<p>There have been multiple reports about the price increase for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14">iPhone 14 lineup</a>, but now a new report has surfaced online which indicates that the price increase will be lower than previously expected.</p>

<p>Earlier reports have claimed that the Apple iPhone 14 will cost $799 while the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14-max">iPhone 14 Max</a> will be priced at $899. The Pro models are getting a $100 hike as the iPhone 14 Pro will cost $1,099 while the Pro Max model will be priced at $1,199.</p>
<p>The new report from TrenForce (via <em><a href="https://9to5mac.com/2022/08/31/iphone-14-price/">9to5Mac</a></em>) indicates that the iPhone 14 will continue to have a $749 starting price, with the iPhone 14 Max costing $849. The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are expected to be priced at $1,049 and $1,149, respectively.</p>
<p>The report adds that Apple might want to play safe and expects a smaller price increase given the current market conditions as the smartphone market is on a decline and the economy is tough.</p>
<p>Apple iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models will have significantly different internals, based on the reports. It is claimed that the non-Pro models will continue to be powered by the last year&#8217;s chipset while the Pro models will pack the new Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-a16">A16 Bionic processor</a>.</p>
<p>Recently, it was claimed that all the models of the iPhone 14 series would come packed with 6GB of RAM. There&#8217;s also a possibility that the company will ditch the 128GB storage model, and the starting point will be 256GB.</p>
<p>The Apple iPhone 14 Pro will be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/08/26/apple-iphone-14-pro-color-options-leak/">offered in five color options</a>, including the standard Gold, Graphite, and Silver colors, and two new colors — Blue and Purple.</p>

<p>The event will obviously center around the iPhone 14 series, which will consist of four models. These are the vanilla <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14 Max</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14 Pro</a>, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14 Pro Max</a>. The Max model will replace the iPhone mini from the lineup and will essentially be similar to the vanilla iPhone 14, but with a large 6.7-inch display.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-456346 size-full td-animation-stack-type0-2" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iPhone-13-Pro-colors.png?x44794" alt="" width="799" height="448" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iPhone-13-Pro-colors.png 799w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iPhone-13-Pro-colors-300x168.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iPhone-13-Pro-colors-768x431.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iPhone-13-Pro-colors-696x390.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iPhone-13-Pro-colors-749x420.png 749w" sizes="(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px" /></p>
<p>The Pro models will get an update to the camera notch, which will now feature a punch hole and a pill-shaped cutout instead of the large notch currently featured in the iPhone 13 models. The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models are also expected to come with an always-on display feature, new A16 Bionic chipsets, and a 48-megapixel primary camera. The vanilla and Max models on the other hand are expected to retain the A14 Bionic chipsets. All models will get a new autofocus front camera.</p>
<p>Other than the smartphones, Apple is also expected to debut new smartwatches on September 7. So far, rumors suggest that three new Apple Watch models are in development: the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Apple-Watch-series-8/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Series 8</a> model, the upgraded SE model, and the all-new Pro model, which is anticipated to have a larger body, an updated look, and a more robust design.</p>
<p>There are also rumors the upgraded iPad Pro model is in the works, but this device will likely be launched in October alongside the new Macs.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-08-17/apple-targets-sept-7-for-iphone-14-launch-in-flurry-of-devices" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gurman</a>, the information comes from &#8220;people with knowledge of the matter.&#8221; The company will be launching a bunch of new products at this launch event including its highly anticipated iPhone 14 lineup and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Apple-Watch-series-8/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Apple Watch Series 8</a>. There are apparently plans for a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/08/16/apple-ipad-launch-event-october-rumors/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">low-cost iPad</a>, upgraded iPad Pro versions, a Mac Pro with Apple silicon processors, and other gadgets, though these may be reserved for a second October event.</p>
<p>Coming back to the star of the show, Apple plans to release a total of four ‌iPhone 14‌ models, including a 6.1-inch ‌<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14‌</a>, a 6.7-inch ‌<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14‌ Max</a>, a 6.1-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">‌iPhone 14 Pro‌</a>, and a 6.7-inch ‌<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-14-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max</a>. The Cupertino giant will skip on the mini model for the iPhone 14 as these small models have not sold well in the past.</p>

<p>The iPhone 14 Pro models will have new camera technology with upgraded sensors, the removal of the notch in favor of a pill-shaped and hole-punched cutout, an A16 chip, and more. The vanilla iPhone 14 model is expected to receive minor modifications. It would also be interesting to see how the customers will receive the new iPhone 14 Max model as it will essentially be similar to the vanilla iPhone 14, but it will feature a 6.7-inch display instead of a 6. inch display.</p>
<p>Three new Apple Watch models are in development: the Series 8 model, the upgraded SE model, and the all-new Pro model, which is anticipated to have a larger body, an updated look, and a more robust design.</p>

<p>A <a href="https://twitter.com/ihacktu/status/1539580693151350785">new report</a> from tipster iHacktu ileaks claims that the Apple iPhone 14 series smartphones will be officially announced on 13th September. The pre-orders for the devices getting announced are expected to start from 16th September and the shipments could begin on 23rd September. The dates haven&#8217;t been officially confirmed by the company so we advise you to take this with a pinch of salt.</p>
<p>Based on the reports so far, Apple is expected to launch four smartphones &#8212; iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-14-pro/">iPhone 14 Pro</a>, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. While the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro will have a 6.1-inch display, the 14 Max and 14 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch display.</p>
<p>This time, the Cupertino-based technology giant is expected to launch the iPhone 14 series smartphones with significant differences between the Pro and non-Pro models. For instance, the Pro models will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/13/apple-iphone-14-pro-dual-hole-cutout-display/">ditch the notch</a> in favor of a punch-hole cutout and will come powered by the latest A16 Bionic chipset.</p>
<p>We expect the company to officially announce the launch event for the iPhone 14 series and the Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch-series-8">Watch Series 8</a> in a few weeks.</p>

<p>Now, in the latest development, some information about the battery capacity of the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14">iPhone 14 series</a> has been leaked online.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-462573 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-scaled.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone 14 Pro" width="2560" height="1582" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-300x185.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-1024x633.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-768x474.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-1536x949.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-2048x1265.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-696x430.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-1068x660.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-1920x1186.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-680x420.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/iPhone-14-Pro-Silver-Vertical-356x220.jpg 356w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>According to <a href="https://twitter.com/VNchocoTaco/status/1539613994784550915">tipster <em>ShrimpApplePro</em></a>, three out of the four iPhone 14 models will come with a larger capacity battery compared to their predecessor while one model will have a slightly low-capacity battery.</p>
<p>The report claims that the Apple iPhone with a 6.1-inch display will be powered by a 3,279mAh <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery">battery</a> which is bigger than the 3,240mAh battery in iPhone 13. The Pro model will be powered by a 3,200mAh battery which is an upgrade compared to a 3,095mAh battery found on the iPhone 13 Pro.</p>
<p>The top-end model on the lineup &#8212; Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-14-pro-max/">iPhone 14 Pro Max</a> is expected to be powered by a 4,323mAh battery which is a slightly low-capacity battery than the 4,352mAh battery found in the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Interestingly, there are reports which claim that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have an additional battery life of 2 hours and 10 minutes compared to its predecessor, even though it has a slightly low-capacity battery.</p>
<p>The Apple iPhone 14 Max, which is set to replace the Mini model, will be powered by a 4,325mAh battery. If this leak is to be believed, then the iPhone 14 Max will have the highest capacity battery among all four models.</p>
<p>This time, the Cupertino-based technology giant is expected to launch the iPhone 14 series with significant differences between the Pro and non-Pro models.

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-455487 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1600" height="1200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds.jpeg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-768x576.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-265x198.jpeg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-696x522.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-1068x801.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/iphone-14-molds-560x420.jpeg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>According to tipster <a href="https://twitter.com/Shadow_Leak/status/1522194953983737857" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>@shadow_leak</em></a> on Twitter, the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s iPhone 14 Max will sport a 6.68 inch flexible OLED panels that has a resolution of 2,248×1,284 pixels. Furthermore, this screen will have a 458ppi pixel density and a 90Hz refresh rate. For those unaware, the Max model is reportedly the new entry that sits between the base and Pro variant and features a display similar to the Pro Max variant. It also replaces the Mini model, which was unpopular in the smartphone market.</p>
<p>The tipster added that the iPhone 14 Max will feature the A15 Bionic chipset and will be paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Only the higher end iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/03/21/apple-iphone-14-a15-processor-rumors/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">rumored to feature the A16 Bionic chipset</a>. On the rear, the iPhone 14 Max will house a dual camera setup, which consists of two 12 megapixels sensors. Notably, previous reports have hinted at improvements in the front facing camera and the inclusion of satellite connectivity.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-456155 size-full aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Render-Front.png?x44794" alt="Apple" width="839" height="541" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Render-Front.png 839w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Render-Front-300x193.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Render-Front-768x495.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Render-Front-696x449.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-Render-Front-651x420.png 651w" sizes="(max-width: 839px) 100vw, 839px" /></p>
<p>While the smartphone is still months away from launch, the tipster also shared the pricing of the iPhone 14 Max. Apparently, the 6GB + 128GB model will be priced at 899 US Dollars. Going by Apple&#8217;s usual pricing strategy, we can expect the higher end model to easily cross the 1,000 US Dollar mark as well. Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt and stick around for more updates.</p>

<p>In the latest development, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo <a href="https://twitter.com/mingchikuo/status/1508106065451581450">has revealed</a> that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models will have a bigger 48-megapixel camera sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-449945 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 14 Pro" width="1024" height="922" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-300x270.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-768x692.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-696x627.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-466x420.jpg 466w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>To house this bigger camera sensor, the camera bump on the devices has also become a bit thicker, as revealed in the previously leaked schematics for the design of the iPhone 14 Pro and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14-pro">iPhone 14 Pro</a> Max.</p>
<p>If the reports about the sensor turn out to be true, then it is a significant change given that the Cupertino-based technology giant will shift from a 12-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera">camera sensor</a> to a 48-megapixel primary sensor.</p>
<p>It is being claimed that the diagonal length of the high-resolution image sensor will be bigger than the 12-megapixel version by between 25 percent and 35 percent. Along with the diagonal width change, the 7-piece (7P) lens for the sensor will also grow by between 5 percent and 10 percent.</p>
<p>This time, Apple is expected to make the non-Pro and Pro models of the iPhone 14 series significantly different from the devices, ranging from design to internal specifications. It is also said that the iPhone 14 and 14 Max to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-a16">Apple A16 SoC</a> while the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be powered by the A16 Pro processor.</p>

<p>Recently, there were reports about the non-Pro iPhone 14 models and the iPhone 14 Pro models to have a significantly different design as well as specifications. Now, another report has surfaced online that is in line with the previous reports.</p>
<figure id="attachment_449945" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-449945" style="width: 1024px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-449945 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 14 Pro" width="1024" height="922" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-300x270.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-768x692.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-696x627.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Apple-iPhone-14-Pro-3-466x420.jpg 466w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-449945" class="wp-caption-text">Apple iPhone 14 Pro Render</figcaption></figure>
<p>Last week, it was reported that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/03/14/apple-iphone-14-pro-specs-difference-rumors/">continue to be powered by the Apple A15 Bionic processor</a> while the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models will pack the yet unannounced Apple A16 Bionic SoC.</p>
<p>Now, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo <a href="https://twitter.com/mingchikuo/status/1505215565308350479">has revealed more details</a> regarding the usage of different chips. He says that the difference of chips between non-Pro and Pro models of the iPhone is likely a marketing or a finance-based decision.</p>
<p>The supply of chips from TSMC isn&#8217;t an issue, claims <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ming-chi-kuo">Ming-Chi Kuo</a>. This leads to the speculation that the Cupertino-based technology giant is trying to create more differentiation between the non-Pro and Pro models of the iPhone or that it is trying to keep the cost low by using older generation chips in the non-Pro models.</p>
<p>It has also been reported that while all the models of the iPhone 14 series will pack 6GB of RAM, the non-Pro models will have LPDDR4X RAM. On the other hand, the Pro models will have LPDDR5 RAM, creating a technical difference and impacting the operational speed.</p>
<p>For those who are unaware, Apple is expected to launch four iPhone models this year, which includes Apple iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max. While the 14 and 14 Pro will feature a 6.1-inch display, the 14 Max and 14 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch screen.</p>

Although the device launch is many months away, new details keep surfacing online.</p>
<p>While the iPhone 14 Pro models are said to come with an LTPO display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a new report claims that the regular iPhone 14, as well as the iPhone 14 Max, may not feature an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ltpo">LTPO screen</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-411203 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone 14" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>A <a href="https://twitter.com/DSCCRoss/status/1482445349017067524?s=20">report coming from <em>Ross Young</em></a> claims that the non-Pro models in the iPhone 14 series will get display panels from the China-based BOE and adds that currently the company isn&#8217;t capable of supplying <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED panels</a> with a dynamic refresh rate.</p>
<p>Recently, some reports indicated that all the models in the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup could come with a 120Hz display but it turns out that Apple is not in a hurry to upgrade the display panel for all the models, at least not this year.</p>
<p>It is an interesting choice from Apple given that many <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> smartphones, even in the mid-range segment, now come with a 90Hz or 120Hz display. However, it seems that Apple will be offering its ProMotion display only for the Pro models.</p>
<p>The Apple iPhone 14 and 14 Max are likely to come with low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ltps">LTPS</a>) panel. On the other hand, the Pro models will probably get the low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) tech that allows a display to adjust the refresh rate based on the content being displayed on the screen.</p>

The Cupertino-based giant will be launching the upcoming iPhone 14 series models later this year.</p>
<p>Ahead of the new iPhones going official, several details about the upcoming phone have surfaced online in the form of rumors and leaks, giving us a hint about what to expect. Now, details about the <a href="https://twitter.com/LeaksApplePro/status/1480106529034575872">phone&#8217;s pricing have leaked</a> online.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-415887 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max Display" width="1600" height="947" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display.jpeg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-300x178.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-768x455.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-1024x606.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-696x412.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-1068x632.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Apple-iPhone-13-Pro-Max-Display-710x420.jpeg 710w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>As per the latest report coming from <em>LeaksApplePro</em>, the company is expected to debut the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models with higher pricing compared to what Apple usually charges for these models.</p>
<p>It is claimed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14-pro">iPhone 14 Pro</a> will start at $1,099 while the Pro Max will have a starting price of $1,199. However, the standard iPhone 14 model is expected to have the same starting price of $799, similar to its predecessor.</p>
<p>The reasoning behind the increasing pricing for the iPhone Pro models launching this year is said to be the new design and upgrades that the company will be offering for this new lineup of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartphone">smartphones</a> this year. Do note that the source claims that the price rise is still under consideration, so things could change later.</p>
<p>This year, Apple is expected to launch four models in the lineup, including <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-14">iPhone 14</a> with a 6.1-inch screen, iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display, iPhone 14 Pro with a 6.1-inch display, and iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch screen.</p>
<p>If the reports are to be believed, then the iPhone 14 Pro models will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/03/apple-iphone-14-ditch-notch-for-pill-shaped-cutout/">come with a punch-hole cutout</a> for housing the front-facing camera instead of the notch on top of the screen. Apart from that, the devices are expected to come with upgraded camera configuration as well as display features and processing.</p>

The news comes days after LG succeeded in producing 120Hz LTPO display panels and securing a sizable order from Apple for the same. Apple, in the past, has had to source their 120Hz displays exclusively from Samsung, giving the Korean tech giant a monopoly on the matter.</span></p>
<p>With <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/23/apple-to-rely-on-samsung-lg-for-iphone-14-pro-pro-max-punch-hole-displays/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LG&#8217;s entrance</a> into the Apple iPhone display supply chain, Samsung&#8217;s monopoly is effectively broken, giving the Cupertino-based company some wiggle room for negotiations.</p>
<p>So what can we expect from the iPhone 14 Max?</p>
<p>According to previous reports, the iPhone 14 Max (not to be confused with iPhone 14 Pro Max) will replace the iPhone 14 Mini and come equipped with a big 6.7-inch 120Hz LTPO display. The display will be the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, the 14 Max will be a cheaper alternative and, therefore, will miss many bells and whistles offered in the more premium variants.</p>

<p>Now, a <a href="http://www.thelec.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=15363">new report</a> coming from The Elec, which is citing sources in the display supply chain, Apple has not yet decided the type of display that it wants to offer on the iPhone 14 Max smartphone. The confusion is reportedly between the 60Hz LTPS display and the 120Hz LTPO panel.</p>
<p>If the company goes for the 120Hz LTPO display, then it will have to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/07/samsung-apple-exclusive-supplier-oled-next-iphone/">procure panels from Samsung</a> which has a near-monopoly on the OLED LTPO technology. The South Korean giant is also supplying panels for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max models.</p>
<p>However, Apple is looking to diversify its supply chain and reduce its dependency on Samsung which is why the company is increasing the share of panels from manufacturers like LG and BOE. In that case, the iPhone 14 Max could end up with a 60Hz LTPS panel.</p>
<p>This is because LG hasn&#8217;t been able to produce <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED displays</a> with LTPO technology and is expected to have something to offer next year. On the other hand, similar technology from the China-based BOE is not expected to be available until 2023.</p>
<p>Samsung will still be the largest supplier of display panels to Apple for iPhones and could account for around 130 million units next year. However, LG and BOE are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/14/boe-oled-shipments-to-apple-2021/">expected to increase their supply</a> to 60 million units and 45 million units, respectively.</p>
<p>Coming back to the iPhone 14 lineup, the standard iPhone 14 is expected to have a 6.1-inch notched screen with a 60Hz refresh rate while the Max model will have a 6.7-inch notched screen. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are said to have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens respectively, with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120hz">120Hz refresh rate</a> punch-hole cutout.</p>

Followed by this news, there was a piece of information that revealed that last year&#8217;s iPhone 12 mini didn&#8217;t have great sales in comparison to the iPhone 12 Pro Max model. It purported tipsters to suggest that Apple may ditch the mini in favour of a large-sized model. Well, now, the notorious Apple leaker Jon Prosser reveals the same information in addition to some other specs of the iPhone 14 series.</p>
<p>According to Prosser, next year, the iPhone 14 series will have four different models and all of them will have a redesign. Prosser had already shared creative renders of the redesigned 14 series ahead of<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-13"> iPhone 13 launch</a>. The leaker is now back to suggest that it is indeed happening and the Mini is getting away.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-411203 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone 14" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/iPhone-14-render-featured-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Apple is touted to bring the iPhone 14 Max model with a large 6.7-inch display. For starters, it will be the same screen size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max model. The other two phones in the middle would be the base model iPhone 14 with a 6.1-inch screen and a Pro model with again the same screen size. Hence, there won&#8217;t be any Mini model.</p>
<p>The major reason for killing the Mini would be the inferior sales of the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-12-mini"> iPhone 12 Mini</a>. In fact, a report revealed that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-12-pro">iPhone 12 Pro Max</a> outsold the other models, thanks to the larger screen size. That said, Apple may take the reports into consideration and offer a large-sized iPhone in the non-Pro series.</p>
