<p>Unlike its BBK siblings Oppo and Vivo,<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus"> OnePlus </a>hasn&#8217;t launched a foldable phone yet. The company confirmed earlier this year that a folding phone will launch soon, and today we get an official teaser of what is supposed to be called the OnePlus Open. The Chinese brand has yet to reveal a launch date, but the teaser might suggest a launch sometime later this month.</p>

<h2>OnePlus Open is closing in on its debut</h2>

<p>In a <a href="https://twitter.com/OnePlus_IN/status/1711382458657030390">post on X</a> (formerly Twitter), OnePlus teased an upcoming smartphone with the caption &#8216;A true OnePlus experience awaits. Opening soon.&#8217; The silhouette of the phone confirms it&#8217;s a foldable phone, and the wordplay in the caption points to the name we have been hearing for a couple of months—the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-fold">OnePlus Open</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="577" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-1024x577.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-573511" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-1024x577.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-768x433.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-1068x602.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser-746x420.webp 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/oneplus-open-india-teaser.webp 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The upcoming OnePlus foldable phone is rumored to be a rebranded Oppo Find N3 Fold. This is supported by a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/06/oppo-find-n3-fold-global-variant-appears-on-geekbench-expected-to-be-rebranded-oneplus-open/">recent Geekbench listing</a> of the phone, as well as images of Indian actress<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/30/indian-actress-spotted-using-unreleased-oneplus-open/"> Anushka Sharma using a device</a> that matches previous renders of the Find N3 Fold. This is actually good news since Oppo’s book-style foldables are pretty good but they are not released outside China.</p>

<p>Previous leaks suggest the OnePlus Open will debut in India on October 19. As for the specifications, the OnePlus Open is likely to feature a 7.8-inch 2K internal display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable phone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It might also come equipped with a 4,800mAh battery, supporting 67W fast charging.</p>

They&#8217;ve gone to Weibo with a teaser for a new announcement taking place tomorrow, though there&#8217;s no mention of what they plan to launch. Along with that, they&#8217;ve posted a poster to go along with the teaser, asking people to essentially gear up for the announcement.</p>
<p>While we may not know what the announcement is for, we&#8217;ve got a pretty good idea for what it&#8217;ll be. Flyme, the custom user interface for the Android operating system from good old <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu">Meizu</a>, is getting a new update, and a few months ago they teased the launch date of the new Flyme 8 as the 13th of August, which is tomorrow.</p>
<p><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><b>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </b><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/12/meizu-16s-pro-render-leak/"><b>Alleged render of Meizu 16S Pro surfaces online with curved display and triple rear cameras</b></a></div></div></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-269592" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/9ff831e3gy1g5wmtedkgzj20u01e0n4n.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="690" height="1150" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/9ff831e3gy1g5wmtedkgzj20u01e0n4n.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/9ff831e3gy1g5wmtedkgzj20u01e0n4n-180x300.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/9ff831e3gy1g5wmtedkgzj20u01e0n4n-614x1024.jpg 614w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/9ff831e3gy1g5wmtedkgzj20u01e0n4n-252x420.jpg 252w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>What we&#8217;re not sure about is whether Flyme 8 is the only big announcement they have for tomorrow. We&#8217;ve seen <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/01/meizu-4g-smartphones-certified/">multiple leaks</a> for several different Meizu devices as of late, and it&#8217;s fully possible that we&#8217;ll see at least one of these devices launch alongside the new UI. We don&#8217;t expect to see <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/09/meizu-16s-pro-3c-certified-with-24w-rapid-charger/">the new flagship Meizu 16S Pro</a>, but we wouldn&#8217;t be surprised to see a new mid-range device come out of this.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re very eager to see what exactly Meizu has in store for us tomorrow. While we&#8217;d love to see the company announce something big, it&#8217;s more than likely they&#8217;ll just have a small announcement for Flyme 8. I hope that they manage come out of their situation relatively fine though, I&#8217;ve been an avid fan of the company and would hate to see them disappear.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: center"><strong>UP NEXT: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/29/meizu-lays-off-stores-shut-down/">Meizu again lays off employees; closes down several stores in China</a></strong></h4>
