The AYANEO Pocket Air is a Dimensity 1200 SoC-powered handheld gaming console that was unveiled back in July. The initial plans were to make it available for pre-order in July only and begin shipping in August. But with the month of August ending, the brand has revealed its refreshed timelines for the console.

According to their recent announcement, the brand will start selling the console on September 6th at 12:00 UTC. They plan to send the console to Indiegogo supporters by the end of September. Now, when it comes to the cost, AYANEO is offering an Early Bird price of $279 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. Once the early bird units run out, backers on Indiegogo will have to pay $299 for the gaming handheld.

Moreover, the Pocket Air with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will go for $329 (early bird), or you can get one with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for $399 (early bird). However, it’s worth mentioning that these prices will go up by $50 once AYANEO runs out of Early Bird units.

AYANEO Pocket Air specs

The AYANEO Pocket Air features a 5.5-inch 1080P AMOLED display with wide viewing angles and an impressive color gamut range. It boasts a pixel density of 404 PPI, covering 185% sRGB color gamut volume, 109% NTSC color gamut volume, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 96% Adobe RGB color gamut. Under the hood, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 CPU and offers memory configurations of 6 or 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and storage options of 128 or 256GB UFS 3.1.

In terms of design, it sports an elegant Retro White color scheme and incorporates an X8-level air-cooled cooling system for efficient heat dissipation. The device is equipped with a large 7350mAh battery for extended gaming sessions. It features a Master controller for Android, a hall-sensing joystick, Hall triggers, and an X-axis linear motor for precise tactile feedback. Additionally, it comes with dual six-axis gyroscopes for accurate motion tracking.

Unique features include the SoundTap+Magic Sound Vibration System. Connectivity options comprise a full-featured USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and slots for Nano-SIM and Micro SD cards. A fingerprint reader is integrated into the power key. The device measures 224 x 89.5 x 17mm and weighs 380g. AYA NEO is gearing up to launch two new Windows-based handheld gaming consoles in the market called the AYA NEO Air 1S and the AYA NEO KUN. Both of these consoles will be powered by the cutting-edge AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs. That being said, the brand plans to launch a less powerful, Android-based console as well called the AYA NEO Pocket Air.

The AYA NEO Pocket Air, which was initially planned to launch in the second quarter of 2023, may face challenges in meeting that timeline as we enter the final month of Q2. Nevertheless, the brand has unveiled the specifications of the Pocket Air console to maintain enthusiasm among eager fans.

The AYA NEO Pocket Air will measure 224 x 89.5 x 17mm and weighs approximately 380g. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 CPU, the console aims to provide smooth performance and responsiveness. The device boasts a 5.5″ AMOLED screen, although the resolution has not been specified.

It comes equipped with a Master controller Android edition, including a hall-sensing joystick and hall trigger for precise control during gameplay. The inclusion of an X-axis linear motor enhances the gaming experience with vibration feedback.

For added convenience and security, the console integrates a power button with a fingerprint recognition module. The AYA Neo Pocket Air gaming handheld has been announced. The new device is an Android-powered handheld with an OLED display. The company has scheduled the release of the AYA Neo Pocket Air for later this year.

The Neo Pocket Air is AYA’s first-ever Android-powered gaming handheld. It has a 5.5-inch OLED screen, built-in game controllers, and a re-enactment of the classic gaming console of the past. The Pocket Air will come with left and right analog sticks and a D-Pad action button. There are dedicated function keys and trigger buttons and the gadget has a retro-inspired color scheme. The trigger buttons and joysticks will be equipped with hall sensors.

The AYA Neo Pocket Air’s full specs have not been released yet. As per its operating system, it will run an Android-based OS and will also have the AYA space launcher. The space launcher is designed to help the user to adjust the settings and navigate the games collection.

AYA is yet to provide any pricing details for the upcoming Neo Pocket Air. The platform is also positioned to accommodate games outside the AYA ecosystem. A mid-range processor could be a credible choice in this regard. The Neo Pocket Air should come with a decent spec sheet to make it compete with some of the leading lights in the gaming handheld segment. The Logitech G Cloud and Razer Edge are among the leading products in this category of cloud gaming products.

AYA continues to deliver top-notch gaming handheld products, with a few others lined up for 2023. The lineup of gaming handhelds for 2023 includes models with x86 chips and Windows software.
