ZTE is finally rolling out Android 10 for its flagship smartphone, Axon 10 Pro. The new update brings the MiFavor 10 UI which is based on the latest version of Android OS. Earlier this month, we had reported that the company had announced the new update which is now being rolled out.

According to past reports, many new features and functions had been mentioned. However, a few additional features are also present that were compiled in the form of lists by the company itself. These include:

The number of 5G smartphones in the market is gradually increasing and is expected to increase even more next year when more carriers would have rolled out their 5G networks. ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is one of the 5G phones that have been released so far. The phone was announced a few months back but went on sale last month. AnTuTu has now shared the benchmark score of the Axon 10 Pro 5G on its Weibo page.

The Axon 10 Pro 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and also has a Snapdragon X50 5G modem onboard. The device has a benchmark score of 430,654 points which is higher than the earlier score of 380k. This is because the device was tested this time around with version 8 of the app. This should place the device in the same category, performance wise, with other 5G phones. Chinese smartphone manufacturers are gearing up to launch their first 5G phones in China. Towards the end of July, ZTE had started with the reservations of the Axon 10 Pro 5G phone in China. At that time, it did not confirm on the exact release date. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed that the Axon 10 Pro 5G is now available for purchase through online platforms like ZTE Mall, JD, Suning, Tmall and more.

The Axon 10 Pro 5G has landed in China with a price tag of 4,999 Yuan. By this, it has become the first 5G phone to be available for purchase in China. The handset is equipped with a hybrid SIM slot. Master Lu, a benchmarking platform for smartphones from China has released its list of top 10 best performing smartphones for July 2019. The list includes some smartphones that are powered by new chipsets such as Snapdragon 855+, Kirin 810, Snapdragon 730, Snapdragon 730G and Helio P65. The list is led by the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G gaming smartphone.

The Axon 10 Pro 5G leads Master Lu’s best performing smartphones list with 409,008 score. It is followed by Snapdragon 855+ powered ASUS ROG Phone 2 gaming smartphone with a score 390,015. Placed on the third position is the Snapdragon 845 powered iQOO Neo gaming phone with a score 330,801. Master Lu claimed since the benchmarked ROG Phone 2 was an engineering unit, it recorded a low score. Probably, the final product is benchmarked, it may take over the numero uno position on Master Lu benchmarks list. By next month, the list may include new phones like Black Shark 2 Pro and iQOO Pro 5G phones that are powered by Snapdragon 855+.

The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G with 299,866 score is on fourth. It is fueled by the Kirin 980 chipset. The fifth position goes to Kirin 810 chipset powered Honor 9X Pro. It has recorded a score of 267,339. The Nova 5i Pro that features the same SoC as 9X Pro is sixth with 262,425 score. The Honor 9X is the third Kirin 810 in the list with a benchmarking score of 260,087.

A couple of months ago the ZTE Axon 10 Pro got 20x hybrid zoom via a software update from the company. This time ZTE is showing off the Axon 10 Pro 5G’s 20x hybrid zoom capabilities before the device’s slated launch. Clearly, ZTE is pretty proud of the setup they have going on here, and it’s not much of a surprise to see why.

A number of Chinese smartphone makers including Xiaomi, Huawei, OPPO, and ZTE have at least one 5G smartphone under their belt. Despite releasing these 5G models in Europe a few weeks back, they are not yet available for purchase in China. This is because China’s 5G rollout is still underway (licenses have been issued to carriers) and it doesn’t make sense to release these 5G models way before there’s actually any coverage. That changes next week as ZTE has announced that its Axon 10 Pro 5G model will be up for reservations starting July 23.

Reservations commence from July 23 but there is no word on a shipping date yet. On the other hand, Huawei revealed a few days back that its Mate 20 X 5G will go on sale on July 26. This could mean that customers will probably be able to get hold of the Huawei-made 5G model before ZTE. Huawei Mate 20 X 5G was already certified by TENAA a few days back. Today, its foldable 5G phone, the Mate X was also certified by the agency.

Apart from these two, it is said that there are two more 5G Huawei devices that were certified. It’s possible that one of these two is a Honor phone since the brand’s President, George Zhao had revealed that they had a 5G model incoming later this year.

These models should soon be joined by other 5G phones from brands like OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus. It is worth noting that Xiaomi, Lenovo, and even Samsung’s 5G models weren’t included in the first batch of 5G certifications in China.

ZTE’s Axon 10 Pro comes in two variants. There is a 4G version and a 5G version. An official press release by ZTE has disclosed that the latter has received its 5G CE Certificate.

The CE Certification is given to devices that meet the health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). The 5G CE Certification means that the Axon 10 Pro 5G is compliant with the requirements for entering European markets.

The 5G certification tests for electrical safety, electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetic compatibility, radio frequency performance, etc.. ZTE also revealed that the phone has also received technical approval of Du and Etisalat.

The Axon 10 Pro already launched in Finland as the first commercial 5G smartphone in Northern Europe and is also available in Dubai as the first 5G device in the Middle East. It is also expected to be one of the first commercially available 5G smartphones in China.

The Axon 10 Pro 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor and uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 5G modem. It has a curved AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch, 48MP triple rear cameras with 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom, and a 20MP selfie camera. Chinese telecommunications equipment giant ZTE has teamed up with Finnish telecom service provider Elisa to launch the Axon 10 Pro 5G in Finland. The launch of the 5G phone makes the device the first 5G flagship smartphone to become available in Northern Europe. It also signals the start of the release of the Axon 10 Pro 5G in Europe just as scheduled.

A press release by the Chinese tech giant indicates that the device will be sold on Elisa’s online and offline stores from May 28. This means the flagship is already on sale in Finland. The company disclosed that the Axon 10 Pro 5G has also been released in Dubai in partnership with Du. Further, the press release stated that “ZTE has deployed 5G device field tests with mainstream carriers in 8 countries around the world, including Austria, Australia, China, Finland, Spain, and Italy.” Thus, we may see the phone gets released in other countries in Europe soon. The 4G version of the phone is already available in China, Germany, Sweden and Finland.

The Axon 10 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor with the X50 5G modem and so offers 5G connectivity for super fast internet. ZTE unveiled its long-anticipated Axon 10 Pro 5G variant in China yesterday. The phone was announced alongside its 4G variant, which by the way, went on sale earlier today. ZTE has confirmed to us that the Axon 10 Pro 5G will be available in Europe in the first half of 2019. As we are almost halfway into the year, this timeline puts its release sometime within the next two months. A Europe launch for its 5G model makes sense since the new-gen wireless standard will roll out in a number of countries in the EU in 2019. Switzerland was first in Europe to roll out a commercial 5G network and will most likely be followed by countries like Finland, Austra, UK, Spain, and Italy. ZTE, the Chinese telecommunications giant, has unveiled its latest flagship phone – the Axon 10 Pro, in its home country of China. The Axon 10 Pro is also the company’s first 5G smartphone but it also has a 4G version.

The Axon 10 Pro has a 6.47-inch curved flexible AMOLED FHD+ display with really slim bezels. ZTE has used COP packaging technology which results in an ultra-thin lower bezel that measures just 1.8mm. The phone has a 92% screen-to-body ratio, is covered with Gorilla Glass and supports HDR10.

The Axon 10 pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. It is the first Snapdragon 855 phone with F2FS file system and AI Acceleration Engine. The F2FS File System improves storage read and write speeds as well as memory capabilities. And with the new gen AI Acceleration Engine, ZTE boasts your phone will still be as fast 20 months from now.

The Axon 10 Pro comes in multiple variants. There is a 6GB RAM + 128GB version, an 8GB RAM + 256GB version, and a 12GB RAM + 256GB version.

Coming to cameras, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is no walk-over. It has a 48MP f/1.7 primary camera, a 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera with a 125° FOV, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera. The phone has 3x optical zoom, 5X hybrid zoom, 10x digital zoom! Watch out OnePlus! There is also a 20MP sensor nestled inside the notch of the display.

The ZTE flagship has an in-display fingerprint scanner that unlocks in just 0.27s and support for Face ID too. It has stereo speakers (Dual Super Linear speakers), Dual SmartPA, and DTS:X Ultra. The 5G version has one SIM slot and MicroSD card slot while the 4G version has a hybrid dual SIM slot. Both have NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi. The Axon 10 Pro also has enhanced gaming features.

The 5G version uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 modem with a slot antenna design and a Smart SAR solution. To keep the device cool, ZTE uses liquid-cooling technology and “composite phase-change thermal materials” which allows the CPU to run at high temperatures for long periods without a drop in performance.

The Axon 10 Pro has a 4000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+ and wireless charging. It also has a USB Type-C 3.1 port for high-speed data transfer. The phone comes in only one color – Blue and is also covered in glass on the back. It runs MiFavor 9.1 based on Android Pie out of the box and has its own built-in AI assistant.

The Axon 10 Pro is priced at ¥3199 (~$472) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB version. The 8GB RAM version is ¥3699 (~$547) and the 12GB RAM version is ¥4199 (~$620). The phone will be sold on MyZTE.com, Tmall, and JD.com starting tomorrow but surprisingly none of them is the 5G version. ZTE says the 4G version will also go on sale on May 8 in Germany and it will launch the 5G version in Finland and Austria soon.

The Android 9 Pie OS comes loaded on the device along with the MiFavor 9.0 custom UI of the company. The handset features a waterdrop notched AMOLED display of 6.47 inches. The front notch of the Axon 10 Pro 5G is the home for the 20-megapixel selfie camera.
