Now, a new official poll has hinted at the developers possibly working on a &#8220;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/bgmi-lite/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Lite</a>&#8221; version of popular battle royale title.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-425620 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-165-e1637134942108.png?x44794" alt="BGMI" width="672" height="374" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-165-e1637134942108.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-165-e1637134942108-300x167.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The poll was shared on the official Discord channel of the mobile game. It suggests that the developers might be working on a new Lite version of Battlegrounds Mobile India. For those unaware, before PUBG Mobile was banned in India, PUBG Mobile Lite had also been released globally. This version of the game was specifically built for entry level affordable smartphones that did not meet the minimum hardware requirements to run PUBG Mobile. The Lite variant could even run on devices with or under 2GB of RAM and even featured lower graphics.</p>
<p>With BGMI being popular in India and entry level budget devices still being one of the most popular segments in the region, it won&#8217;t arrive as a surprise if Krafton actually does release Lite version. Unfortunately, there is still no official announcement regarding this variant or any details as to when it might possibly launch. Looking at the poll, we find a list of reasons why they believe Indian players might wants BGMI Lite, this includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>I can’t play BGMI on my low end device.</li>
<li>I can play BGMI, but I’ll have better frame rates and performance in Lite version on my device.</li>
<li>I spent money in Lite version and want to transfer my data/inventory</li>
<li>I like the maps and Skins in Lite version.</li>
</ul>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-401648 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759.jpg?x44794" alt="Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)" width="759" height="422" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759.jpg 759w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759-696x387.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759-755x420.jpg 755w" sizes="(max-width: 759px) 100vw, 759px" /></p>
<p>According to a <a href="https://www.sportskeeda.com/bgmi/news-new-bgmi-lite-poll-official-discord-channel-hints-possible-india-release" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>SportsKeeda</em> </a>report, a local esports athlete named Abhijeet “Ghatak” stated that the company is actually working on the Lite version of Battlegrounds Mobile India, which could launch sometime by the end of next month. If it does launch, it would likely feature lower requirements and even have a smaller download size as well. Keep in mind that this has yet to be confirmed as of right now, so take it with a pinch of salt. Oddly, we had reported earlier this year that a Lite version <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/23/battleground-mobile-india-lite-might-not-be-a-thing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">might not be a thing</a> due to the game already being stripped down PUBG Mobile and supporting two regionally locked games might have them compete against one another. But, the company might have other plans.</p>

But various reasons suggest that Krafton might not be working on a BGMI Lite.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-397746 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Battlegrounds-Mobile-India-BGMI.jpg?x44794" alt="Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)" width="770" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Battlegrounds-Mobile-India-BGMI.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Battlegrounds-Mobile-India-BGMI-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Battlegrounds-Mobile-India-BGMI-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Battlegrounds-Mobile-India-BGMI-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Battlegrounds-Mobile-India-BGMI-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<h4>BGMI is already a Striped Down PUBG Mobile</h4>
<p>While in the past <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pubg-mobile/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">PUBG Mobile</a> existed alongside <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pubg-mobile-lite/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">PUBG Mobile Lite</a>, we might not see a same deal with BGMI. For starters, Battlegrounds Mobile India is essentially a cut down version of the original PUBG Mobile and arrives with a lot of the content not being present in this version. This makes the game have a significantly lighter download of around 700MB. Furthermore, the game&#8217;s system requirements is just 2GB of RAM to run the title smoothly.</p>
<p>Krafton has even made a lot of the assets and side content of the game downloadable separately, while users are also given an option to install additional advanced resource packs based on their devices capabilities as well. To put it simply, Krafton has given quite a bit of thought behind this move that specifically caters to the Indian audience. Notably, the game can run well even on low to mid range smartphones of the current market, although, aging handsets could still struggle with BGMI.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-401648 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759.jpg?x44794" alt="Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)" width="759" height="422" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759.jpg 759w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759-696x387.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/pubg_1_759-755x420.jpg 755w" sizes="(max-width: 759px) 100vw, 759px" /></p>
<h4>Supporting two BGMI games will be difficult</h4>
<p>While PUBG Mobile Lite has a system requirement of just 1GB of RAM and is generally more accessible, the current BGMI version offers a much better battle royale gameplay experience overall. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/19/battlegrounds-mobile-india-ios-may-be-while-away/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Krafton has yet to launch the iOS port</a> for the game as well, so it is also highly unlikely that it will launch a new version of the game before bringing the recently launched title to one of the &#8220;preferred&#8221; platforms. A major issue with BGMI Lite would be the division of the player base as the game is exclusive to India. So having two games will split Krafton&#8217;s audience and adding content and continuing support for both titles simultaneously will be even more difficult.</p>
