<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/11/ios-26-every-android-feature/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple’s iOS 26</a> Beta 2 is here, and while it brings a host of improvements and refinements over the first beta, that doesn’t mean it’s ready for everyone. Between limited feature availability, hardware restrictions, and lingering bugs, there are several good reasons why you might want to hold off on installing iOS 26 Beta 2.</p>

<h3>Still a Developer Beta, Not a Public One</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="980" height="551" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/iOS-26.jpg?x44794" alt="iOS-26" class="wp-image-690944" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/iOS-26.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/iOS-26-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/iOS-26-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/iOS-26-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/iOS-26-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /><figcaption>Apple iOS 26</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Although iOS 26 Beta 2 is more stable than Beta 1, it’s still a developer release, not a public beta. That means it’s designed for testing, not daily reliability. You may encounter random app crashes, system slowdowns, or UI glitches. If you rely on your iPhone for work, travel, or critical communication, this isn’t the OS version you want to be running just yet.</p>

<h3>Apple Intelligence Is Still MIA</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="iOS 26 Android Features" class="wp-image-691431" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-Visual-Intelligence.jpg 1648w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Apple iOS 26: Visual Intelligence</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Much of the iOS 26 hype is centered around Apple Intelligence, which is Apple&#8217;s answer to AI features from Google. But there’s a catch: most of these features are locked behind hardware restrictions. Unless you’re using an iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, or one of the latest iPhone 16 models, you won’t get access to ChatGPT-powered Visual Intelligence, on-screen search, or the enhanced AI assistant tools. So this could be a frustrating experience for older iPhone users that use the iPhone 14 or iPhone 13 lineup.</p>

<h3>Battery Life and Performance Issues Still Linger</h3>

<p>The Cupertino based giant just rolled out the iOS 2 Beta 2 a day before, and there are already complaints from early adopters. Some have claimed that their iPhones have offered the worst battery life. This is due to a mix of reasons including inconsistent standby times and overheating during light use. Some background processes tied to new features have been taxing the iPhone&#8217;s chips more heavily. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="iOS 26 Android Features" class="wp-image-691434" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-2048x1152.png 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-1920x1080.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Apple-iOS-26-Live-Translate-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>iOS 26 Live Translate</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>While Apple has refined the beta and efficiency by passing tasks in the background, these optimizations are still not consistent across all iPhones. So you might want to consider the battery life overall before joining the iOS 26 Beta 2. There have already been issues with the general day-to-day use, with issues related to the redesigned Control Center and updated Camera app. </p>

<h3>Better Builds Are Right Around the Corner</h3>

<p>With Apple’s <strong>Public Beta</strong> expected in early July and a <strong>stable release coming in September</strong>, it’s smarter to wait. The public beta will likely fix many of the core bugs and be optimized for broader hardware support. If you&#8217;re not a developer and can wait for a bit longer, I&#8217;d suggest waiting before running into the current iOS 26 Beta builds.</p>

<p>Google might be planning on kicking off the Android 16 beta program soon. The <a href="https://developer.android.com/about/versions/16" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">developer preview</a> already went live nearly two months ago, and now, it appears that a Google employee may have revealed the release date for the Android 16 beta builds as well.</p>

<h2>Android 16 Beta</h2>

<p>The Search Engine giant officially confirmed the Android 16 beta will release the Android 16 beta in January 2025. This would be the first early build, with latter iterations planned to drop in February and March. Unfortunately, Google did not reveal the exact date for the Android 16 beta rollout. However, a comment from a Google employee was recently spotted by <em><a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/android-16-beta-release-date-3517882/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android Authority</a></em> on the Android Gerrit that may have confirmed the release date.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-1024x512.jpg?x44794" alt="Android 16 Baklava" class="wp-image-653285" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-1068x534.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Android-16-Baklava.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Android 16 Baklava</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>It seems like Google aims to kick off the Android 16 beta 3 on 12th March 2025. On the other hand, the first beta build did not get a set date of release. However, the employee did mention January 22 and February 19th, which could imply the first and second beta build of the Android 16. Since the beta 3 build is arriving in March, we can expect Google to launch the final build of Android 16 sometime in the second quarter of 2025.</p>

<p>So the stable update would likely arrive on Pixel devices around April or May, which is in line with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/01/android-16-early-release-minor-update-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">our previous report</a>. To recall, Android 16 is expected to offer a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/19/android-16-multitasking-like-oneplus-open-canvas/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">split screen mode inspired by the OxygenOS</a> on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-open/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus Open</a>. This means you might be able to split three apps at the same time. There may also be support for improved WiFi security, Adaptive Refresh Rate (ARR), and much more.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>has finally kicked off the One UI 7 beta, which brings the new Android 15 OS. The brand has just rolled out the update for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-s24-series/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24 series </a>of smartphones. The One UI 7 is the brand&#8217;s latest edition custom skin, so here&#8217;s everything you need to know.</p>

<h2>Samsung One UI 7 Beta Finally Rolls Out</h2>

<p>The South Korean tech giant was rumored to release the One UI 7 beta on December 5. This has been confirmed since the company started rolling out the update in Germany. Samsung began its One UI 7 Beta with its flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-plus/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24+</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24 Ultra</a>. So as of right now, the One UI 7 beta is exclusive to the high end smartphones and excludes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-fe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24 FE</a>. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="816" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-1024x816.jpg?x44794" alt="OneUI-7-Beta" class="wp-image-659533" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-1024x816.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-300x239.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-768x612.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-696x555.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-1068x851.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta-527x420.jpg 527w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/OneUI-7-Beta.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>One UI 7 Beta</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Registrations to join the beta program open at midnight, although it is only rolling out in Germany at the moment. So the beta is also limited to Samsung&#8217;s German customers. The brand will likely release the One UI 7 beta in other regions in the coming weeks. This is a major software update that brings massive changes to the UI. This update not only brings the new Android 15 OS, it also brings a visual overhaul and revamped animations. These changes in the UI can be best seen in the control center.</p>

<p>You also get a refreshed design on the new media player. Known tipster Ice Universe also shared a short video of him using the One UI 7 on a Galaxy S24 series model. We can expect more smartphone models to get the update soon, although there is no official word for it yet. The One UI 7 beta program will likely get a wider release as well, so stay tuned for more as we will be providing more updates. We already know that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/01/samsung-discontinues-dex-app-for-windows-in-one-ui-7/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">One UI 7 is discontinuing DeX app for Windows</a>, but you can click <strong><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/23/everything-we-know-about-samsung-one-ui-7-0-update/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here </a></strong>to check everything we know about the One UI 7 update.</p>

<p>Samsung recently launched its next-generation <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/foldable-smartphone">foldable smartphones</a> in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, running <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> 13 with its own One UI 5.1.1. The South Korean giant is already working on a newer One UI 6 user interface based on the Android 14 operating system.</p>

<p>Now, the company has announced that it will expand the Samsung One UI 6 Beta program to four more countries &#8212; China, India, the UK, and Poland. For those who are unaware, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/08/11/samsung-galaxy-s23-oneui-6-android-14/">program is already available</a> in the US, South Korea, and Germany.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1000" height="623" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-One-UI-6.jpeg?x44794" alt="Samsung One UI 6 Beta" class="wp-image-558089" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-One-UI-6.jpeg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-One-UI-6-300x187.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-One-UI-6-768x478.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-One-UI-6-696x434.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-One-UI-6-674x420.jpeg 674w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure></div>

<p>While the company has announced that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-6">One UI 6</a> program will be expanded to four countries, it has not yet been revealed when access will be available to users, but rumors indicate that it could be released later this week.</p>

<p>In countries where the beta program is available, eligible users can try out the latest version of Samsung&#8217;s custom Android-based operating system ahead of the official release. As of now, the program is open to Galaxy S23 users, and enrollment is done through the Samsung Members app. We expect the beta program to be expanded to more phones, including the Galaxy S22 lineup, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-5/">Galaxy Z Fold 5</a>, in the coming weeks.<a href="https://www.sammobile.com/category/firmware-news/"></a></p>

<p>Samsung One UI 6 is based on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-14">Android 14 operating system</a> and comes with a number of features and improvements. It offers a new design language and a more intuitive interface, along with some additional privacy features.</p>

<p>It hasn&#8217;t even been a week since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/07/06/meta-threads-twitter-alternative-available-download/">Meta unveiled Threads</a>, and the internet is blowing up with news from the platform. An announcement from a <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/meta">Meta</a> engineer on the platform revealed that <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> users can now get a sneak peek at the upcoming features of the app by signing up for its beta version. The app, which was launched just this week, has already amassed an astonishing 30 million sign-ups by Thursday morning. Unfortunately, there is no news regarding an <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/ios">iOS</a> beta program &#8211; yet</p>

<h3>Users can also expect a lot of bugs to accompany future beta builds</h3>

<p>While the Android beta builds are not yet available, the program holds great promise, especially considering the platform&#8217;s current lack of several requested features. Users have been eagerly awaiting functionalities such as hashtags, direct messages, a full web version, chronological feeds, a dedicated &#8220;following&#8221; feed, and the ability to delete a profile without affecting their <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/instagram">Instagram</a> account.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="Threads" class="wp-image-549871" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Add-a-little-bit-of-body-text.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>However, it&#8217;s important to note that beta software often comes with its fair share of bugs and instabilities. Those who choose to participate should be comfortable with the associated risks. As Meta&#8217;s @0xjessel pointed out, the beta version will introduce new features and bug fixes, but users will have to accept a potentially less stable build due to its early stage of development. Additionally, Meta will be collecting and sharing user data to enhance the app&#8217;s performance, as mentioned in the invitation.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re feeling adventurous and want to be among the first to experience the supposed &#8216;future&#8217; of <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/social-media">social media</a>, signing up for the beta access is a worthwhile choice. The best part is that there is no waitlist; any Android device owner can join the program and have the opportunity to try out upcoming builds as they are released.</p>

<p>Meta looks like it is already making big changes in the landscape, and it will be interesting to see how the platform shapes up in the future. With the Android beta version opening its doors, users can catch a glimpse of the exciting features that may soon change the way we connect and engage online.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google </a>has just released the beta for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nearby-share/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android Nearby Share</a> app for the Windows PC platform. The app was introduced as a means to offer a simpler method of quickly sharing files between your own devices, and is finally making its way to Windows.</p>

<p>The Search Engine giant had first launched the Nearby Share app back in 2020 for easier and faster file sharing and is now expanding to include the PC platform. According to Google, nearly 3 billion active Android devices can use Nearby Share to swiftly send and receive files between Android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. And now, the new Nearby Share Beta offers users a way to send and receive files from their Windows PC. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Nearby-Share-Beta-for-Windows-1024x576-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Google" class="wp-image-526974" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Nearby-Share-Beta-for-Windows-1024x576-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Nearby-Share-Beta-for-Windows-1024x576-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Nearby-Share-Beta-for-Windows-1024x576-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Nearby-Share-Beta-for-Windows-1024x576-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Nearby-Share-Beta-for-Windows-1024x576-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>This is made possible thanks to the beta app to make the transfer of files easier. To work seamlessly, the beta app runs in the background so you don&#8217;t need to manually run the app every time for transfer files. The data transfer includes files like photos, videos, and documents that can simply be dragged and dropped into the app. Users can also click on the &#8220;Send with Nearby Share” in the right click menu. Following this, one will see a list of all nearby Android devices and can select the one they wish to transfer the files to.</p>

<p>As of right now, Google has just announced the Nearby Share beta for Windows in the US and certain other regions across the globe. Also keep in mind that ARM powered devices are not supported at the moment. But for those interested, you can try out the beta on your Windows PC by click on the link <a href="https://android.com/better-together/nearby-share-app/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>here</strong></a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/whatsapp/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">WhatsApp </a>has apparently began testing a brand new feature for the tablets that run on the Android operating system. The company&#8217;s latest beta is testing a new Split View feature. So here are all the details.</p>

<p>According to a new <a href="https://wabetainfo.com/whatsapp-beta-for-android-gets-a-tweaked-interface-for-the-tablet-version/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>WaBetaInfo </em></a>report, the popular messaging platform has just released a new update for the Android beta app that is currently available on the Google Play Store. So this feature has now made it into the beta program. The version in question is the Android WhatsApp version 2.22.21.6. This build of the chatting application was released back in September 2022 and was compatible with tablets but wasn&#8217;t optimized for these larger screen devices.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="540" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/WA-TWEAKED-INTERFACE-TABLET-ANDROID-768x540-1.webp?x44794" alt="WhatsApp" class="wp-image-520700" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/WA-TWEAKED-INTERFACE-TABLET-ANDROID-768x540-1.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/WA-TWEAKED-INTERFACE-TABLET-ANDROID-768x540-1-300x211.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/WA-TWEAKED-INTERFACE-TABLET-ANDROID-768x540-1-696x489.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/WA-TWEAKED-INTERFACE-TABLET-ANDROID-768x540-1-597x420.webp 597w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/WA-TWEAKED-INTERFACE-TABLET-ANDROID-768x540-1-100x70.webp 100w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure></div>

<p>The new feature will basically be major news for tablet users since it will seek to optimize the user interface entirely for these larger devices. Thanks to this feature, users will basically be able to view and use two different sections of the app at the same time side by side. In other words, one can fully utilize the entire display of their Android tablets. It adds functionality while also optimizing the overall experience.</p>

<p>Previously, users had to open a chat on the tablet version of WhatsApp, which would take up the entire screen and would have to hit return to see other chats. But now, the new redesign of the interface will let users seamlessly switch to other chats, since the chat list can be found on the other side. Unfortunately, it is still unclear when this feature will finally be rolling out for the stable build. So stick around for more updates.</p>

<p>Despite being launched in various markets, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing Phone (1)</a> was not released in the US for various reasons. However, the company&#8217;s CEO recently revealed that a US launch is in the works, and now, the device is finally available in the region. So here are all the details.</p>

<p>The smartphone maker has announced earlier today (11th January 2023) that the Phone (1) has finally been released in the US. For those unaware, this model is the brand&#8217;s first ever smartphone and it is available for purchase through a beta membership. This is an interesting beta program where you need to pay 300 US Dollars to enroll. Although, this sum not only gets you the membership but also the smartphone as well.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing " class="wp-image-507933" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/gsmarena_006.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Notably, the beta members are not obligated to provide feedback regarding this beta program either. Carl Pei had stated last week that &#8220;The reason why we didn&#8217;t launch in the US is because you need a lot of additional technical support to support all the carriers and their unique customizations that they need to make on top of Android. We felt that we weren&#8217;t ready before. Now we are in discussions with some carriers in the US to potentially launch a future product there.&#8221;</p>

<p>As of right now, Nothing is still working on convincing more carries to offer support for its smartphone since the device is only being offered through the beta program on the T-Mobile 5G network. On the other hand, official carries support for Verizon and AT&amp;T is still quite limited, with no 5G support at the moment.</p>

<p>For those unaware, Rainbox Six Mobile follows a similar format and gameplay to its PC and console counterparts. Its a 5v5 tactical shooter that pits two teams against one another. But unlike the PC and console version, the game is planned to be a free to play title and its beta test went live back on September 12. As of right now, the new mobile game is available in only seven countries, namely USA, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Philippines, and India.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the developers have also stated that they plan on sharing more invites and bring new changes to the beta program as well. Ubisoft announced through its official Twitter handle that it is rolling out invitations for some pre-registered users through Google Play in selected Closed Beta eligible regions. In other words, even registered users will not immediately get access to the game, but the company plans on slowly increasing the number of beta players and frequency of invitations over the next couple of weeks.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-453179 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2.png?x44794" alt="Rainbow Six Mobile" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Rainbow-Six-Mobile_2-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, the close beta test for Rainbox Six Mobile is only exclusive to Android users at the moment. So for those interested, you can expect to find the classic 5v5 Attack vs Defense game mode in the beta test, same as the PC and console version of the game. There are multiple operators in the game that each bring a unique gadget that play into the &#8216;tactical&#8217; shooter aspect of this game. There are two game modes in the beta right now, including Bomb and Secure Area, with the maps selection also being limited to Bank and Border.</p>

<p>Now, a <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/first-galaxy-watch-4-one-ui-4-5-beta-update-available-for-download/">new report</a> from SamMobile claims that the South Korean giant has started rolling out the first beta build for the smartwatches which is based on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wear-os">Wear OS</a> 3.5 for those users who have enrolled their devices for this program.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-405567 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Watch 4" width="1000" height="745" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-300x224.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-768x572.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-485x360.jpg 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-696x519.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Galaxy-Watch-4-564x420.jpg 564w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p>To enroll in the program, you will need to open the Samsung Members application on a Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartphone">smartphone</a> that is connected to the smartwatch and sign into the account. If you are in an eligible region, then there will be a banner for the beta program. Click on the banner and follow the on-screen instructions to register.</p>
<p>Once you have registered for the program, you will start receiving the new beta build of Samsung&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui">One UI</a> 4.5 on your smartwatch. It comes with several new features, including a user interface for the dual SIM functionality, improved notifications, improvements for the built-in keyboard, and support for handwriting, among others.</p>
<p>As of now, there&#8217;s no information available about how long will the beta program last before the South Korean giant start rolling out the stable update for all the users. While the timeline is not confirmed yet, we expect the update with the new features to be rolled out to all the users in the coming months.</p>

The app often comes into the discussion for its robust online privacy and security. Like every other app or service, Telegram also needs to monetize itself to keep the platform up and running. The messaging app recently started an ad platform for public one-to-many channels, and now it appears that the company will launch a Premium version with extra features that users will have to pay for.</p>
<p>Recently while testing the latest beta version 8.7.2 of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/telegram/">Telegram</a> iOS app, the <a href="https://t.me/tgbeta/4624">Telegram Beta channel</a> discovered a variety of reaction emojis and stickers that have been labeled as Telegram Premium exclusives. If users select these stickers and emojis, they will be asked to register for the paid service.</p>

<pre>source: @tgbeta</pre>
<p>Free users are barred from viewing the premium stickers in a conversation thread, and they’ll also be prompted to subscribe to the premium service. The premium users will also get a gradient star icon next to their username.</p>
<p>Currently, these premium features are only available in tests and more details regarding the pricing and how the users will be able to sign up are yet to be known.</p>
<p>Another feature known as the Avatar creator has been detected by the <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Telegram/comments/ug3co8/avatar_creator_is_coming/">r/telegram</a> subreddit. Apparently, this feature will let users combine gradients with emoji, stickers, or a monogram to create simple or patterned avatars. This was found in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/macOS/">macOS beta</a>.</p>
<p>The appearance of Telegram premium in beta indicates that a paid subscription of the messaging app might be close. Telegram is yet to make an official statement regarding the same.</p>
<p>What are your thoughts about the Telegram premium? Will you put your money into it, or you are happy with the free version? Let us know in the comments.</p>

<p>In the previous report, it was announced that the Chinese smartphone maker will be announcing the iQOO Connect community forums on 27th April 2022. So earlier today, the company&#8217;s official Twitter handle shared more information regarding the new platform. As of right now, the brand has revealed that the beta testing phase for the Connect forums has begun. So for those interested, they can participate in the beta by clicking on this link <a href="https://t.co/DpwB1j7iVu" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>here</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Notably, the brand also announced that founding members that take part in the beta will receive special benefits. Furthermore, lucky members will also earn special badges and tags as well. This will also include getting early access to iQOO updates and content. Another major promotional offer is a chance to win exclusive Amazon vouchers and even access to live events hosted by the company in the future.</p>

<p>For those unaware, the Connect community forums is a platform where iQOO users are able to connect and chat about smartphones and related tech in the first phase of its roll out. In the second phase, users can expect to see more details related to esports as well. This platform will also offer OTA software update announcements and the forums will also have moderators to help with the overall experience, similar to community forums from other brands.</p>

Furthermore, the game also requires users to create a new account, which means users of PUBG Mobile cannot access their old accounts.</p>
<p>This also implies that Indian users would have to create new profiles with new usernames since the old PUBG Mobile servers are still live, so it will prompt users that their older gamer tags are already taken. Android users were given the to beta test the early version of the game. But unfortunately, registrations for the game&#8217;s beta are not available anymore. For those that did register, they can simply follow <a href="https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.pubg.imobile/join" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">this link</a> and click on &#8216;Download it on Google Play&#8217; below.</p>

<p>Notably, since Battlegrounds Mobile India is in beta, users might face an internal server error. Although, trying to access the game later might resolve the issue. The game also asks the users for permission to access media and files when first launching the game and is only available for those over 18 years of age in India. It even notifies the users that all data for this game is stored in India. Recently, the game has been facing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/07/battlegrounds-mobile-india-scrutiny-security-risks/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">scrutiny from government officials</a> that have asked for the ban of the game before its launch, however, an Indian Ministry has clarified that it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/16/battlegrounds-mobile-india-cant-be-banned-before-its-launch-indian-ministry/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">can&#8217;t ban the game prior to its release</a>.</p>

<p>According to the <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/535/019.htm">information available</a> so far from the Chinese media, the internal beta version of the new function for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-talk">Mi Talk</a> application will be available from 8th February to 21st February and the official rollout will be from 22nd February.</p>
<p>As for the feature, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi says that the inspiration behind this remote assistance feature is the older-generation during the times of pandemic. It states that many people cannot visit their friends and family members because of the COVID-19 pandemic which makes it difficult for elderly people to learn and operate some of the functions on their smartphone.</p>
<p>With the new &#8220;Remote Assistance&#8221; function in the MIUI, the Xiaomi user can turn on the feature during a call and allow the contact to operate the smartphone who can solve the problem that is being faced by the user.</p>

It adds some features and brings several updates. On top of all the adjustments, it brings in an even cleaner look with semi transparent backgrounds and a few ironed out graphics. Let&#8217;s take a closer look.</p>
<p>The changes are mostly about polishing the design and making the experience smoother with the app drawer. Now it can have a semi-transparent background, so you can see your wallpaper even under the white/black/gray layer. The transparency is customizable &#8211; that way you can have your precious main image and Dark Mode at the same time.</p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> has also demonstrated the launcher’s flexible app management options. Now you can create your own custom groups and add and remove apps from them easily, to ensure you don’t have to waste any time finding what you need. Things are much more streamlined than before, and things were already pretty decent before this.</p>
<p><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><b>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </b><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/12/the-standard-and-nfc-versions-of-the-mi-band-4-goes-up-for-pre-order-on-giztop/"><strong>Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Goes Up for Pre-Order on Giztop</strong></a></div></div></p>
<p>Outside of that, performance has been significantly improved, so much so that POCO Launcher is now much more responsive and fluid. There are also numerous adjustments to the interface and settings screen, while some annoying bugs have been fixed. It isn&#8217;t clear when the stable version of launcher will be out, as the tweet only talked about the beta version.</p>

<p>You are unfortunately out of luck if you wish to get enrolled in the Beta Programme as it is already full. If more slots open in the future however, you can <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mi.android.globallauncher">visit this page</a>, sign up for the program and download Poco Launcher 2.0 from the Play Store.</p>
