ZTE has launched the Axon 11 SE 5G smartphone in China. It joins the Axon 11 family members that include Snapdragon 765G powered Axon 11 5G and Axon 11 Pro 5G phone that features Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. The handset has debuted as the cheapest ZTE branded 5G phone.

ZTE Axon 11 SE 5G specifications

The Axon 11 SE 5G has an IPS LTPS LCD panel of 6.53 inches. The upper-left corner positioned punch-hole houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The display offers 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ resolution and a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

The presence of Dimensity 800 5G brings support for dual-mode 5G on the Axon 11 SE 5G. The handset is equipped with up to 8 GB of RAM and built-in storage of up to 256 GB. There is a microSD card slot on the device for more storage. The Android 10 OS along with MiFlavor UI comes preinstalled on the smartphone.

The Axon 11 SE 5G has a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The triple camera setup present on the back panel of the smartphone has a 48-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor with a 120-degree field-of-view, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with 2cm focal length. The other features that are available on the Axon 11 SE 5G are rear-mounted fingerprint reader, dual-SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, and 3.5mm audio jack are also available on the smartphone.

The Axon 11 SE 5G has arrived in China in three options such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. They are priced at 1,998 Yuan (~$280), 2,298 Yuan (~$322), and 2,598 Yuan (~$364). The handset is now up for pre-orders in China.

ZTE is set to launch its next smartphone in a few days. The device will be called Axon 11 SE and will be the first handset to support 5G on all four carriers in China. Unlike other brands, ZTE is not teasing the features of its upcoming phone. But thanks to TENAA and now TMall and JD listings, we know most of the specs of this device.

The TMall and JD listings of ZTE Axon 11 SE do not have the renders of the device except for the above low-quality one but they do reveal some of the primary specs of the handset.

According to them, the upcoming 5G phone from ZTE will sport a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD screen. It will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC paired with 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB internal storage.

Further, it will feature a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and two 2MP snappers (likely macro and depth). As for selfie, it will come with a single 16MP camera at the front.

As per TENAA listing, the handset will run Android 10 and will be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. Other features of the ZTE Axon 11 SE includes USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The phone will be officially announced on June 1 and as far as pricing is concerned, it is expected to cost under 2,000 Yuan ($280).

ZTE recently confirmed that the upcoming Axon 11 SE will be the first 5G smartphone to support all four carriers in China such as China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom and China Broadcasting Network. The Chinese firm also confirmed that the Axon 11 SE will be made official on June 1. Recently, a new ZTE phone with model number ZTE 900N had surfaced on the database of China’s TENAA telecom authority. It seems to be the upcoming Axon 11 SE smartphone.

The TENAA listing states that the ZTE 900N is a 5G-ready handset. Its TENAA is fueled by an octa-core processor that works at 2.0GHz. According to a trustworthy Chinese tipster, it is fueled by the Dimensity 800 5G SoC.

The alleged Axon 11 SE has a 6.53-inch display that is equipped with a punch-hole at the top-left corner. It seems to feature an LCD screen that supports 1080 x 2340 pixels. The Android 10 OS along with the latest MiFavor UI will come preloaded on the smartphone.

It has a rated battery of 3,900mAh capacity and is expected to come with support for 18W fast charging. The handset may come in storage choices like 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB in China. It could be available in RAM options such as 6 GB and 8 GB.

The purported ZTE Axon 11 SE has a front camera of 16-megapixel. The back panel of the phone has a square-shaped camera module that houses a 48-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel sensor, and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses.  A fingerprint sensor can be also found on the backside of the device. The handset is speculated to arrive with a pricing of around 1,000 Yuan (~$141) in the home market.

ZTE, a well-known Chinse telecom giant has not been making many phones as it used to once after the US ban. However, the company is still in the phone business and is set to launch the first 5G smartphone with support for all the four carriers in China including China Broadcasting Network (CBN).

The three major carriers of China – China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom launched 5G networks for the public on November 1, 2019. Whereas, China Broadcasting Network launched its 5G network two months later in January 2020. It is the county’s only carrier to offer low-band 5G operating in the 703-798MHz range. Additionally, it is also testing 4.9GHz high band 5G.

That being said, there’s still not a single smartphone in the market to support 5G networks of all the four carriers in China. But that’s going to change soon as ZTE has successfully tested 5G VoNR (Voice over New Radio) for voice and video calls on CBN’s low-band 5G network on the occasion of ‘World Telecommunication Day’ on May 17.

The smartphone in question is said to be ZTE Axon 11 SE, a new member in the Axon 11 series. It will be announced officially on June 1. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about this handset at this moment. Anyway, we expect the company to soon drop teasers for the phone revealing its features.
