We all worry about dropping our smartphones, which is why put up various kinds of covers and other forms of protection on the display. While a regular drop from the pocket or the accidental slip of the hand could cause some damage, a fall from a plane should be a death sentence for a handset. However, this one Apple iPhone 6s went through such an ordeal and lived to tell the tale.

According to a 9To5Mac report, Galiotto was flying over a beach located in Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, for one of his projects. But while he was holding his iPhone 6s to capture the images and videos from the window of a small plane, the wind tore it away from his hand and sent his phone tumbling down. The filmmaker had already assumed the worst and expected to his iPhone to be gone for good.

Although, through some bizarre turn of events and a lot of luck, the device survived. Once on the ground, Galiotto decided to check the Apple Find My app, and was surprised to find that his iPhone 6s was alive and still functioning. Pinpointing the location he set off to find the handset in the middle of the beach. When he reached the spot he was in for even more of a surprise as the device was still intact and had almost no intense damage on its chasis.

While it did have a few minor scratches, it was mostly unaffected and was only covered with a regular screen protector and a regular silicon case. Interestingly, the iPhone was recording a video when it fell, so it even captured the entire turbulent ordeal after being accidentally dropped. But there are lots of folks out there that prefer walking into a physical store and purchasing what they want.

Phone manufacturers know there’s a lot of money to be made via that way of shopping that’s why they still setup brick and mortar shops to cater for that category of people.

Two companies hitting it big in offline sales in China right now are OPPO and Apple. According to  recent sales stats from Sino-MR, an independent market research firm, the OPPO R9 (known as the OPPO F1 Plus outside China) and the iPhone 6s are the best selling phones offline.

According to OPPO, they have sold over 7 million R9 units as at mid-June. The iPhone 6s is also doing incredibly well. Other phones selling well offline include the Vivo X7, the Huawei P9 and the Huawei Mate 8.

Other companies like Xiaomi who didn’t take offline sales seriously are now doing so. In a recent statement Xiaomi’s CEO said there are plans to increase the number of stores across China from 25 to 1000 by the year 2020.

LeTV CEO has been revealing a lot about the upcoming LeTV 2 flagship smartphone that is scheduled to debut at the company’s October 27 event. The first teaser of the event revealed that the company was directly competing with the Apple’s iPhone series. Now a series of new teasers have revealed more details about the upcoming device, most of which takes a dig at Apple’s iPhone series.

The first teaser boasts of the new fingerprint sensor on the LeTV 2 model. The image says that the LeTV 2’s fingerprint sensor will be better than Apple’s Touch ID. You can check out the teaser from down below.

Even in the camera department, the new LeTV model is supposedly better than the iPhone series, specifically the iPhone 6S. The teaser says that the upcoming LeTV phone will feature superior camera for faster shooting and better low light pictures as compared to the iPhone 6S.

Finally, the third teaser compares the Retina display on the iPhones to the better display on the LeTV 2. The teaser states that 1080p display has become standard on flagships, with Apple’s Retina display still considered as one of the best. But LeTV will take things to a better level with its display which we are expecting to be 2K. Remember the giant LeTV Max with 2K display and sapphire glass? Well, this new model could take some specs from the Max model.

As the CEO is counting down the day until the launch event with new features revealed everyday, we can expect something about its processor in the next one week. Rumors have said that the phone will feature the new Snapdragon 820 chipset, but we still need confirmation from the company. So, we better wait for more such teasers in the coming days.
