Samsung is typically among the first Android brands to release the latest security patch, and the August 2025 security patch is no exception. It has already started rolling it out to multiple Galaxy devices, and should gradually expand to more Galaxy phones and tablets over the coming days and weeks.

Monthly security patches do not bring new features or UI changes, but they include under-the-hood security upgrades and patches that ensure the Galaxy devices remain unaffected by the latest vulnerabilities found in Android devices. What’s new in Samsung’s August 2025 security patch

The August security patch for Samsung devices includes fixes from both Google and Samsung. This time, Google has fixed one critical security flaw and more than two dozen high-level CVEs (critical vulnerabilities and exposures) that affect Android devices broadly, including Samsung devices. There are no moderate-level CVEs, though.

In addition to that, Samsung has included 18 security fixes that were found in its own software. These include vulnerabilities that could have potentially allowed hackers to gain improper access to your device, access sensitive data, or delete files without permission. Samsung says these vulnerabilities were privately disclosed to the company, meaning there’s a good possibility they weren’t utilized by bad actors to harm Samsung users.
