/">Nokia to Launch Viki Voice Assistant to Rival Siri, Google Assistant?</a></strong></p>
<p>Amdroid 5.1 Lolipop still tops the chart with a total of 33.3% on the distribution chart, this is closely followed by Android Marshmallow with 29.6%. Android KitKat comes in at the third position with 22.6%, while Android Jelly Bean completes the top 4 with 11.6%. Google&#8217;s latest  mobile OS, Android 7.0 Nougat is still at its lowest ebb, with a 0.7% distribution figure four months after it was released. That figure is expected to spike this year anyway, as more and more Android smartphones adopt or get upgrades to Android Nougat.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">MIUI&#8217;s operations manager @RanGer posted on Weibo that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is being developed for the Snapdragon version of the Redmi Note 3. He mentioned that beta testing was supposed to begin yesterday but due to some problems that have not been ironed out, the beta program has been postponed. There is no news yet on the new date, so if you are eager to start testing, you might want to exercise a little bit of patience.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">In the mean time, you can keep yourself busy by trying out the new features of MIUI 8.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">Related: <span style="color: #3366ff"><a style="color: #3366ff" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/24/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-official-helio-x20-4100mah-battery-135/">Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Official</a></span></span><span id="more-95388"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The post however makes no mention of the mediatek version. There are tens of thousands of people who own the Helio X10 version of the Redmi Note 3 (yours truly included) and it will be a great disservice if it doesn&#8217;t get updated to Marshmallow. It might even discourage people from picking up newer Xiaomi phones that have a mediatek processor such as the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/27/xiaomi-redmi-pro-official-13mp-dual-cameras-helio-x25/">Redmi Pro</a>, as there is a chance the company will release a version with a Qualcomm SoC that gets all the attention. Oh! We already covered a leak of a phone said to be the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/01/xiaomi-redmi-pro-mini-surfaces-sd-652-5-2-inch-display-board/">Redmi Pro Mini which has a Snapdragon 652 processor</a>. <figure id="attachment_82281" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-82281" style="width: 600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-82281 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/honor-v8-image-01.jpg?x44794" alt="honor v8 image 01" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/honor-v8-image-01.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/honor-v8-image-01-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/honor-v8-image-01-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-82281" class="wp-caption-text">Honor V8</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: left">We&#8217;ve been able to lay our hands on renders of a white version of the upcoming phone. It doesn&#8217;t look bad at all. The front camera and sensor are positioned in the same place as that of the Honor V8. If both phones are placed side by side, the only way to tell the difference will be by the screen size. The back is where the changes are. The camera lens don&#8217;t share a single lens glass like that of the V8 and the laser and LED flash are standing vertically. Another the difference is the fingerprint scanner which is a circle on the Honor 8 but looks more like a squircle on the V8.</p>
<p style="text-align: left">The Honor 8 will come with a 5.2 FHD display, come in 3 versions: 3GB RAM + 32GB, 4GB RAM + 32GB, and 4GB RAM + 64GB; and be powered by a Kirin 950 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The dual cameras at the back are 12MP and there is an 8MP up front for selfies. Battery is 3150mAh with fast charging and it will come with Android 6.0 out of the box with pricing starting at $306.</p>

<p>Huawei is going to release the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/28/huawei-confirms-honor-8-launch-event-july-11-shanghai/">Honor 8 on July 11</a> and it seems that isn&#8217;t the only phone launching. This new phone showed up at TENAA with model number EDI-DL00 and is sort of a max version of the Honor 8. So, could it be called <strong>Honor 8 Max</strong>? While we wait for the official name to be confirmed, let&#8217;s take a look at some of the specs.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88023" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-5.jpg?x44794" alt="honor 8 max 5" width="600" height="327" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-5.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-5-300x164.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The phone will feature a massive 6.6&#8221; screen with a 2K resolution, a Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM,and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Huawei has decided to give the phone a 4400mAh battery which we expect should support fast charge.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88020" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-2.jpg?x44794" alt="honor 8 max 2" width="480" height="640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-2.jpg 480w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-2-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Sadly, the &#8221;Honor 8 Max&#8221; will not get the dual camera treatment like its other siblings. Camera configuration is 8MP in front and 13MP at the rear. Dimensions are 178.8 x 90.9 x 7.18 (mm) and weight has been kept at 219 grams.</p>
<p>For a phone this large, you&#8217;d expect Huawei to put the fingerprint scanner in front or positioned lower even if it is going to be at the back, but it sits at the upper part. So unless you have really large hands (and long fingers), unlocking the phone might pose some difficulties.</p>
<div id="su_carousel_6a45b75813805" class="su-carousel su-carousel-centered su-carousel-pages-no su-carousel-responsive-yes" style="width:100%" data-autoplay="3000" data-speed="600" data-mousewheel="true" data-items="3" data-scroll="1"><div class="su-carousel-slides"><div class="su-carousel-slide"><a><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-182x140.jpg?x44794" alt="honor V8 max" /></a></div><div class="su-carousel-slide"><a><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-4-182x140.jpg?x44794" alt="honor 8 max 4" /></a></div><div class="su-carousel-slide"><a><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-3-182x140.jpg?x44794" alt="honor 8 max 3" /></a></div><div class="su-carousel-slide"><a><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/honor-8-max-2-182x140.jpg?x44794" alt="honor 8 max 2" /></a></div></div><div class="su-carousel-nav"><div class="su-carousel-direction"><span class="su-carousel-prev"></span><span class="su-carousel-next"></span></div><div class="su-carousel-pagination"></div></div></div>
<p>If the &#8221;Honor 8 Max&#8221; is meant to take on the Xiaomi Mi Max, it&#8217;ll do well to be priced at more or less the same price range as its rival. The Mi Max while sporting a smaller FHD screen (6.44&#8221;) features a larger battery(4850mAh), has NFC, and cost $230 for  650 processor; $260 for the 3GB/32GB with a SD652 chipset; and $307 for the 4GB/128GB version with the snapdragon 652 SoC.</p>

<h2>Elephone Four Product Launch 2016 coming on the 15th</h2>
<p>The Elephone Four Product Launch 2016 has now been given an official time and date, at 2.30pm (GMT+8) on January the 15th you will be given full details of four Elephone products.</p>
<p>The P9000 handsets will be shown along with full product details and specifications, hopefully including a chance to see a finalised version of the P9000 Edge, as whilst most of the phones specs are well documented having been covered as part of the recent crowd funding promotion, the P9000 Edge has yet to be seen in the wild, hopefully it can live up to the renders that have been shown previously.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-69736" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="P9000 Black White Front" width="800" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-600x338.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-640x360.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front-681x383.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/p9000-Black-White-Front.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p><span class="s1">Their will also be coverage of the Elephone W2 watch, from what we have seen and been told so far it will feature a</span> stainless steel case comparable in quality to those produced by high end watch manufacturers such as Longines and Ronda, along with an internal movement used by makers like Cartier, these are certainly very bold statements to make and a lot of people will doubt them, so lets wait and see if the W2 watch lives up to them.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69756" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2.jpg?x44794" alt="ele watch w2" width="999" height="599" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2.jpg 999w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-300x180.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-600x360.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-700x420.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-640x384.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-681x408.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 999px) 100vw, 999px" /></a></p>
<p>When it comes to features a cool looking illuminated night light, and will support smart functions such as sleep and sports monitoring, sedentary reminders, call reminders and is compatible with both IOS and Android operating systems.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69753" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3.jpg?x44794" alt="ele watch w2-3" width="999" height="620" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3.jpg 999w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3-300x186.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3-600x372.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3-677x420.jpg 677w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3-640x397.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-3-681x423.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 999px) 100vw, 999px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">Overall the design looks high end and is visually pleasing, the changeable real leather watch strap should also add to the sense of quality and give it a touch of style.</p>
<p class="p1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69754" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4.jpg?x44794" alt="ele watch w2-4" width="999" height="629" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4.jpg 999w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4-300x189.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4-600x378.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4-667x420.jpg 667w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4-640x403.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-4-681x429.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 999px) 100vw, 999px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">Elephone will be giving a 50% discount on the watch as part of the Elephone Four Product Launch 2016, but we will need to wait till the 15th to find out exactly what we need to do in order to take advantage of the 50% off offer and if it will be limited to a certain number of applicants.</p>
<p class="p1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69755" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5.jpg?x44794" alt="ele watch w2-5" width="999" height="707" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5.jpg 999w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5-300x212.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5-600x425.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5-593x420.jpg 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5-640x453.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ele-watch-w2-5-681x482.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 999px) 100vw, 999px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">Another handset that will be covered as part of the Elephone Four Product Launch 2016, is the M3 Business phone, it will come in two different specification levels, with the differences between versions being the camera and memory specifications.</p>
<p class="p1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-69738" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-1024x632.png?x44794" alt="Elephone M3 Pro" width="800" height="494" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-1024x632.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-300x185.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-600x370.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-681x420.png 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-640x395.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro.png 1399w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">The top of spec M3 includes a 5.5″ LG screen, USB Type-C 3.0, 21MP Sony230 camera, Android 6.0 and fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p class="p1">Both versions of the M3 feature Network B allowing them to be used all around the world including America.</p>
<p class="p1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-69737" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold.png?x44794" alt="Elephone M3 Pro Rose Gold" width="1021" height="770" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold.png 1021w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-300x226.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-600x452.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-557x420.png 557w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-100x75.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-180x135.png 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-238x178.png 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-640x483.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Elephone-M3-Pro-Rose-Gold-681x514.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1021px) 100vw, 1021px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">The aviation grade aluminium body will come in a range of three colours rose gold, champagne gold and smoky grey.</p>
<div class="description">
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">As mentioned above there will be a mystery product covered at the Elephone Products Conference 2016, what do you think it will be? another handset range? perhaps a Vape unit? possibly a drone? its hard to say with Elephone as they are constantly evolving their range of products, meaning that we will have to wait for the Elephone Products Conference 2016 to find out for sure.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Elephone will be updating their official twitter, Google+, Facebook and VK accounts throughout the day, allowing you to keep up with the updates as they happen.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">So will you be tuning in for the Elephone Four Product Launch 2016? are you waiting to find out more about the P9000 Edge? or are you intrigued by the mystery device? </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Elephone have recently tried very hard to shake off their image as a provider of good hardware with limited support, their use of higher quality components has helped as has the work they have done with software updates for older handsets.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">  I have personally been using my Elephone P8000 again from the 1st of January (having lost my Samsung S5) the handset has come on leaps and bounds with recent OS updates making it into the phone it should have been at launch.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">If they can bring out the P9000 and M3 phones with a great rom and the attention to detail they deserve this could be the year that Elephone return to favour, if they get the software wrong however it could be hard to come back from.</span></p>
<p class="p1">Please feel free to leave comments or questions below</p>
<p class="p1">Regards Shane</p>

</div>
<div class="description">
<p><a href="http://oukitel.cc/">Oukitel</a> are all set to release the new improved K4000 Pro, lets have a look at the specs of both phones and see what improvements Oukitel have managed to make to the new handset.</p>
<p>The new K4000 Pro will be seen by many as more of a K4000+ the  newer handset sees some styling tweaks and some under the hood enhancements that  should make the original K4000 even better.</p>
<h2>So whats not been changed?</h2>
<p class="p1">Both the original K4000 and the newer K4000 Pro feature 5-inch HD displays (1280 x 720p resolution) and are powered by 1ghz Quad-Core 64bit Cortex-A53 Mediatek MT6735P processors, these are not the most powerful CPU&#8217;s but should do an ok job for most everyday needs.</p>
<p class="p1">Ram and Rom configurations are the same between both handsets with 16GB ROM  and 2GB RAM and both feature the same camera pairing of 8.0 mega pixel (13 Mega Pixel interpolated) rear facing camera and 2.0 Mega Pixel (5 Mega Pixel interpolated) front facing camera.</p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Like the original K4000 the newer K4000 Pro will come with Android Lollipop 5.1, with a confirmed upgrade path to Android Lollipop 6.0 on the K4000 Pro. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Given that both handsets share a lot of components in common, it would be a fairly safe bet that the original K4000 will also see the upgrade to 6.0 </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">USB OTG functions like reverse charging will also make a return on the K4000 pro, when used with an OTG cable.</span></p>
<h2>So whats changed?</h2>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The original OUKITEL K4000 featured a large removable 4000mAh battery, whilst the K4000 Pro sees an increased to 4600mAh whilst still remaining removable.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">In order to make maximum use of the battery without making charge times to long, Oukitel have increased the original K4000 charging from 5V/1.0A  to 5V/1.5A this is a 0.5A increase in charging power and should see both the K4000 Pro and the K4000 fully charged within 3-3.5 hours.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Oukitel have also improved network coverage on the K4000 Pro, both handsets support the following bands, 2G(GSM850/900/1800/1900MH) and 3G(WCDMA 900/2100MHz) </span><span class="s1"> 4G FDD LTE B1/3/7/20 (2100/1800/2600/800MHz). the newer K4000 Pro adds one more band: B8 (900MHz).</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">There have also been a few structural changes K4000 pro, the screen is now 1.1mm thick, making the glass more durable and up to three times stronger, the K4000 Pro also has an  improved corner design to its 2.5D CNC ARC craft metal design, that should help the phone to further resist damage when dropped.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Another improvement to the phone comes in the styling department, the Oukitel K4000 Pro now has a</span><span class="s2"> crocodile leather textured back cover, this should hopefully make the phone comfortable in the hand whilst also helping to reduce the chances of dropping the phone.</span></p>
<p class="p1">As soon as a review sample finds its way to me, I will do a full handset review.</p>
<p class="p1">So what do you guys think? does the Oukitel K4000 Pro have enough extras for you? are you a K4000 owner? would you consider purchasing the new model for its improved battery? or will you wait for the K6000 Pro? or perhaps one of the other great phones that are due this year.</p>
<p class="p1">Hopefully Oukitel will continue the strong push they had at the end of 2015 and will start to bring out more 2016 phones with processing power to match their impressive batteries.</p>
<p class="p1">For now please leave comments and questions below.</p>
<p class="p1">Regards Shanos</p>
<p class="p1">The original K4000 can be <a href="http://shrsl.com/?~ayj5">purchased here</a></p>

<h2 class="p3">Oukitel K4000 Pro with Android Marshmallow</h2>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">It would seem that a lot of China based phone companies are looking to get on to the Marshmallow band waggon at the moment, Oukitel not wanting to be left behind have been working on the <a href="http://www.oukitel.cc">Oukitel</a> K4000 Pro with Android Marshmallow.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">From the information received today it would appear that this is  not the K4000 Pro&#8217;s official Rom, but is however the work of some of their technical guys.</span></p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">It would appear that their curiosity got the better of them and they decided to see if they could endow the Oukitel K4000 Pro with Android Marshmallow via a port of the highly regarded CyanogenMod 13 ROM.</span></p>
<p class="p3">I would love to see it in action and get a list of whats working and more importantly whats not working, but for now will have to make do with the knowledge that Oukitel are at least trying.</p>
<p class="p3">Not much more is known about the K4000 Pro, we do know that like its non Pro little brother it will come with a 5000mAh battery, and that the battery works with Flash Charge Technology (5v/1.5a) to give fast charge times.</p>
<p class="p2">The K4000 Pro will also feature a 2.5D curved Arc design screen that is 1.1mm thick (as opposed to 0.7mm which is standard for most phones), this should help to make the screen a lot more resistant to drop based cracking.</p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">Whilst not shown in the picture, It has also been confirmed that the rear cover will feature a crocodile skin textured plastic design.</span></p>
<p class="p3">The K4000 Pro comes with support for the following networks</p>
<p class="p3"><span class="s1">4G LTE FDD Five-Band: 800/ 900/ 1800/ 2100/ 2600 </span></p>
<p class="p3">I will keep you informed as and when we get more news and information on the K4000 Pro</p>
<p class="p3">For now please feel free to leave any questions or comments below.</p>

<p class="p3"><span class="s3">Elephone have given the Ivory 2GB of Ram and 16GB of ROM, for those of you that want more storage the Elephone Ivory also has support for up to 128GB Micro SD cards.</span></p>
<p class="p3">Elephone have chosen to go with a 13MP rear facing camera (hopefully this will not be an interpolated 8mp sensor) and a 2mp front facing selfie camera.</p>
<p class="p3">What could be one of the phones most impressive features upon release, is not a hardware based feature at all.</p>
<p class="p3">The Elephone Ivory will be one of the first China phones to come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, it will be interesting to see how Elephone get on with optimising the new OS for the phone.</p>

The 3GB + 32GB version starts at 2999 Yuan ($469), 4GB + 64GB at 3699 Yuan ($578) and finally 4GB + 128GB at 4399 Yuan ($688).</h4>
<p>After so many weeks of teasers and rumors, Huawei has unveiled the brand new Huawei Mate 8 flagship. This is the second device in the Mate family this year, with the Mate S launched just a couple of months back.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-65557" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-Mate-8-01" width="800" height="1535" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01-156x300.jpg 156w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01-534x1024.jpg 534w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01-600x1151.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01-219x420.jpg 219w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01-640x1228.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-01-681x1307.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Huawei Mate 8 will stand right on top of the Mate family, featuring top-end specs. The device, as confirmed earlier will feature the company&#8217;s brand new<strong> TSMC&#8217;s 16nm based Kirin 950</strong> chipset. The chip is one of the fastest available SoCs in the market, at least according to the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/11/19/huawei-mate-8-spotted-on-antutu-scores-above-79000-points/"> recent benchmark tests</a>. It features quad <em>Cortex A72 cores clocked at 2.3GHz</em> and quad <em>Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz</em> making sure there&#8217;s balance between high-performance and efficiency. Huawei revealed at the unveiling that the new <em>CPU provides 100% improvement as compared to previous generation</em>. The <em>GPU is even better with 125% improvement.</em></p>
<p>There will be three variants of the device, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage, another with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and finally the third one with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. We still don&#8217;t know whether there will be a MicroSD card slot present.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-65558" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-Mate-8-02" width="800" height="1744" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02-138x300.jpg 138w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02-470x1024.jpg 470w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02-600x1308.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02-193x420.jpg 193w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02-640x1395.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Huawei-Mate-8-02-681x1485.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the display, the phone comes with<strong> negative LCD screen with 95 percent color gamut</strong>, better than the iPhone 6S Plus, as the company pointed out at the launch today. Its a large <strong>6-inch screen with FHD 1920 x 1080p resolution</strong>. There&#8217;s a diamond cut <strong>2.5D glass</strong> on top to improve the looks. The company has particularly focused on the quality of workmanship. The Mate 8 comes with an all metal body as we saw in the earlier leaked renders. What&#8217;s more, the company has kept the <strong>bezels to a minimum,</strong> measuring just <strong>2.7mm on the sides.</strong></p>
<p>Coming to the camera department, you get the latest <strong>Sony IMX298 16MP camera sensor</strong> at the back with dual LED flash. This is a larger sensor as compared to the one found on the Mate 7 as well as iPhone 6S. It also features a brand new<strong> ISP  and features such as intelligent scene recognition and slo-motion video</strong> capture at 120 fps. Up front, you get an <strong>8MP shooter with special beauty algorithms for better selfies.</strong></p>
<p>As for battery, Huawei has smartly incorporated a 4<strong>000mAh capacity high-density battery</strong> inside, which should be able to power the device for a day long. In fact, according to company&#8217;s official figures, the phone should last for about<em> 2.36 days on average usage and 1.6 days of heavy usage.</em></p>
<p>The phone also features the <strong>fast fingerprint sensor at the back</strong> like the Mate 7. Other notable specs include VoLTE, dual SIM dual standby with 4G support and NFC.</p>
<p>Finally, for software, you will get the latest<strong> Android 6.0 Marshmallow version with Huawei&#8217;s own Emotion UI on top</strong>. There are many software specific features such as Knuckle Touch 2.0, Split Screen multi-tasking, smart SMS etc.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the company has not revealed the exact date of availability or even the pricing. For that we will have to <strong>wait until next year, as Huawei will showcase it at CES 2016.</strong></p>
<p>So, what do you think about the Huawei Mate 8? Impressed?</p>

Now, ASUS has just revealed some of the models which will get Android M update in the coming months.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Download-Android-6.0-Marshmallow.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-61542" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Download-Android-6.0-Marshmallow.jpg?x44794" alt="Download-Android-6.0-Marshmallow" width="500" height="250" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Download-Android-6.0-Marshmallow.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Download-Android-6.0-Marshmallow-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a></p>
<p>ASUS revealed on its official Zentalk forums that most of the latest models will be upgraded to the new Android 6.0 operating system. The list of models which will be upgraded are as follow:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>PadFoneS (PF500KL)</strong></li>
<li><strong>ZenFone2 (ZE550ML/ZE551ML)</strong></li>
<li><strong>ZenFone2 Deluxe / Special Edition (ZE551ML)</strong></li>
<li><strong>ZenFone2 Laser (ZE500KG/ZE500KL/ZE550KL/ZE600KL/ZE601KL)</strong></li>
<li><strong>ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>As you can see, the recent models are supported for the upgrade. However, the company has decided to leave out older models such as the ZenFone 5 and the first generation versions out of the upgrade. Not surprising given that they are more than a year old.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the company has not revealed when you can expect the Android M update. Considering the company&#8217;s timing of lollipop update this year, we can expect the Android 6 rollout to start only by a few months into 2016.</p>
