German Automaker BMW is partnering with French e-bike firm Angell Mobility to deliver Mini Electric Bicycles. BMW has a wide array of products and its iconic bikes are part of the portfolio. The firm is now expanding its reach by entering the growing e-bike industry. BMW also has an impressive collection of powerful and high-performance motorbikes. Its two-wheeler sub-brand Motorrad has been very successful and its electric mobility portfolio is also expanding.

The new BMW-Angell collaboration will deliver electric bikes under the Mini brand. This comes at a time when Mini has continued to expand its EV capabilities with several electric vehicles. The Mini Cooper EV SE is reportedly due for release anytime soon and the new Mini electric bicycles are an added boost. The Mini Cooper EV SE is a cute, lifestyle-focused EV and it will be complemented by the new Mini electric bicycle.

Angell Mobility hopes to use the new Mini e-bikes to make a frontal assault on the market three years after its entry. The bike comes with a unique design and promises an impressive performance. Angell plans to expand its distribution network across Europe as it continues to expand its lineup.

The partnership between BMW and Angell is part of BMW’s strategy of moving towards all-electric bikes. According to Mini’s chief executive, Stefani Wurst, the success of the brand is driven by a focus on sustainability and a minimal environmental footprint. This is also resulting in more customers embracing the brand. A move into the e-bike market is therefore the logical next step for the company, according to Wurst.

There are no fine details on the upcoming Mini-Angell electric bicycles. It is however expected that the models will be focused on performance, style, and practicality.
