However, someone has managed to get their hands on one to run the Geekbench test on it.</p>
<p>So without further delay, here are the results of the latest iPhone SE&#8217;s <a href="https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/13368425" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Geekbench test</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-448355 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-Geekbench.png?x44794" alt="iPhone SE 2022 Geekbench" width="678" height="831" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-Geekbench.png 678w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-Geekbench-245x300.png 245w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-Geekbench-343x420.png 343w" sizes="(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px" /></p>
<p>The A15 Bionic powered iPhone SE manages to score a mind-blowing 1695 points on the single-core test and 4021 points on the multicore test. It is worth noting that these scores are considerably higher than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-se-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone SE (2020)</a> model which scores around 1300 in single-core and 3300 in multi-core tests on a good day.</p>
<p>Compared to the iPhone 13, the device trails only a bit in the single-core department but is left behind by around 700 points in multi-core tests. This is to be expected as the iPhone SE (2022) is a small form factor device, Apple has probably put some artificial limits on the device to counter thermal and battery brain issues.</p>
<p>The benchmarks are also obviously higher than anything Android has to offer. For single-core, the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 holds the highest score in the Android camp with 1057 points and for multi-core, the Huawei Mate 40 has the highest score of 2249 points.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-447995 td-animation-stack-type0-2" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone SE (2022)" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>As for its spec sheet, the new iPhone SE 2022 comes with the same design, and 4.7-inch screen as its predecessor and also features the Touch ID button. However, the device is now powered by the 5G enabled A15 Bionic chip coupled with 4GB of RAM. The back of the device gains protection from a Ceramic Shield and is now certified with IP67 water and dust resistance.</p>
<p>The new iPhone SE (2022) is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. In terms of colors, the phone will be available in midnight, starlight, and PRODUCT Red colorway. Pricing starts at $429 for the 64GB version and the device is expected to go on sale from March 18 in 30 countries including the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The iPhone SE 3 will be available to pre-order from March 11.</p>

According to the latest reports, suppliers like Wistron, Pegatron, and Foxconn have reportedly planned to invest close to $900 million in the country.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-116028" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/apple-iphone.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="950" height="534" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/apple-iphone.jpg 950w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/apple-iphone-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/apple-iphone-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px" /></p>
<p>A report from Reuters says that the suppliers plan to gain benefits from the Production Linked Incentive Scheme(PLI) of India. Previously, the Ministry of Electronics, Govt of India, had introduced incentives like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/04/india-announces-incentives-worth-%E2%82%B9-50000-crore-to-boost-local-smartphone-production/">PLI, SPECS, and EMC 2.0</a> worth $6.6 billion. Out of them, PLI requires companies to produce smartphones locally for the next five years. Accordingly, it helps companies get incentives while transforming India into an export hub.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/26/momax-airbox-is-a-multi-device-wireless-charging-power-bank-for-apple-devices/">MOMAX Airbox is a multi-device Wireless Charging Power Bank for Apple devices</a></strong></p>
<p>Coming back, the three suppliers of Apple are Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron. As per the <a href="https://in.reuters.com/article/india-smartphone-manufacturing/three-top-apple-suppliers-to-commit-900-mln-to-india-smartphone-incentive-plan-sources-idINL4N2GP0WM">report</a>, Foxconn has applied for investing 40 billion INR($542 million), while Wistron and Pegatron have plans for 13 and 12 billion INR under the PLI scheme. While the range of devices that would be focussed on is unclear, insiders say that iPhones will be the cynosure.</p>
<p>Further, Wistron is looking to expand <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-se-2020/">iPhone SE 2020</a> production to 400,000 per month by the end of 2020. This will likely create 10,000 jobs. Also, Foxconn which already <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/24/apple-iphone-11-manufacturing-india/">assembles iPhone 11</a> is looking to widen the scale. Lastly, Pegatron, which is a new entrant, is already in talks with Govt of Tamil Nadu for setting up a plant as per the report.</p>
<p>However, this is not the first time for Apple. After the US ban, Apple started to divert itself and shit production outside of China with Pegatron moving to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/05/24/apple-supplier-pegatron-shifting-production-to-indonesia/">Indonesia</a> last year. But in the case of India, Apple began assembly of the original iPhone SE through Wistron way back in 2017. It then expanded operations with the help of Wistron and Foxconn started making older flagships like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/iphone-7/">iPhone 7</a>.</p>
<p>That said, its newer devices are still slapped with import duties and in a bid to change that, it has been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/03/apple-vendor-iphone-production-india/">restrategizing</a> its plan in India. Some of the latest changes include its own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/18/apple-to-open-its-online-store-in-india-on-september-23/">online store</a>, an Exclusive retail-store under-construction in Mumbai.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Up Next: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/25/apple-iphone-12-mini-could-be-the-name-of-the-5-4-inch-model/">Apple iPhone 12 Mini could be the name of the 5.4-inch model</a></strong></p>

It comes with flagship-grade internals but a design similar to the Apple iPhone 8 and is targeted towards first-time iPhone buyers.</p>
<p>Now, a report from China&#8217;s Taiwan Economic Daily reported that the iPhone SE 2020 has shipped around 12 million to 14 million in the second quarter of this year. This is quite an impressive number, given that the phone was launched during the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/covid-19">COVID-19</a> pandemic.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-317250 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhoe SE 2020" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone_SE-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone">iPhone</a> SE 2020 is the lowest priced smartphone from Apple so far and it seems that the company will continue making lower-priced iPhones. As per the report, the company is now planning another affordable iPhone model, priced under $300. That smartphone is said to get launched next year.</p>
<p>The report claims that Apple is working on an affordable smartphone priced between $200-300 but it&#8217;s not yet confirmed if it will be a part of the iPhone SE series. But, the report says that the phone will still be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> A13 chipset.</p>

<p>The current-generation iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and supports <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dolby">Dolby</a> Vision and HDR10 playback. There&#8217;s also Haptic Touch for Quick Actions. Under the hood, it is powered by the Apple A13 chipset and comes in 64/128/256 GB storage options.</p>
<p>In the camera department, there&#8217;s a 12MP f/1.8 camera which Apple says is the best single-camera system ever in an iPhone. It can also take portrait photos with the 7MP selfie camera and the phone can also record 4K videos at 60fps.</p>
<p>Apple has not officially revealed the battery capacity of the smartphone but has confirmed that the iPhone SE 2020 comes with support for 18W fast charging technology as well as wireless charging support.</p>

But to price the device so cheap, the Cupertino-based tech giant used the same chassis and components of iPhone 8 from 2017. A teardown video on YouTube confirms it and the person even manages to boot the new device with the motherboard of the older model.</span></p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xBNdm0XBIfA?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Apple is known for many things but not for cheap affordable products. But that has begun to change with the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-ipad-10-2/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPad 7th generation</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and the aggressively priced </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> from last year. Now, the company even undercut Android OEMs by launching the $399 iPhone SE 2020 featuring its flagship A13 Bionic chipset.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The American tech company is successful in doing this because only the chip, rear camera, and battery connector are different. Whereas, the other components are identical to the ones used in the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/iphone-8/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 8</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. The teardown video embedded above proves it by swapping the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-se-2020/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone SE 2020</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> motherboard with the one of iPhone 8.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">By doing so, the handset boots up normally and almost everything works including display, speaker, haptic engine, and front camera. Only the main back camera does not work as it could be a different module than the one used in iPhone 8, probably from </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-xr/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone XR</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">That said, not every company can pull a stunt like </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/apple"><span style="font-weight: 400">Apple</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. But if they do, then it can surely help a lot of people and even the company itself during these hard times.</span></p>

It features a design of iPhone 8 but has the powerful A13 Bionic chipset that is powering the iPhone 11 series devices.</p>
<p>The new Apple iPhone SE that will be sold in China has one major difference compared to the variant available in the United States or even Hong Kong. The difference is the lack of eSIM support in the Chinese version.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-317103 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone-SE-2020.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone SE 2020" width="576" height="659" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone-SE-2020.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone-SE-2020-262x300.jpg 262w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/iPhone-SE-2020-367x420.jpg 367w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></p>
<p>While the new iPhone SE comes with support for two SIMs nano SIM + eSIM, the Chinese version lists only nano SIM support on the company&#8217;s official website.</p>
<p>The Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-se-2">iPhone SE 2020</a> features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and comes with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 playback and also has Haptic Touch for Quick Actions that previews messages, rearranging apps, and more.</p>

<p>However, the highlight of the device is the same Apple A13 Bionic powering the phone, which is also inside the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11/">iPhone 11</a> series, and is touted to be the fastest mobile processor in the world. The phone comes in three models based on the storage capacity &#8212; 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.</p>
<p>As for the camera department, the rear camera is a 12MP f/1.8 camera sensor which Apple says is the best single-camera system ever in an iPhone. With A13’s ISP and Neural Engine, the new iPhone SE can take portrait mode images with six different portrait lighting effects. The phone can also record <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/4k">4K</a> videos at 60fps.</p>
<p>On the front side, the device comes equipped with a 7MP snapper. While the company has not revealed the battery capacity, it has said that the phone comes with support for 18W fast charing as well as wireless charging. It adds that the 18W charger can charge the smartphone from empty to 50 percent in about half an hour.</p>
