Xiaomi‘ ecological chain enterprise Lumi United Technology has launched the Aqara Smart Curtain Motor A1 and it is now available on Jingdong (JD.com). The product comes with a 399 yuan (~$56) price tag.

The Aqara Smart Curtain Motor A1 is a Wi-Fi-enabled device which can realize many functions such as timer switch, voice control, and remote control directly from the Aqara Home app without the need to connect with a smart home gateway device. The app equally allows homeowners to customise the opening and closing degrees from the smartphone.

Further, the smart curtain motor can be connected to the Xiaomi AI speaker, making it possible to perform tasks such as control the opening and closing of the curtains and adjust the opening and closing ratio simply by giving instructions to XiaoAI voice assistant. However, if you want to link it with other IoT gadgets like the smart door and window sensor, wireless switch and MIJIA smart door lock, you need to connect it to the gateway device.

In terms of the hardware features, the Aqara Smart Curtain Motor A1 features a customized soundproof and noise reduction mute rail. The rail runs smoothly and quietly during operation with an operating sound lower than 35 decibels. It also comes with a Bluetooth remote control which can also be used to control the opening, closing and stopping of the curtain when there is no internet connection.
