Anker appears to be preparing an updated version of its Nano 45W wall charger, and this time the focus is on smarter features rather than shrinking the size. Details of the accessory, reportedly called the Anker Nano 45W Wall Charger with Smart Display (model A2693), surfaced on August 28 through AnkerInsider.

The new charger is said to measure 43 x 36 x 35 mm, making it about 40% larger than the current Nano 45W (model A2692), which comes in at 33 x 32 x 36.9 mm. Even so, it keeps a compact form with folding pins and a single USB-C port that can deliver up to 45W. Anker is expected to release the charger globally before the end of the year.

The headline feature here is the addition of a small smart display, paired with Bluetooth connectivity and support for the Anker app. According to the leak, users will be able to view charging status in real time, schedule charging sessions, and enable a battery protection mode.

That mode is reportedly compatible with the iPhone 15/16 series and USB-C iPads released after 2020. It may pause charging when the battery temperature is too high or too low, similar to Anker’s Laptop Power Bank (model A1695). Competing chargers such as Belkin’s BoostCharge 67W already include comparable safeguards, though Anker’s focus here seems to be tighter app integration.

One limitation is the single-port design. Users who want to charge multiple devices may find options like Belkin’s 67W 3-Port USB-C charger more suitable.

The Nano 45W with Smart Display was first hinted at in July and, if the leaks prove accurate, will represent a shift in Anker’s charger lineup toward smart functionality rather than just compact design.

Anker, the globally renowned consumer electronics manufacturer based in the Hunan province of China, announced the Anker Nano 3, the brand’s latest GaN fast charger in its official launch event in China today.

The Anker Nano 3 is a 30 W GaN compact fast charger from the company. As the name suggests, it only weighs in at a very light 30 grams and is 28.5 mm x 28.5 mm x 35.5 mm in dimensions. The charger only has one output charging port and it is a USB-C port that can deliver up to 30 watts of power.

Accompanied by the lightweight compact form factor are some very vibrant color options to choose from. The Anker Nano 3 30 W is available in 5 different colors to choose from, which are Shadow Black, Aurora White, Nature Green, Lavender Purple, and Morning Mist Blue.

As a lightweight travel adapter, the Anker Nano 3 also features connector pins that can be folded when not in use and unfolded when you need to connect to a power outlet. 

As for the performance of the Anker Nano 3, Anker is making some bold claims that the Nano 3 can charge the iPhone 13 Pro Max from dead to 50% in half an hour, the M2 Macbook Air from dead to 50% in 58 minutes, and the iPad Air M1 (5th Generation) from dead to 50% in 45 minutes.

The specific charging standards of the Anker Nano 3 are listed as 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/2A, 20V/1.5A whilst PPS charging support is 3.3V to 11V across 3A (30 W Max), or 3.3V to 16V across 2A (30 W Max).

The Anker Nano 3 also goes by two other model names as well which are respectively, the Anker 511 Charger, and the Anker A2147 Charger.

The Anker Nano 3 goes on sale from today onwards in China starting from 119 RMB (18 USD) and comes with an official 24-month warranty for the charger in China.

Earlier this week, Apple announced a new color variant for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini. The new purple color is already available for pre-order and will go on sale next week.

Just like the other color options, this too won’t come with a charger in the box, so you have to purchase one if you don’t have a spare lying around. One of the recommended chargers you can pick up is the Anker Nano (Anker PowerPort III Nano 20W), a 20W USB-C charger that’s no bigger than Apple’s 5W charger. The good thing is that the charger now comes in a colorway that matches the new purple iPhones.

The purple Anker Nano charger seems to be China-exclusive as we didn’t find it on Anker’s US and UK websites. This is also a bundle as it comes with a matching braided USB-C to Lightning cable included in the package (doesn’t come with a cable by default).

The Anker Nano is 50% smaller than Apple’s own iPhone 12 20W USB-C charger. It is also 3x faster than the 5W charger and will charge the iPhone 12 from 0 to 50% in 25 minutes.

The charger is also compatible with older iPhones up to the iPhone 8, all generations of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the 3rd and 4th gen iPad Air, and the 7th and 8th gen iPad. It is also compatible with Samsung’s Galaxy S10, Galaxy S9, and Galaxy S8 series as well as the Pixel 2 and up. Anker says it will also work for the Nintendo Switch but does not support charge-and-Play in TV mode.

The Anker Nano bundle (with cable) is priced at ¥298 (~$46)on Tmall. You can also buy just the power adapter for ¥99 (~$15). While we would love to see Anker make the charger available in matching colors for the other colorways of the iPhone 12 series, the only other color available is Green and it too comes with a matching braided cable.
