Audio-Technica has just unveiled its ATH-SQ1TW2NC truly wireless earbuds, which are a pair of ultra-compact buds with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). This is a suite of handy listening features and a range of bright color options that stand out in a crowd. So here are all the details.

Audio-Technica ATH-SQ1TW2NC Specifications

The ATH-SQ1TW2NC earbuds use a square-style compact body that’s light enough for extended wear without fatigue. Each earbud measures just 4 grams, and the hearables are available in six fun color options, including black, café latte, forest green, gray, pink, and white camel. Audio-Technica’s latest TWS support Bluetooth 5.2 and features 5.8mm dynamic drivers that support 20Hz to 20kHz audio range.

Despite their tiny form factor, the ATH-SQ1TW2NC offer ANC support along with up to 6 hours of audio playback on a single full charge. The charging case offers an additional 18 hours of battery life, with a full charge taking around 2.5 hours. Other notable features include touch sensitive controls, an IPX5 rating for water and dust resistance, a partner app that brings soothing nature sounds, and a 64 step volume adjustment.

There is also support for pass-through and talk-through modes that lets users stay aware of their surroundings. Audio-Technica has introduced the ATH-WP900SE, a limited-edition over-ear headphone designed to accurately reproduce the sound of string instruments, with a clear emphasis on guitars.

The ATH-WP900SE features solid ash wood earcups, a material widely used in electric guitars and basses. Each unit is finished in a three-tone sunburst lacquer inspired by classic guitar designs. The lacquer work is carried out individually by Japanese guitar manufacturer Fujigen, resulting in visible wood grain and a deep gloss similar to that found on musical instruments. This is the first time Audio-Technica has applied a guitar-style lacquer finish to its headphones.

At the core of the headphones are newly developed 53 mm dynamic drivers created exclusively for this limited edition. The acoustic structure has been tuned specifically for string instruments. A redesigned voice coil improves linear motion and control, while uniform airflow behind the driver helps reduce unwanted resonance and uneven vibration. Audio-Technica has also optimized the acoustic port shape to deliver tighter bass. The company says this setup allows clear reproduction of guitar contours, strong low frequencies, and natural sustain.

The ATH-WP900SE offers a frequency response range of 5 Hz to 50 kHz, a sensitivity rating of 98 dB/mW, 37 ohms of impedance, and a maximum power input of 1,000 mW. Despite the large driver size, the headphones weigh around 235 grams without the cable.

Comfort features include low-resilience memory foam used in both the headband and ear pads, wrapped in artificial leather to support long listening sessions. The earcups swivel flat, making the headphones easier to store in the included pouch.

Audio-Technica uses its A2DC detachable connector system for stable signal transmission. The box includes two 1.2 m cables: a 3.5 mm unbalanced cable and a 4.4 mm balanced cable for use with compatible headphone amplifiers and high-resolution audio players. Additional accessories include a Fujigen cleaning cloth for the lacquered wood housing and a handwritten serial number card.

Audio-Technica will launch a special edition headphone, the ATH-AWSW DV, at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 from April 18 to 20. Only 10 units will be made, and they’ll be available at the Audio-Technica booth (No. 28–32) at Makuhari Messe.

This is a wooden headphone featuring traditional Echizen lacquer and maki-e artwork showing Darth Vader. Each side of the headphone has a different design, created using official Lucasfilm assets made specifically for this product. The artwork was done by Japanese craftsmen using brush techniques, making each unit slightly unique.

The headphone has been tuned to bring out the depth in Star Wars music. Audio-Technica, known for over 20 years of wood headphone design, handled all production in Japan—from part sourcing to final assembly in their Tokyo factory. Each unit has a serial number.

These headphones weigh 415 grams and are equipped with large 53 mm drivers. They support Hi-Res Audio and offer a wide frequency range from 5 Hz to 45,000 Hz. With a sensitivity of 102 dB/mW and an impedance of 48 ohms, they can handle up to 2,000 mW of input power, making them suitable for high-performance audio setups.

All accessories match the Star Wars theme. The headphone stand is also made for display use. Sales will end once all 10 units are sold. If any remain after the event, there may be a second sale later. As for pricing, the headphones will cost 990,000 yen (~$6,700).

Audio-Technica has launched a new pair of True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds in the Chinese market, the ATH-TWX7, featuring hybrid digital active noise cancellation, 5.8mm drivers, and a price tag starting at 1249 Yuan (around $176) on JD.com. The earbuds were first introduced at CES this year.

Audio-Technica ATH-TWX7 Specifications:

The ATH-TWX7 features a compact and ergonomic design that ensures a natural fit and prevents them from falling out of your ears. The earphones also come with mixed hardness hybrid structure ear tips for increased comfort during extended wear. The left and right earbuds weigh approximately 4.7g each, while the charging case weighs about 47.5g.

The earbuds boast “Hybrid Digital Noise Cancellation Technology” that utilizes dual MEMS microphones on each earbud to capture ambient noise and transmit it to a high-precision noise-canceling processor for effective noise reduction. The earbuds offer a noise cancellation capability of 38dB.

For situations where some ambient sound is necessary, the earphones also offer a clear ambient sound mode. This mode uses microphones to pick up surrounding sounds, making it useful for staying aware of your surroundings during walks, workouts, or commutes.

The TWS earbuds are equipped with 5.8mm high-fidelity drivers and support Bluetooth 5.1 technology. It offers a low latency mode for seamless audio transmission, ideal for watching videos or gaming without worrying about audio delay. It supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs.

In terms of battery life, the earphones can deliver up to 6.5 hours of continuous playback with noise cancellation enabled, and a total of 20 hours when combined with the charging case. Additionally, the earphones support fast charging, providing approximately 60 minutes of playback time with just a 15-minute charge.

The ATH-TWX7 also boasts some interesting features like multi-device connection, allowing you to connect to two devices simultaneously, and an app for personalization. Through the dedicated “Connect” app, users can customize various settings according to their preferences, including audio style presets, equalizer adjustments, and even a personal timer function. The earphones are also IPX4 water resistant, making them suitable for workouts or light rain.

Audio accessories brand Audio-Technica has released the ATH-AWKG black persimmon wood-limited headphones in China. The new pair of headphones are made from the traditional Japanese wood called black persimmon. The release of the new model marks the first time Audio-Technica will be using black persimmon material as an independent audio tuning element. The product, though, resembles the model the company launched in 2022 to mark its 60th anniversary.

The choice of black persimmon in the design of the ATH-AWKG headset has resulted in the exclusion of the traditional all-cavity LOGO painting. Rather, the model adopted the same Muji design that was used in the Narukami series. The Audio-Technica ATH-AWKG comes with a 53mm moving coil unit and uses a 6N-OFC (99.99%) oxygen-free copper coil. The driving part uses Permendur Iron-cobalt alloy units while titanium alloy flange rings are used in the inside of the earphones. The headphones also feature Audio-Technica’s Dual Air Damping System (DADS) in the cavity.

The ATH-AWKG headset is equipped with headphone pads made of lambskin, while the cables use the A2DC pluggable interface by Audio-Technica. The package also includes two 3.0m detachable braided shielded wires which correspond to 6.3mm single-ended and XLR (4-pin) balanced dual output specifications. The model reflects some of the functionality of the KG-NARU headsets. There are suggestions in some quarters that the natural sounding effects of black persimmon wood yield a more pleasant sound output to the ears.

The Audio-Technica ATH-AWKG black persimmon wood-limited headphones are available in China at a retail price of 32,800 yuan ($4,582). It is understood that this limited-edition model is the Chinese version of the Audio-Technica ATH-AWKG black persimmon headsets. The pricing of the model clearly indicates the premium nature of the gadget and it could well be a collector’s item. There are no indications at this time how many units of the Audio-Technica ATH-AWKG black persimmon wood-limited headphones were produced.

The Audio Technica ATH-TWX7 supports Sony’s LDAC codec. They feature Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity for pairing two devices simultaneously. The earbuds are claimed to offer 6.5 hours of usage on a single charge. The battery life extends by 13.5 hours to 20 hours with the charging case. 

The Audio Technica ATH-TWX7 is priced at $199. They are offered in Ash Black, Rich White, and Stone Grey colors. The earbuds are available for purchase from the brand’s website.

Audio-Technica has been a known brand in the audio industry for some time now. However, it only recently began expanding into the truly wireless earbuds category. Now, it has launched a new TWS model with an interesting feature, which is UV lights to help sterilize the earphones.

The new model in question is the Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 TWS. Its unique selling point is undoubtedly its UV sterilization feature, which is made to be anti-bacterial for better hygiene. While this feature is clearly uncommon and quite interesting in terms of practicality, it isn’t exactly ground breaking or innovative. LG already has a TWS earbuds model series that offers this feature, with the Tone Free earbuds offering UV sterilization for sometime now.

Although the LG models also offer UV lights to kill off bacteria, there are still differences in functionality in the new Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 model. The former only focuses sterilization on the speaker grills itself and requires around 10 minutes of charging time. On the other hand, the ATH-TWX9 TWS earbuds increases the steriized area beyond just the speaker grills and even reduces the process to just 70 seconds. Apart from this key feature, the brand is already known for its capable hearable offerings and the new TWS model isn’t any different.

It also comes with a premium look with a stylish finish with minimal bronze trim as well. The earphones features 360 Reality Audio and Snapdragon Sound to help improve the listening experience and the body of the earbuds is also IPX4 protected. A single full charge will have it last around 6 hours, with the charging case enabling a total of 18.5 hours of playback. The new ATH-TWX9 earbuds are currently available for a price tag of 329 US Dollars and is only available in the Japanese Black color option.

Japanese brand Audio-Technica is rolling the drums to mark its 60th birthday. The new ATH-WB2022 cans are the world’s first wooden wireless headphones. The product also comes with another first – a balanced built-in stereo for a wireless device. The new Audio-Technica wooden wireless headphones have several other exciting features too.

Audio-Technica has seen a buildup of activities to mark its 60th birthday with a raft of product releases. The iconic Sound Burger turntable was reincarnated together with a premium set of transparent decks a few days back. The ATH-WB2022 is a limited-edition product and the hi-fi feature means that the cans have a separate signal path for each earcup, thus significantly minimizing interference and preventing crosstalk. The earcups are made from solid flame maple, walnut, and mahogany. They absorb acoustic vibrations and minimize distortion due to their innovative design.

The ATH-WB2022 features an ESS DAC ES9038Q2M digital-to-analog converter on the left and right channels of the headphones. The new wooden wireless headphones support LDAC high-resolution codec from Sony in addition to AAC and SBC. You can connect the headphones to multiple input devices via Bluetooth, thanks to its onboard Multipoint capability.

The Audio-Technica wooden wireless headphones come with a hefty price tag. They are priced at $2,700 and will be launched in 2023. Certainly, the ATH-WB2022 delivers the audio clarity and could spur demand for the product despite its price. It will be an audiophile’s best memorabilia, it seems.

Audio-Technica has launched the ATH-CKS30TW true wireless and lightweight earphones in China. The new TWS earbuds have an exquisite design and are ergonomically structured for comfortable usage. Each earpiece weighs 4.5g and fits snugly to the ears. The ATH-CKS30TW also provides passive noise reduction and clarity during calls, playback, and gaming.

The Audio-Technica lightweight earphones are equipped with a 9mm SOLID BASS-HD TWS high-definition unit that helps to deliver crisp bass. The earphones’ drive unit adopts a real, dynamic coil design. The audio output of the device is balanced and power efficiency is also enabled. The batteries inside the earphones can last for 7.5 hours and up to 20 hours with the case.

The ATH-CKS30TW earbuds have a low-latency game-enhancement mode. This makes it well-suited for gaming applications. The earbuds support multi-port pairing via Bluetooth and can support standby for two Bluetooth inputs simultaneously. The ATH-CKS30TW true wireless earphones is also currently available in Japan (its home country), but it could make their way into the international market subsequently.
