The Cupertino based giant secures every minute details on its iPhones as well, be it the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ios/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iOS</a> software, lightning port or processors. But now, a group of dedicated individuals has broken through Apple&#8217;s confining walls to bring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Android</a> OS to an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-7/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 7</a>.</p>
<p>Project Sandcastle is under which this great endeavor was carried out by a team called Corellium. The team is known for their previous work which involved bringing Android OS on the original iPhone. So, a recurring philosophy can be observed here, but now <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-10/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Android 10</a> is available on Apple&#8217;s iPhone 7, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-7-plus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 7 Plus</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/7th-generation-ipod-touch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPod Touch</a>.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Here is an iPhone 7 booting Android ! <a href="https://t.co/cfCdSEzTbo">pic.twitter.com/cfCdSEzTbo</a></p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>The project used the checkra1n software intensively to jailbreak the iPhone 7 series to run the Android OS. It doesn&#8217;t just stop here as the group of developers are working on including additional iPhone models as well in the list. But for now, only these three devices will be available for Android since these Apple handsets are a couple of years too late to receive an update to fix the vulnerabilities Corellium exploited.</p>
<figure id="attachment_308700" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-308700" style="width: 1079px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-308700 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple" width="1079" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059.jpg 1079w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059-300x285.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059-768x729.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059-1024x972.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059-696x661.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059-1068x1014.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Image-059-443x420.jpg 443w" sizes="(max-width: 1079px) 100vw, 1079px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-308700" class="wp-caption-text">List of features that run on iPhones and iPods (However, support is currently limited to iPhone 7)</figcaption></figure>
<p>Thus, it leads to the point that technically most recent iPhone models can be hacked, but there is no point in it since &#8220;Apple will fix it with an update.&#8221; Unfortunately, installing Android on your iPhone 7 series will result in certain major features to not work correctly. These include essential functions like Bluetooth, audio, mobile data networking, and camera.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/05/realme-6-6-pro-with-90hz-display-snapdragon-720g-and-30w-fast-charging/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Realme 6, 6 Pro with 90Hz display, Snapdragon 720G and 30W fast charging launched with Rs. 12,999 (~$175) starting price</a></strong></h6>
<p>Furthermore, the GMS (Google Mobile Services) is also unsupported on the iPhone 7 series. Meaning, there is no custom recovery to flash it in the smartphone either. In a list of demerits, it seems that the update isn&#8217;t stable either since you will lose all data and the Android OS itself when rebooting the device, bringing you back to iOS which lacks the storage taken up by the Android installation.</p>
<figure id="attachment_116871" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-116871" style="width: 1024px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-116871 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/apple-iphone-7-01.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple iPhone 7 Plus" width="1024" height="576" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-116871" class="wp-caption-text">Apple iPhone 7 Plus</figcaption></figure>
<p>Unfortunately, the process is still in beta and it is advised not to be used on hardware that one is currently using. So it is recommended to steer clear and wait for a proper workaround for the issues, if any, in the near future. To download and install the Android build on the iPhone 7, Click <a href="https://projectsandcastle.org/status" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Here</a>.<br />
<strong>Note</strong>: One will require checkra1n installed on your iPhone alongside a Mac or Linux PC for further installation.</p>

<p>The base model of the iPhone 7 which used to be sold for ₹60,000 (∼$928) is now ₹56,200 (∼$869). The 128GB version has seen a price cut too and now sells for ₹65,200 (∼$1009) and the 256GB version is priced at ₹74,400 (∼$1150).</p>
<p>The iPhone 7 Plus on the other hand was reduced from ₹72,000 (∼$1114) to ₹67,300. The 128GB model is priced at ₹72,000 (∼$1114) and the 256GB model is ₹85,400 (∼$1321). The older iPhone 6s Plus also got a price cut to ₹56,100 (∼$868) while the iPhone SE dropped to ₹26,000 (∼$402).</p>

<p>Other Apple products such as MacBooks, iPads and the Apple Watch have also seen reduction in their respective prices.</p>
<p>Apple is focused on establishing a strong foothold in the Asian country and this will come as good news to its fans. The American company already has an assembly plant in India and the first batch is already on sale.</p>
<p>We expect other manufacturers to replicate Apple&#8217;s move as soon as possible.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">An individual who goes by the name &#8221;@Mr Powerful&#8221; who owns the iPhone 7 Plus and the Huawei P9 decided to pit both cameras against each other to see how they fair when it comes to taking pictures. Apple is pushing out a new feature called Portrait Mode (which is is similar to Bokeh effect) to iOS 10.1 developer version and will be available later this week in public beta. It appears this person already has that update.</p>

Qualcomm has unveiled it latest dual camera system which they called Clear Sight. The dual camera technology was developed mainly to promote the upgraded photo quality photo on offer, working with its own set of systems. The Clear Sight technology is touted to simulate human vision, thus giving users amazing picture quality.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/qualcomm-snapdragon-clearsight.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-97734" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/qualcomm-snapdragon-clearsight.jpg?x10805" alt="qualcomm-snapdragon-clearsight" width="800" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/qualcomm-snapdragon-clearsight.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/qualcomm-snapdragon-clearsight-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/qualcomm-snapdragon-clearsight-768x403.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>The Qualcomm Clear Sight dual cameras are similar in dynamics to <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/06/huawei-p9-officially-announced-with-12mp-dual-cameras-from-leica/">Huawei P9&#8217;s Leica dual cameras</a></span> in the kind of sensors they use. The both use one camera sensor, while the other is a black and white sensor as well as packing powerful optimization software. The dual camera lenses can thus simultaneously capture two different images and stitch them in real time. The advantage of this process is that the black and white filters behind the lens can accommodate more light, resulting in sharper picture output, with reduced image noise and increase focusing speed. Images captured with this system produces a special bokeh effect where the background images are blurred, with the main target clearly captured.</p>
<p>This technology is different from that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/07/apple-iphone-7-iphone-7-plus/"><span style="color: #3366ff;">Apple infused into the iPhone 7 Plus,</span></a> in that the dual cameras on the 7 Plus cannot work at the same time because one of the lenses is to produce wide angle view of up to 140 degrees, and the second lens is to zoom in.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Related: </span><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/31/huawei-p9-launch-invitations-reveal-dual-cameras-breakthrough-technology/">Huawei P9 Launch Invitations Reveal Dual Cameras With Breakthrough Technology</a></strong></p>
<p>The Clear Sight dual camera system can work well powered by <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/11/snapdragon-821-official-comes-10-improvement-sd820/">Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 820 and 821 processors.</a></span> Before now, we had gotten wind of an impending flagship phone launch by Xiaomi, equipped with Snapdragon 821 processor, and  dual cameras. It is possible that the expected Xiaomi phone may adopt this technology or something similar.</p>

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus debuts with a wide range of new features and upgraded specs from the iPhone 6s. One very spectacular feature missing on the new generation iPhones is the 3.5mm audio jack which had long been captured in rumors to be leaving the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. You don&#8217;t have to worry, though, because Apple will include an adapter to enable you still use the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97154 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-3.jpg?x10805" alt="iphone 7" width="768" height="657" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-3.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-3-300x257.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-3-95x80.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p>Apple has given the iPhone 7 a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with 3D touch. There is also a new processor in town, a quad-core Apple A10 Fusion chipset which comes along with 3.3 billion transistors making it 40% faster than the previous A9 chips. The A10 processor also comes along with a hexa-core GPU. There is a new 12MP iSight camera with 6-element lens, f/1.8 aperture, High-speed Sensor (60% faster, 30% efficient), support for 4K video recording and quad LED dual-tone flash. It also has a new 7MP Facetime camera. The iPhone 7 comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB, 128GB and 256GB built-in storage options.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97155 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-1.jpg?x10805" alt="iPhone 7 " width="400" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-1.jpg 400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphone-7-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p>On the software, the iPhone 7 runs on the latest iOS 10. In addition, the phone comes with an IP67 rating meaning it is water and dust resistant. The iPhone 7 also has a new home button and this houses the fingerprint sensor. The home button is pressure sensitive with Taptic Engine, so instead of having the feel you pressed the button because it clicked, it will vibrate.</p>
<p>Not only that, the iPhone 7, for the first time, comes with stereo speakers with volume output touted to be twice the volume of the iPhone 6s speakers. There is also some improvement in the battery life of the non-removable battery on the iPhone 7.</p>
<p><strong>iPhone 7 Plus</strong></p>
<p>The iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch Retina HD display with 3D touch  and powered by a new quad-core A10 Fusion chipset as well. The processor is accompanied by a 3GB RAM and there are three storage versions available, 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97162 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple-iphone7-jetblk-airpod.jpg?x10805" alt="iPhone 7 Plus" width="1142" height="1400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple-iphone7-jetblk-airpod.jpg 1142w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple-iphone7-jetblk-airpod-245x300.jpg 245w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple-iphone7-jetblk-airpod-768x942.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple-iphone7-jetblk-airpod-835x1024.jpg 835w" sizes="(max-width: 1142px) 100vw, 1142px" /></p>
<p>The iPhone 7 Plus comes with dual 12MP rear cameras  with one having a wide-angle with f/1.8 aperture and the other lens, a telephoto lens with f/2.8 aperture for new depth-of-field. The camera also has OIS along with Quad-LED True Tone flash. On the selfie shooter, there is a new 7MP Facetime camera.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97161 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple_iphone7-plus.jpeg?x10805" alt="iPhone 7 Plus camera" width="800" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple_iphone7-plus.jpeg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple_iphone7-plus-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/apple_iphone7-plus-768x432.jpeg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>Just like the iPhone 7, the 7 Plus also comes with IP67 water and dust resistance rating. The home button is also pressure sensitive, with Taptic Engine and the fingerprint sensor is embedded on it.</p>
<p>Now coming to the prices, the iPhone 7 starts at $650 ( about 4,334 Yuan), same as the iPhone 6s while the higher-end iPhone 7 Plus will retail at $770 (5,134 Yuan). They come in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, Black and the new Jet Black finish.</p>

Sporting a 5.7&#8221; 2K Super AMOLED screen with dual curved edges, 4GB RAM, 64GB  ROM,  12MP f/1.7 rear  camera, 5MP front camera, a 4096 pressure sensitive S-Pen, iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and an IP68 certification; the Note 7 does has a lot to offer. But at a price. A price of 6000 Yuan ($900)!!!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Another phone which will probably be having such a high price tag is Apple&#8217;s new phone, the iPhone 7. Although it has not been released yet, we already have a fair knowledge of what to expects following months of leaks.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The iPhone 7 (Plus) is said to come with a 5.5&#8221; 3D-touch screen, dual 12 MP cameras on the back, a 5MP front facing camera, a fingerprint scanner, and doesn&#8217;t come with a 3.5mm jack. It will also be ditching the 16GB storage option.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">While the Note 7 does have several interesting features, Apple&#8217;s iOS operating system is a force to be reckoned with.</p>

The video comes in Ultra HD 4k resolution and clearly shows the details of the phones in high definition. Both the front and back views of the two flagships Apple is expected to officially unveil in September are featured on the video.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-94083 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iphone-7-7-plus.png?x10805" alt="iPhone 7, 7 Plus" width="602" height="330" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iphone-7-7-plus.png 602w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iphone-7-7-plus-300x164.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px" /></p>
<p>One prominent feature noted on the back views are the protruded cameras on both the iPhone 7 and 7Plus. The dual cameras on the iPhone 7 Plus are also very visible as is the antenna lines on the top edges of both phones which are coated in white color. In traditional iPhone design, there are physical Home buttons on both iPhones models and true to rumors, there are no 3.5mm headphone jacks on both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-94082 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iphone-7-7-plus-2.png?x10805" alt="iPhone 7, 7 Plus" width="601" height="340" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iphone-7-7-plus-2.png 601w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iphone-7-7-plus-2-300x170.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px" /></p>
<p>The video displays the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in all elegance and we hope to see more, perhaps a working iPhone 7 or 7 Plus in the coming weeks before the launch. You can grab a peek of the two devices down below.</p>
