On April 20 BenQ launched two new 24.1-inch IPS monitors – the RD240Q and SW242Q. This article is going to focus on the latter one, which is a 2K professional monitor. It comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio. One notable aspect of this monitor is the hood, which you can see from the image. It covers the display from the ambient light and reduces reflections.

QHD resolution with a focus on color accuracy for 4,399 Yuan (~$619).

The SW242Q reaches up to 400 nits of peak brightness, supports HDR 10 standard, and also equips a TÜV- certified anti-reflective coating that will offer better visibility in certain lighting conditions. Speaking of color accuracy, this monitor boasts 99% Adobe RGB, 100% Rec.709 and sRGB, and 98% DCI-P3 color gamut rating. This monitor can also switch between color modes with a few clicks. You can also use color management software to automatically adjust the color.

As compared to the predecessor SW240, this new product mainly brings improvements in color accuracy, color control, and the build. The SW242Q reportedly undergoes rigorous factory calibration before reaching the shelves. The manufacturer emphasizes the color accuracy of this new product. The average color accuracy of this monitor remains within 1.5. The SW series also supports hardware-based color calibration to ensure a proper color gamut coverage over long-term usage.

This monitor comes with a built-in 3D LUT color lookup table, through which you can adjust the color on the RGB three-dimensional coordinates.

For connectivity, you’ll get a HDMI 2.0, a DP 1.4, and a Type-C port that can also charge your phone with up to 90W reverse power supply. In addition, there is also an SD Card slot. The SW242Q is available for an initial price of 4,399 Yuan (~$619).
