<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> has been working on its next-generation Apple Silicon chips, and the company has now reportedly started testing the new Apple M3 series chips for its upcoming devices.</p>

<p>As per the latest report from <em>Bloomberg</em>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/chipset">new chips</a> are expected to arrive as soon as October this year, i.e., in a couple of months. It also adds that the company is testing multiple variants of the chip.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="594" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-1024x594.webp?x44794" alt="Apple Logo" class="wp-image-555381" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-1024x594.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-300x174.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-768x446.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-696x404.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-1068x620.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336-724x420.webp 724w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Screenshot-2023-08-02-142336.webp 1184w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The report indicates that the high-end chip in the lineup, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m3">Apple M3</a> Max, may have four more high-performance CPU cores and at least two more graphics cores compared to the M2 Max chip, which was made available earlier this year.</p>

<p>Coming to the devices, the Cupertino-based tech giant is testing new iMacs, a 13-inch MacBook Pro, a 13-inch MacBook Air, a 15-inch MacBook Air, and a new Mac Mini. All these devices are running the M3 chip and are expected to go official in the next 12 months. It seems that we may have to wait a bit longer for the updated 14-inch and 16-inch models of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a>.</p>

<p>The refresh cycle for the devices seems to have become a bit aggressive from Apple as the company is trying to move ahead from the struggling sales. The anticipated 15-inch MacBook Air got launched in June this year, but the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/07/27/15-inch-macbook-air-low-demand-production-cut/">sales numbers are not matching</a> the company&#8217;s expectations.</p>

<p>As for the launch of the new chip and Mac devices, the company is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/07/17/apple-m3-mac-launch-october-rumors/">expected to announce</a> them in the month of October but an exact launch date is yet to be revealed.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> has been working on its next-generation Apple Silicon chips, and now it looks like the Cupertino-based tech giant is all set to release devices powered by the new Apple M3 chip in the coming months.</p>

<p>According to the latest report from Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, he says that Apple could launch new Mac devices powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m3">M3 chip</a> in October this year.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="787" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-1024x787.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple MacBook Pro M2" class="wp-image-551602" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-1024x787.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-300x231.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-768x590.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-1536x1180.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-2048x1574.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-696x535.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-1068x821.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-1920x1475.jpeg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-547x420.jpeg 547w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MacBook-Pro-M2-80x60.jpeg 80w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>He adds that Apple could launch the new iMac and 13-inch MacBook Air, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a>, all powered by the M3 processor. It may seem that M3-powered devices are coming too soon, especially with M2 Ultra-powered devices getting launched last month. If the speculations are correct, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 lineup</a> of chips got delayed because of supply chain issues.</p>

<p>As for the Apple Silicon M3 processor, the chip is expected to have similar core counts as its predecessor but with enhanced performance and efficiency as the chipset is reportedly being manufactured using the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/3nm">3-nanometer (3nm) fabrication process</a>.</p>

<p>It is not yet confirmed if the company plans to hold a launch event for the new M3 chip and devices powered by it or if the company will make an announcement thorugh a press release. Whatever the case, we should know about it in the coming weeks.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up for its upcoming flagship smartphones and smartwatch in the month of September. The company will launch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-15">Apple iPhone 15</a> and iPhone 15 Pro lineup along with the Apple Watch Series 9.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s been a couple of years since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> started upgrading the iMac lineup with Apple Silicon chips, but the company has managed to only update the 24-inch models.</p>

<p>Now, the Cupertino-based technology giant is coming up with a new model of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-imac">Apple iMa</a>c, powered by the all-new Apple M3 chipset, which is yet to be launched by the company.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="836" height="456" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg?x44794" alt="The new iMac" class="wp-image-385392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg 836w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-300x164.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-768x419.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-696x380.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-770x420.jpg 770w" sizes="(max-width: 836px) 100vw, 836px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to the report from Mark Gurman in the Power On newsletter, the next-generation Apple iMacs, carrying codenames J433 and J434, are in the advanced stage of engineering validation testing (EVT), and the company is currently running <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/production">production</a> tests.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, it appears that the technology giant is only working on the 24-inch model of the iMac and that&#8217;s the only version that will be made official in the coming months.</p>

<p>The report adds that the upcoming iMac is being tested for the same set of colors as the previously launched M1 iMac, which includes Silver, Blue, Pink, and Orange. There&#8217;s a possibility that the company could also add Yellow, Green, and Purple color options.</p>

<p>The product is expected to enter mass production after three months, which means that the device could be officially launched in the second half of this year. We also expect to learn more about the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m3">M3 chipset</a> at the WWDC later this year.</p>

<p>Apple started the process of transitioning its devices from Intel processors to its own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon chips</a> and while iMac started the move in 2021 with the M1-powered 24-inch iMac, the company is yet to upgrade the 27-inch iMac with the M-series chips.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> recently announced a couple of new devices powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, and now the Cupertino-based technology giant is working on launching devices powered by the third-generation Apple Silicon chips.</p>

<p>According to the report from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple is working on new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-air">MacBook Air</a> and iMac, which will come powered by the yet unannounced Apple M3 chipset.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1024x538.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple MacBook Air 2022" class="wp-image-510561" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1024x538.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-300x158.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-768x403.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-696x365.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1068x561.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-800x420.jpeg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022.jpeg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The report also goes on to add that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m3">M3 chipset</a> from Apple will be manufactured using the 3nm process and is expected to be announced later this year or early next year. The same timeline also applies to the launch of these two devices &#8212; Apple MacBook Air and Apple iMac.</p>

<p>A few months ago, it was reported that the Apple M3-powered MacBook Air in 13-inch and 15-inch models, as well as a new iMac, could get launched early this year. But going by the developments, it appears that we aren&#8217;t going to see the launch of this new chipset and devices anytime soon, not at least for a few months.</p>

<p>Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tsmc">TSMC</a>), which manufactures chips for Apple, has reportedly improved the 3nm processor&#8217;s speed by 15 percent and reduced power consumption by 30 percent compared to the 5nm chips. The company has already started mass-producing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/3nm">3nm chips</a> and could start manufacturing them in the United States in 2026.</p>

<p>Apart from MacBook Air and iMac powered by M3 chips, reports indicate that the company is also expected to launch MacBook Pro models powered by the M3 Pro and M3 Max processors in the first half of 2024.</p>

<p>Now, ahead of the launch of the new iPad models, a <a href="https://link.mail.bloombergbusiness.com/click/29164934.5933/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYmxvb21iZXJnLmNvbS9hY2NvdW50L25ld3NsZXR0ZXJzL3Bvd2VyLW9uP3NvdXJjZT1wYWlkTkxzaGFyZQ/612e5c5e0bd0ff7d7d6dfa9bCccf56ed8">new report</a> from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in the Power On newsletter has revealed information about the Mac devices that are expected to get launched next year, i.e., in 2023.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-423110 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="5819" height="3879" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash.jpg 5819w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 5819px) 100vw, 5819px" /></p>
<p>As per the report, Apple is expected to launch a new 15-inch MacBook Air along with the new M3 chips that will power the iMac. The company has also lined up Mac Pro, HomePod, Reality Pro, and a larger iPad to go official sometime next year. There is also a possibility that the company will launch a combined product of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-tv">Apple TV</a>, HomePod, and Facetime cameras towards the end of 2023.</p>
<p>The reports about a new 15-inch MacBook Air have been making rounds for some time now, and the Cupertino-based giant is also expected to increase the size of the 13.3-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-air">MacBook Air</a>, but it will remain under 14-inch.</p>
<p>If this latest report is to be believed, then Apple will be skipping the M2-powered iMac and will directly launch new iMac devices next year, which will come powered by the yet unannounced Apple Silicon&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m3">M3 chipset</a>.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s also a possibility of a larger iPad Pro making its debut in the year 2023, which will likely have a 14.1-inch display. The new HomePod is expected to come powered by the S8 processor, which also powers the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch-series-8">Apple Watch Series 8</a>.</p>
<p>The highly-anticipated and long-rumored Apple Glasses are set to be released next year, and the Mixed Reality Headset is believed to feature a three-display configuration, featuring two Micro <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED</a> 4K displays and another <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amoled">AMOLED panel</a> for low-resolution peripheral vision.</p>

This is in line with his previous reports where he indicated a new product launch sometime in summer this year.</p>
<p>One of the Mac devices launching during WWDC is expected to be the much-talked-about Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-air">MacBook Air</a> which will come with an updated design and powerful specifications. It is likely to be powered by the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 processor</a> as the company has confirmed during the M1 Ultra launch that the M1 family is now complete.</p>
<p>The other device that the company is planning to introduce in June this year could be a redesigned iMac. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-imac">27-inch iMac</a> is expected to come with a design similar to the M1-powered 24-inch iMac, with white bezels and multiple color options to choose from.</p>
<p>Apart from these two products, the company is also expected to launch some more products towards the end of the year, including the new Mac Mini and a new MacBook Pro that will replace the current 13-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a>.</p>

<p>The Macs expected to get launched later this year include the 13-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a>, a 24-inch iMac, and a redesigned MacBook Air. As noted all these devices will be updated to the M2 chipset as all of them are already powered by the M1 processor.</p>
<p>Currently there&#8217;s not much known about the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 chipset</a> and nothing has been revealed by Apple but the report indicates that the M2 will be slightly faster than the M2 chipset and will have the same eight-core architecture but the graphics cores may get increased from seven or either to nine or 10.</p>
<p>It is also said that the Cupertino-based tech giant may launch the Pro and Max version of the M2 chip next year, similar to what the company did with the M1 chipset. Also, it is also expected to launch the M3 chip next year.</p>
<p>Apple is moving away from Intel-powered Mac devices to its own Apple Silicon and to complete the process, the company is expected to launch a new 27-inch iMac Pro which will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/18/apple-announces-m1-pro-and-m1-max-chips-and-new-macbook-pro-with-notches/">M1 Pro or M1 Max</a> processor. There are also reports about the M1-powered Mac Mini to get a Pro model powered by M1 Pro or M1 Max, in addition to a new model powered by the M2 chipset.</p>

However, it came missing the much-rumored Face ID featured. Now, the latest <em>Power On </em>newsletter from Bloomberg&#8217;s <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/authors/AS7Hj1mBMGM/mark-gurman" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mark Gurman</a> has revealed that Apple was actually planning to integrate the feature on the M1 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/imac/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iMac</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-385392" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg?x44794" alt="The new iMac" width="836" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg 836w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-300x164.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-768x419.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-696x380.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-770x420.jpg 770w" sizes="(max-width: 836px) 100vw, 836px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The M1 iMac was rumored to come with Face ID due to a 2020 report that found a new extension with codes intended to support “PearlCamera” in the macOS Big Sur Beta 3. Pearl camera is the initial codename used by Apple for TrueDepth camera and Face ID. Codes such as &#8220;FaceDetect&#8221; and &#8220;BioCapture&#8221; were found in this extension which is similar to the codes used in iOS for Face ID.</p>
<p>In the latest <em>Power On </em>newsletter, Mark Gurman writes “Face ID was in the cards for the original M1 iMac. Naturally, the iMac is the thickest Mac with a built-in display since Apple’s laptops have fairly thin screens.”</p>
<p>The reporter did not provide any reason due to which Apple held back on providing the feature, however, he states that if Apple decides on releasing it, the feature will likely debut in iMac or an external monitor first.</p>
<p>He states “At this point, the technology to embed Face ID into the thin MacBook displays doesn’t exist. So if Face ID comes to the Mac, I think it will be on an iMac or external monitor first. Apple has definitely been working on this, but time will tell if they launch it.”</p>
<p>So it appears like MacBooks won&#8217;t be getting Face ID anytime soon due to technical limitations in shrinking down the Face ID hardware to fit in the thin display panels of the MacBook.</p>

<p>When <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> had announced its move of transitioning to Apple Silicon, it had talked about completing the process within two years. In line with that, Mark Gurman of <em>Bloomberg</em> expects that the company could complete the process by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wwdc">WWDC</a> 2022 in June.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-423110 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="5819" height="3879" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash.jpg 5819w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/laurenz-heymann-wAygsCk20h8-unsplash-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 5819px) 100vw, 5819px" /></p>
<p>This was reported in the latest edition of the <em>Power On</em> newsletter in which Mark Gurman further adds that the new Mac Pro, a powerful Mac Mini, and a large-screened iMac Pro will come powered by the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon</a> chips.</p>
<p>If this turns out to be true, then it means that there could be multiple Apple Mac devices getting launched in the first half of this year.</p>
<p>After launching MacBook Air and Pro models as well as Mac Mini and iMac powered by the M1 chipset, the company <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/18/apple-announces-m1-pro-and-m1-max-chips-and-new-macbook-pro-with-notches/">recently launched the MacBook Pro</a> in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, both of which are powered by the new Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.</p>
<p>The company is expected to launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 chipset</a> as the direct successor of the M1 chip but if the reports are to be believed, then there won&#8217;t be any drastic improvement in terms of performance for the new SoC.</p>
<p>The report further adds that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-air">MacBook Air</a> lineup as well as the entry-level MacBook Pro, which were the first devices to get M1 chipset, will be updated this year. The MacBook Air is claimed to come with the biggest redesign in the product&#8217;s history.</p>

So far, the company has launched three chips for Mac which are based on the ARM architecture.</p>
<p>Now, a <a href="https://ctee.com.tw/news/tech/567784.html">new report</a> claims that the Cupertino-based technology giant is working on a successor of all the existing three chips which will be named Apple M2, M2 Pro, and the M2 Max, and has also shared some key details.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-301818 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple Logo" width="1300" height="648" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo.jpg 1300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo-768x383.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo-1024x510.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo-696x347.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo-1068x532.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Apple-logo-843x420.jpg 843w" sizes="(max-width: 1300px) 100vw, 1300px" /></p>
<p>Further, citing information from the supply chain industry sources, the report adds that the company will be updating the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon</a> lineup every 18 months in the future.</p>
<p>It is claimed that Apple will be launching the first M2 processor codenamed Staten in the second half of 2022 and in the first half of 2023, there will be a new M2X processor with the codename Rhodes. There will be M2 Pro and M2 Max chips with different graphic cores.</p>
<p>All the chips in Apple Silicon&#8217;s M2 lineup will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tsmc">TSMC</a>) using the 4nm process. It is also speculated that the successor of the M2 series, which is likely to be the M3 lineup, will be manufactured using TSMC&#8217;s 3nm process.</p>
<p>The upcoming M2 series chips from the tech giant Apple will be used across six products from the brand. It is said that the MacBook will be equipped with an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 processor</a> while the MacBook Pro lineup will have M2 Pro and M2 Max options.</p>
<p>Similarly, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/imac">iMac</a> will be powered by the M2 chipset while the iMac Pro will come packed with the M2 Pro and M2 Max. There will also be Mac Mini with an M2 processor and a Mac Pro equipped with the M2 Pro and M2 Max.</p>

Now, the company is expected to update the iMac Pro model sometime next year.</p>
<p>Recently, it was reported that the upcoming iMac Pro will feature a Mini-LED display along with an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon</a> processor. Now, a new report coming from <em>DigiTimes</em> (<a href="https://9to5mac.com/2021/12/21/digitimes-backs-up-new-27-inch-imac-pro-with-miniled-display/">via <em>9to5Mac</em></a>) also claims that the new iMac coming next year will feature a Mini-LED screen.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-385392 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg?x44794" alt="The new iMac" width="836" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg 836w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-300x164.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-768x419.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-696x380.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-770x420.jpg 770w" sizes="(max-width: 836px) 100vw, 836px" /></p>
<p>The report also claims that Apple&#8217;s suppliers have already started shipping <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/components">components</a> in small volumes for the new 27-inch iMac series models. While the launch date is not yet confirmed, it is said to go official sometime in Spring.</p>
<p>Last week, it was revealed that the device will feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/miniled">MiniLED screen</a> and have support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120hz">120Hz variable refresh rate</a> and Oxide backplanes. This will also mark the introduction of Pro Motion display technology to the iMac lineup.</p>
<p>Further, the device is expected to have a starting configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, just like the recently launched MacBook Pro lineup. Further, users will likely get an option to choose between <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/18/apple-announces-m1-pro-and-m1-max-chips-and-new-macbook-pro-with-notches/">M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets</a>.</p>
<p>Apple has a few other devices lined up with a Mini-LED display, including new iPad models but if the recent reports are to be believed, then the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-ipad">iPad</a> with Mini-LED screen is expected to go official in a couple of years and not anytime soon.</p>

Since then, the company is expected to launch an updated iMac Pro in the market.</p>
<p>There have been several rumors hinting at the launch of a 27-inch iMac Pro sometime next year and now the latest report <a href="https://www.displaysupplychain.com/blog/what-will-the-big-display-stories-be-in-2022">coming from <em>Display Supply Chain</em></a> reveals that the device is expected to launch in Spring.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_385392" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-385392" style="width: 836px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-385392 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg?x44794" alt="The new iMac" width="836" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac.jpg 836w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-300x164.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-768x419.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-696x380.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/The-new-iMac-770x420.jpg 770w" sizes="(max-width: 836px) 100vw, 836px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-385392" class="wp-caption-text">24-inch Apple iMac</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>The report reveals that the 27-inch iMac Pro from Apple will feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/miniled">MiniLED screen</a> and have support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120hz">120Hz variable refresh rate</a> and Oxide backplanes. It will also mark the introduction of Pro Motion display technology to the iMac lineup.</p>
<p>While earlier reports have also talked about the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-imac-pro">iMac Pro model</a> getting launched around the same time, DSCC pretty much confirms it as its analysts usually get information from the screen manufacturers with a pretty accurate timeline.</p>
<p>It is expected that the device could have a starting configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, just like the recently launched MacBook Pro lineup. Further, users will likely get an option to choose between <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/18/apple-announces-m1-pro-and-m1-max-chips-and-new-macbook-pro-with-notches/">M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets</a>.</p>
<p>Earlier, Bloomberg&#8217;s Mark Gurman had also hinted about the revamped high-end iMac with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon</a> launching in 2022 but then reported that the Cupertino-based tech giant may have postponed it to focus on the 24-inch M1-powered iMac.</p>
<p>The new report also hints about the launch timeline for some other rumored Apple products. It adds that the iPad and MacBook models featuring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED panels</a> are not expected to launch until 2023 but are likely to be announced in 2024.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s noteworthy that the stock for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/refurbished">refurbished models</a> varies based on what people have sent in for repair or replacement. Those who are looking to purchase a refurbished version of a particular model need to keep a close eye on the store for its availability.</p>
<p>As the name itself indicates, the new 24-inch iMac features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina Display that comes with support for 1 billion colors. It has True Tone technology which is used to automatically adjust the color temperature based on the environment.</p>
<p>Underneath, the device is powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon</a>‘s M1 chipset and comes in two versions — one with an 8-core CPU and a 7-core GPU and another with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. The base model packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage which can be expanded up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1">Apple M1</a> chipset is the first from the technology giant for its Mac devices under Apple Silicon. The company is now working on an upgraded chipset, which is likely to be called M1X and there are already reports about Mac devices powered by the same.</p>
<p>The upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro models</a> are expected to come powered by the yet unannounced Apple M1X chipset, and so is the new Mac Mini. We expect the launch of newer Mac devices to take place by the end of this year.</p>

<p>Currently, it seems that there&#8217;s only one model available for purchase that too in Pink color option. The device packs an 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, and 256GB SSD and is priced at £1,059. This represents a saving of £190.00 over the standard price of £1,249.</p>

This is a clear indication that the iMac Pro was not able to pull the punches required of it and has not had any significant upgrades since its debut, which obviously had affected its overall performance rating.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-335581" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020.jpeg?x44794" alt="New Apple 27-inch iMac" width="960" height="640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020.jpeg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Apple-iMac-27inch-2020-630x420.jpeg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a></p>
<p>In addition, Apple had released the iMac in August 2020, which clearly satisfied the projected audience of the iMac Pro, and comes with greater power and speed. In a report monitored on business and tech news platform Bloomberg in January 2021, Apple was said to be at an advanced stage of retooling its lineup of desktop computers which were underpinned by the iMacs. The ongoing restructuring of the lineup may have thus taken the iMac Pro as the first casualty.</p>
<p>The iMac Pro costs about $5,000 for the base model can still be gotten across the various sales options available for Apple users, of course only while the present stock remains. Apple did not provide information on how long it will take before the stock of iMac Pros are exhausted across all its channels.</p>
<p>Apple also said on Saturday that Apple users who are interested in scaling their expectations and desire expandability and greater power for their desktop computers could opt for its present flagship product in the PC segment – the Apple Mac Pro. The Mac Pro comes packed with greater functionality and power, enabling it to eclipse both the iMac Pro and iMac in performance.</p>

<p>In the latest development, a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xofljau9xk">report from Jon Prosser claims</a> that the upcoming 2021 iMac models will be offered in five color options &#8212; Silver, Space Gray, Green, Sky Blue, and Rose Gold. These are the same colors that Apple offers for the fourth-generation iPad Air.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-373171 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple iMac 2021 Color Options Leak" width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-iMac-2021-Colors-Leak-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>Not just that, he has also shared a render of the new color options, showcasing how the redesigned <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-imac">iMac</a> may look like from the back. It must be noted that the renders are purely speculative to showcase the color options as the new design has not yet leaked.</p>
<p>Jon Prosser believes that with multiple color options for the upcoming iMac, Apple is planning to capitalize on nostalgia for the original ‌iMac‌, which came in a selection of iconic colors such as Lime, Strawberry, Blueberry, Grape, and Tangerine.</p>
<p>The redesigned iMacs are expected to have slimmer bezels and will be powered by the latest Apple Silicon chips, possibly an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/17/apple-m1x-chipset-specs-leak/">upgraded M1 chipset</a> or a completely new one. While the device should go official this year, an exact timeline for the same is not yet known.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-373172 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak.jpg?x44794" alt="New Apple Mac Pro Leak" width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Apple-Mac-Pro-Mini-Leak-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>There is also new information coming for the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-mac-pro">Mac Pro</a> device. Jon Prosser, describing the design of the device, says that it looks like &#8220;three to four Mac Minis stacked on top of each other.&#8221; He has also provided a render of the new look.</p>
<p>The device is expected to come with a compute unit at the bottom and a big heat sink on the top. It was initially expected to launch by the end of 2022 but could get launched soon, probably later this year.</p>

<p>The patent was filed in May last year and showcased how a device similar to the iMac has the &#8220;input area&#8221; as well as &#8220;display area&#8221; built into a single surface. It seems like there is a support structure at the back of the display, which should contain CPU.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-302547 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-2.png?x44794" alt="Apple iMac Curved Glass Patent" width="857" height="571" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-2.png 857w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-2-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-2-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-2-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-2-630x420.png 630w" sizes="(max-width: 857px) 100vw, 857px" /></p>
<p>Apple has clarified that the glass housing could be made with materials that are transparent, coated, painted, or otherwise treated to produce a non-transparent component. Translucent components may be formed by producing a textured or frosted surface on an otherwise transparent material.</p>
<p id="vUVxzU">This is quite interesting, first of all from the design point-of-view that Apple is trying to implement the whole hardware on a curved sheet of glass, which the company has not done so far with any of its products.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/28/huawei-p40-pro-premium-concept-video-showcases-its-curved-screen-penta-camera-lens/">Huawei P40 Pro ‘Premium’ concept video showcases its curved screen &amp; penta camera lens</a></strong></h6>
<p>Another interesting take on this is that the company is taking the all-in-one computer design to another level with the integration of computer, display, keyboard, as well as touchpad. However, it seems that the keyboard can be detached so that it can be used as per the users&#8217; need.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-302546 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-1.png?x44794" alt="Apple iMac Curved Glass Patent" width="851" height="567" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-1.png 851w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-1-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-1-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-1-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/imac-curved-glass-patent-1-630x420.png 630w" sizes="(max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px" /></p>
<p>While Apple has filed a patent for this new device, we don&#8217;t see the company planning to launch such as device in the market anytime soon and certainly not with this radical design, which the company is calling &#8220;Electronic Device with Glass Housing Member&#8221;.</p>
<p>However, we do expect the company to make some changes in the design of the iMac given that it has largely remained unchanged over the past decade. This hints that the designers at Apple are looking for ways to shake-up the design of the iMac.</p>
