<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> has been working on expanding its lineup of hardware portfolio with the launch of a couple of new devices aiming to make the company future-proof. The technology giant has been working on VR/AR headsets and AR Glasses.</p>

<p>Apple AR Glasses, which is a different product from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mixed-reality">mixed reality</a> or AR/VR headset that the company is planning to launch later this year, has reportedly been delayed for launch yet again.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-1024x512.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple AR Glasses" class="wp-image-509835" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-1024x512.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-300x150.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-768x384.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-696x348.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-1068x534.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses-840x420.jpeg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-AR-Glasses.jpeg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>As per the latest report, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-ar-glasses">Apple AR Glasses</a> have been put on hold or postponed indefinitely due to technical issues. Earlier, the device was set to debut this year but was postponed to 2024 or 2025, and now it appears to have been put on hold without any release timeline.</p>

<p>Apple isn&#8217;t the only one working on AR Glasses or similar hardware. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a>, which started all these with Google Glasses, is working on a new device under Project Iris, while Meta is working on Nazare, both of which are expected to debut in 2024.</p>

<p>While the AR Glasses-type products won&#8217;t be ready to wear full-time for users, companies like Google and Meta have taken an alternate approach. Google says that it would begin testing prototypes while <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meta">Meta</a>&#8216;s Nazare, Artemis, and Hypernova products will initially be given only to developers. This buys the company enough time to work on the device that users can use for an extended period of time without any side effects.</p>

<p>Apple&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-ar">AR/VR</a> or Mixed Reality Headset is set to debut with a price tag of around $3,000 and packing desktop-like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 chip</a>. However, the company is expected to launch a relatively cheaper model in 2024 or 2025 with a starting price closer to around $1,500, which will compete against the products like Meta Quest Pro.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> has been reported to be working on its AR Glasses for a long time now, and recent reports indicated that the company is gearing up to soon launch the AR device. But now, the latest report indicates that the launch of the upcoming Apple AR Glasses could have been delayed.</p>

<p>The Cupertino-based technology giant is still on track to launch the AR/VR headset next year, but the <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/apples-ar-glasses-could-be-pushed-back-to-2025-or-2026-amid-design-issues-says-analyst-11667500335">report</a> from Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research indicates that the launch of the Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-ar-glasses">AR Glasses</a> has been delayed by a few more years</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-1024x512.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple AR Glasses" class="wp-image-494272" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-1024x512.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-300x150.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-768x384.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-696x348.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-1068x534.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses-840x420.jpeg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Apple-AR-Glasses.jpeg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The report indicates that the AR Glasses from Apple have been postponed to the year 2025 or 2026, mainly because of design issues. It appears to be a major issue, given that the earlier report from Jeff Pu had indicated that the augmented reality device could be announced as soon as 2024.</p>

<p>As of now, there&#8217;s no information available on what exactly is the problem that the company is facing and the term &#8220;design difficulties&#8221; is also quite broad as it could cover anything from the aesthetics to the technical design.</p>

<p>While there appear to be delays in the AR devices from Apple, the company is still determined and has made <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ar">Augmented Reality</a> its top priority as its CEO <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tim-cook">Tim Cook</a> believes that the technology is the next big thing. The company already has AR elements on the iPhone, it will be interesting to see what the company brings to the table after its devices get launched in the market.</p>
