Apple M2 Ultra Geekbench score

The Apple M2 Ultra scored 1,956 and 27,945 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core test results. This particular version of M2 Ultra spotted on Geekbench 5 reveals 192GB RAM on the device and that it runs on the beta version of the macOS 14 Sonoma. It’s worth noting that the scores for the same processor are different on Geekbench 5 and 6 versions. On Geekbench 6, the chipset scores 2,837 and 21,730 points for the single-core and multi-core test results.

As per Apple, the M2 Ultra processor offers up to 20 percent faster CPU performance compared to its predecessor. This means that it is the fastest-ever chipset from the Cupertino-based tech giant. The benchmark performance indicates that the SoC is 10 percent faster than its predecessor in single-core as well as multi-core test results.

The Apple M2 Ultra packs 24-core CPU and 76-core GPU that are claimed to offer 20 and 30 percent improvements respectively. It also has a 32-core Neural Engine that is set to be 40 percent faster. At the WWDC keynote, Apple announced the new Mac Pro is up to 3× faster than the Intel-based model, but that only applies to select “real-world pro workflows like video transcoding and 3D simulation.”

Apple Mac Pro (2023) specs:

The new Mac Pro boasts an impressive 24-core CPU, an optional 76-core GPU, and a substantial boost in memory and SSD storage capacity. Notably, users can configure the Mac Pro with an astonishing 192GB of memory, accompanied by a lightning-fast unified memory bandwidth of 800GB/s.

One of the standout features of the Mac Pro is its remarkable video processing capabilities. With the power of seven built-in Afterburner cards, this machine can handle an unprecedented 22 streams of 8K ProRes video playback. It also supports the simultaneous processing of up to 24 4K camera feeds, enabling real-time encoding to ProRes using six video I/O cards—a significant advancement for professionals working with high-resolution content.

This expansion capability allows users to customize their Mac Pro by adding essential cards to meet their specific requirements.

Connectivity has received a boost as well, with the new Mac Pro equipped with eight Thunderbolt 4 ports—double the previous generation. Furthermore, it supports up to six Pro Display XDRs, while also offering Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless wireless connectivity.

In terms of other physical ports, the Mac Pro includes three USB-A ports, two high-bandwidth HDMI ports supporting up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates, two 10Gb Ethernet ports for fast networking, and a headphone jack, which is particularly useful for those using high-impedance headphones.
