Aula has released the S98, a versatile mechanical keyboard suitable for both gaming and office use. It is priced at 139 Yuan ($19) and is currently available for pre-order on JD.com. Let’s check out the key specs of this keyboard.

Aula S98 features a compact 98-key layout, providing a space-efficient design while retaining a full numeric keypad. Its structure includes a gasket setup, ensuring a smooth typing experience by reducing the resonance during key presses. This structure is complemented by full-key rollover design and hot-swappable switches, allowing for easy customization and uninterrupted performance.

Aula S98 provides a variety of switch options, including Blue, Black, Brown, and Red switches. It also offers a selection of materials for switches, such as EXPE cotton, sandwich cotton, PE, bottom cotton, and memory foam, including Aula’s Precision Satellite Switches. These options cater to a wide range of user preferences, offering diverse tactile experiences.

The keyboard boasts impressive lighting features, including top lighting and a bottom gradient light strip, offering dynamic lighting effects and serving as visual indicators for battery level and mode settings.

In terms of battery, the keyboard is equipped with a robust 4000mAh rechargeable lithium battery. With the default lighting effects enabled, the keyboard can last approximately 66 hours, and with lighting effects turned off, it extends to about 266 hours or around 12 days.

The S98 keyboard stands out with its triple-mode connectivity, supporting wired (Type-C), 2.4G, and Bluetooth connections. It enables easy switching between up to five devices, making it versatile for different setups. It also features a “Mode Key” for switching between Gaming and Office modes, catering to diverse user needs.

In terms of ergonomics, the keyboard includes a two-stage stand with three-stage height adjustment, ensuring comfort during prolonged use. Its dimensions are 406.6×137.9×45.1mm, and it weighs about 829g without cables or receiver, slightly increasing to 864g with them included.
