These two intersections of months have become the months for gaming mobile phones to compete with each other.

The Black Shark Game Phone 2 Pro is the second mobile phone released by Black Shark this year and second game mobile phone released in the second half of the year 2019. Usually, Black Shark releases two mobile phones in a year, which is bound to have the same ignominious situation because of the processor. However, this year the Black Shark Game Phone 2 Pro has employed Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 Plus, becoming the second mobile phone in the market to pack the Snapdragon 855 Plus, under its hood.

The complete design language and great lights

The recently unveiled Black Shark 2 Pro bears a strong continuity from the Black Shark 2 name. In other words, the aforesaid models have been designed as part of the same series.

As expected, Black Shark has retained the back design; however, made some adjustments in the middle portion. The Pro variant surpasses the Black Shark 2 in terms of shape and the texture and offers faster speed. The Black Shark Game Phone 2 Pro obviously is better than the design styles adopted by the rest of the game phones.

It is also worth noting that a feminine hygiene product is a mere myth. Personally, I have never purchased it for my girlfriend. In fact, I don’t even have a girlfriend.

The new phone sports a smaller “S” as compared to its predecessor, while narrowing the main portion. While both the upper, as well as the lower part of the original Black Shark 2 are almost empty, the Black Shark 2 Pro fills that place with a couple of tiny lights. The new is without an iota of doubt, more appealing.

I felt that the high and low undulation, coupled with the lines behind it and the shape of the deck placed in the middle bears a striking resemblance to a space warship or a sports car. Unlike the back, the front portion sports a traditional appearance, which is quite similar to the Black Shark 2. For example, it uses a non-shaped full-screen design, and there’s a lot of handheld space on both sides for a superior gaming experience.

The Black Shark 2 Pro’s screen should be the same as Black Shark 2, 6.39 inches, 2340×1080 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate (yes, no high refresh rate) Samsung AMOLED screen and parameters are already popular. Following the installation of the independent display control chip, it is safe to say that the refresh rate is the best feature of the phone.

Nevertheless, smartphone lovers are likely to give a lot of importance to screen parameters, which are likely to be different. Keeping in line with that, would you rather choose a domestic AMOLED high refresh rate screen or go for the Samsung AMOLED screen?

Aside from that, the Black Shark 2 Pro adopts the same screen fingerprint technology, which delivers the same unlocking speed as Xiaomi.

Snapdragon 855 Plus is powerful, but the core is a completely unique gameplay experience

On the performance front, the phone uses the 855 Plus model, which was originally found on the ROG Phone 2. Apparently, those making gaming smartphones are paying a lot of attention to the performance in this area.

Compared with the regular version of the Snapdragon 855, Qualcomm has made two major improvements in the Snapdragon 855 Plus:

Core frequency upgraded from 2.84GHz to 2.96GHz

The graphics core Adreno 640 is optimized for gaming and entertainment functions, with a 15% improvement in the performance.

As far as the running scores are concerned, the GeekBench 4.4.1 version scored 3,629 single cores and multi-core scores of 11277. It has comprehensively improved compared to Snapdragon 855, and 3D Mark’s scores are quite good.

The graphics processing unit has undergone a radical overhaul in terms of frequency, improving from 585MHz to 672MHz. This increase is even larget than the CPU. It is worth mentioning here that the GPU frequency of the Snapdragon 855 was forcibly increased to 810 MHz via the back door when the Shark Phone 2 was used officially. But this was higher than the Snapdragon 855 Plus.

Note that there’s still no frequency for this SD 855 Plus. A Black Shark official explained that Qualcomm has refrained from doing so to allow all Snapdragon 855 Plus to operate at the official standard frequency, but run from several times. It is also worth noting that GPU performance has improved as well.

The Black Shark featured 12GB of large memory this time. It is used to come it, there is a lot of memory anyway.” Equipped with UFS 3.0 storage, it obviously loads large games faster.

Overall, there’s hardly anything to worry about when it comes to the performance of the phone, given that the basic frequency isn’t too big, and the performance isn’t likely to change dramatically.

The burning question here is how can manufacturers offer a relatively different experience with their game phones, and this is a matter of concern for Black Shark as well. The ROG Phone 2, on the other hand, offers an unparalleled experience, thanks to “Van” and Tencent launching 120fps “QQ Speed.”

Black Shark 2 Pro – The high frame rate for the Black Shark 2 Pro is here to stay. The manufacturers opted to work on the handling part. In the wake of the original Black Shark phone receiving criticism for touch-related problems, the company managed to slowly convert the touch performance and operation into the best part of the phone.

According to official data, The touch delay of the Black Shark 2 Pro is further minimized, breaking through the 40ms mark. Note that the average delay has been reduced to 34.7ms. If this is supposed to be a stable average, avid gamers will experience enhanced “gun-to-heart” in the FPS game.

As a regular gamer, I still experienced the delay of 200ms Bluetooth headset, without experiencing any difference with the 10ms of the previous model. If I tried the Peace Elite, for example, I wouldn’t be impressed. For professional players, these operational problems may prove to be a big disappointment.

Coming to the heat-dissipating part, I noticed thermal sensation after turning the roast chicken mode on. Playing Peace Elite on a normal mode will neither offer the “Ultra HD” image quality, nor the “very high” frame rate. heat.

The unique pressure-sensing function of the Black Shark isn’t worth ignoring. With Apple dumping the 3D Touch, it looks like Black Shark is the only manufacturer that offers pressure-sensitive function. While the 3D Touch needs special adaptation, the Black Shark’s pressure is mapped and free to support more games. This feature is available on Black Shark 2, not Black Shark 2 Pro.

I personally felt that a user might need some time to use to the function. I attempted to reduce the reaction time and found that it is easier to misuse in an unusual scenario.

Black Shark also comes in handy in checking the usage of the function. According to the company, 70% of the users of the Black Shark 2 play “eat chicken,” and a whopping 90% of the players use the pressure. If this data is anything to go by, we can say it is quite impressive from the usage rate.

The camera sensor has been upgraded, but battery capacity remains the same

The Pro variant of the Black Shark 2 gaming phone houses a 48MP sensor, while its predecessor used the Samsung GM1, which has now been replaced with the Sony IMX 586. In theory, this is likely to be better. Let’s have a look in the samples below:

After having a look at the performance of the camera samples, it seems safe to say that the Black Shark 2 Pro, which is a game phone, has achieved the mainstream level in the camera performance, but it is slightly weaker in the multi-camera program.

So far, multiple mainstream mobile phones have resorted to some sort of deviations in the evolutionary route. The Black Shark 2 Pro, on the other hand still continues to draw its juices from a 4000mAh battery. Given that the screen size is still the same for the Black Shark 2 Pro, it makes a lot of sense to maintain the battery capacity as well.

The 4000mAh capacity isn’t too small for this size. It remains to be seen whether or not Black Shark will come up with a bigger screen size to accommodate a larger battery in the near future. Nevertheless, 6 hours of bright screen life from a 4000mAh battery seems quite reasonable to me.

The battery supports fast charging capacity of 27W. Despite having the same power as the Xiaomi 9, the compatibility of Black Shark phones with fast charging is relatively better than Xiaomi-branded handsets. The charging head of PD 3.0 is more adaptable.

Black sharks also need to consider the hardware and improve the headset

Professional users are still likely to find a huge room for improvement in the Black Shark 2 Pro especially with the absence of NFC function, inconvenience on the go, for example, the elimination of the 3.5mm headphone port. Using a wired headset is quite inconvenient.

Despite these drawbacks, I am quite pleased with the hardware of the Black Shark 2 Pro. While I can provide a logical explanation for a few missing technical indicators, I still have a few things to say about specific strategies including the accessories part.

The lighting effect is unique to gaming mobile phones, and so are the accessories. Regrettably, Black Shark isn’t paying enough attention to the accessories in the propaganda. The back clip fan or the biplane handle is no doubt simply remarkable, but I think, the initial criticisms and videos are merely a single machine, lacking a few engaging test plays.

The second problem is related to the software. Black Shark needs to focus on it immediately. A lot of old users have reported that the Bug official repair is too slow, and some of the bugs are submitted even to the sea. It is imperative for you to ensure you are not just watching the game on the Black Shark.

Thankfully, the picture-in-picture function that was revealed at the press conference indicated that Black Shark is leaving no stone unturned in a bid to improve this department.

Aside from that, the company also needs to figure out how it can continuously improve the ease of use of JOY UI. According to a lot of users, Black Shark should try to brush MIUI. This is due to the fact that the existing JOY UI is rhythm in function and bug fix- still very slow. In my opinion, the current MIUI is kind of bloated. For those planning to use it as a mobile phone, the ease of use can be a big problem.

Trying to do this well, the black shark is easy to go further.

This is an incremental update

Black Shark resorts to adopting a strong rhythm following a significant change as far as the product iteration rhythm is concerned. The relationship between the original Black Shark and the Black Shark Helo was identical, and the relationship between Black Shark 2 and Black Shark 2 Pro is the same as well.

Overall, the Black Shark 2 Pro does not offer a lot to cheer about in the performance and specifications department. However, the improvement of product ID design, along with enhancement of its “X Core” with three “Lights of the Mirage” at the press conference is nothing short of impressive.

The color scheme is quite appealing as well. Taking this into consideration, the Black Shark 2 Pro shows a lot of improvement. The 12GB + 128GB model will set you back to 2999, which is quite reasonable. I feel Black Shark 2 Pro is getting better. Feel free to share your thoughts on the new phone in the comments section below!

Topping the list for June is the Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone with a score of 382,331 points. The Red Magic 3 is the first phone to come with a built-in cooling fan similar to the one you will find in a notebook PC. It is followed by another gaming smartphone – the Black Shark 2. Both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. As a matter of fact, all the phones on the list have a Snapdragon 855 chipset under their hoods.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition takes the third spot with a score of 371021 points while the standard Mi 9 is fourth with 370884 points. The OnePlus 7 Pro and its 90Hz display claim the fifth position to make it into the top 5.

The Meizu 16S which manages to keep the bezels slim without rocking a notch or punch hole is at number 6 with 367,981 points. In what can be said to be a well-timed coincidence, the overshadowed OnePlus 7 is at number 7 with 367,718 points.

The Redmi K20 Pro is also on the list, joining the OnePlus 7 as the second phone with a pop-up selfie camera. The Redmi K20 Pro marks the first time a Redmi device will make it to AnTuTu’s top 10 list and we are pretty sure it won’t be the last.

Samsung’s Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 close the top 10 list with 361,449 points and 360327 points respectively.

The company recently launched the first flagship from its Redmi sub-brand: Redmi K20 Pro, and guess what, it is an affordable flagship. Now, we think that there is nothing better than comparing the new entry with the other affordable flagships from the Chinese company, in order to establish if it is really the best value for money Xiaomi flagship. The most powerful flagships with an affordable price tag released in 2019 by Xiaomi are the Mi 9 and the gaming-centric Black Shark 2. We exclude the Mi Mix 3 5G as it is way more expensive and not suitable for people who want the highest value for money. So here is a specs comparison between the best Xiaomi value flagships.

Design

If we only judge by basing on the look, Redmi K20 Pro wins the design comparison thanks to its more futuristic form factor. It has a nearly borderless display with a pop-up camera placed on a motorized mechanism, as well as a stunning liquid finish on the back. However, if you are looking for the best build quality, then Xiaomi Mi 9 may be a better choice. It has a glass design protected by Gorilla Glass 5 as well as a 7000 series aluminum frame which is much more sturdy than Redmi K20 Pro’s frame. Xiaomi Mi 9 is even thinner. The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has a gaming-centric aggressive design and it is far from being elegant. It even sports thick bezels around the display.

Display

Xiaomi Mi 9 and Redmi K20 Pro are slightly superior to the Black Shark 2 due to their support to the HDR standard which provides richer colors. However, you get an amazing AMOLED display in each case, so you should not mind so much about it. And in each case, you even get an under-display fingerprint reader, as well as a diagonal of 6.39 inches.

Hardware/Software

While each of these phones is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset providing the most awesome flagship-class performances in every scenario, what makes the difference on the hardware side is the memory configuration. In this trio, the Black Shark 2 is the only device to come with up to 8 GB of RAM, and it even comes with a more advanced cooling system. It is a gaming phone, so it is kinda obvious that it has to provide higher performances than normal devices. Xiaomi Mi 9, Redmi K20 Pro and Black Shark 2 run Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Camera

Due to its brighter aperture for three out of four sensors, the Xiaomi Mi 9 is the most convincing camera phone. It shots amazing photos in every light condition and it has fast and accurate autofocus. It can even record 4K videos at 60 fps and slow motion videos at 1080p and 960 fps, that is amazing. The second place goes to the Redmi K20 Pro which has a very similar setup.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi 9’s battery life is the weakest point of this handset. Redmi K20 Pro and Xiaomi Black Shark 2 have a way bigger battery capacity and so much longer battery life. But Xiaomi Mi 9 is the only to support wireless charging.

Price

If you want to grab a unit of the Redmi K20 Pro, you are willing to pay about €350/$400 in the Chinese market. It will soon hit the global market as the Mi 9T, but we still do not know its official price. Xiaomi Mi 9 and Black Shark 2 start from €450/$510 globally. My favorite one is the Redmi K20 Pro due to its better design and a bigger battery, despite the Mi 9 has better cameras/builds and the Black Shark 2 comes with more RAM in its high-end variant.

The benchmarking platform the top 10 list of smartphones with topnotch performance for May 2019. Various flagship phones from China were tested between May 1 and May 30 to gauge their performance. Also, at least 100 units per model were tested using the latest edition of the AnTuTu benchmarking app to compile the list for the previous month.

As it can be seen in the list below, the Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming-focused phone has bagged number one position in the top 10 best performing smartphones list with an average benchmarking score of 380,921. Apart from the Red Magic 3, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is also a new entrant in the list. The ZTE has managed to salvage the second position with an AnTuTu score of 376,916.

The next positions on the list are occupied by Xiaomi devices. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition is on the third place with an AnTuTu score of 376,092. It is followed by Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone with a benchmarking score of 374,736. Placed on the fifth position is Xiaomi Mi 9 with a score of 372,422.

Editor’s Pick: Samsung’s deepfake AI can Create your Video from a Single Photo

The Meizu 16s has occupied the sixth position with an AnTuTu score of 370,315. Another new entrant on the list is OnePlus 7 Pro. With an average benchmarking score of 368,834, the OnePlus phone is now sitting on the seventh spot on the list. The Lenovo Z6 Pro is on the eight position with a score of 363,399. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are on the ninth and tenth positions. They have respectively scored 362,450 and 361,394.

It is surprising to see the OnePlus 7 Pro only managing to secure seventh position on the list. AnTuTu has claimed that it is because of the high refresh rate of the display that consumes more power. So, the operating system running on the phone has been optimized for increasing its endurance and it does not completely take advantage of Snapdragon 855 mobile platform’s potential. Hence, the smartphone has acquired low average benchmarking score on AnTuTu.

The Vivo iQOO is no longer present on the list because its average benchmarking score is below 360k. AnTuTu has claimed that the AnTuTu score of the phone went down after the recent software update. All the ten phones that have made it to the list of top 10 best performing Android phones for May 2019 are powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset. None of the Kirin 985 SoC driven phone are present on the list. Probably, the upcoming Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro phones may make it to the list in the next month’s AnTuTu’s top 10 list of best performing Android phone.

Strangely, the OPPO 10x Zoom Edition is missing from the list. Hopefully, it will appear along with some with other phones such as Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7 in the next month’s AnTuTu list.

The gaming-centric phone from Xiaomi is fully loaded with specs and it has arrived with a starting price tag of Rs. 39,999 (~$575).

Black Shark 2 Specifications and Features

Unlike current flagship phones that are equipped with glass bodies, the Black Shark 2 comes with a full metallic chassis with an RGB-lit LED logo on the rear. There are LEDs along the edges that glow according to the gaming effects. The smartphone features a 6.39-inch AMOLED TrueView display that is surrounded by slim bezels. The display features of the Black Shark 2 are full HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, DC dimming, Always-on Display, eye protect mode and in-screen fingerprint sensor. The display is powered by an image processing chip for enhanced color reproduction. The Master Touch function enables pressure-sensitive controls on the display of the phone.

The Snapdragon 855 fuels the phone along with 4,000mAh battery that carries support for Quick Charge 4.0. The two-style Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology can drop the processor’s temperate by up to 14 degrees. The SoC is supported by up to 12 GB of RAM. The highest configuration model of the phone has 256 GB of native storage. The BlackShark OS flavored Android 9 Pie OS is loaded on the device.
Now, ahead of the launch, a teaser posted by Flipkart for its new Flipkart Edge program confirms that the Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone will be exclusively available on its e-commerce platform in India.

The smartphone comes with a different design from the original and its predecessor Black Shark Helo. The phone doesn’t have super thin bezels surrounding the display, which isn’t surprising but are quite thin than those of its predecessors.

Black Shark 2 comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The company is calling it a TrueView Display which restores true color to the screen.

It also packs a dedicated image processing chip, which automatically adjusts the display parameters for the best color output. It also has features like Full DC dimming, MEMC intelligent motion, Super HDR, and an eye protection mode.

The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor and comes in four variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 256GB, and 12GB RAM + 256GB. It’s not yet known which variant will make it to the Indian shores.

It comes with Liquid Cooling 3.0 with its tower-style cooling design that efficiently covers the heat-generating components of the phone. Liquid Cooling 3.0 is claimed to be 20 times more efficient in heat dissipation.

As for the camera department, on the front, there’s a 20MP 0.9μm f/2.0 sensor covered with a 5P lens. On the rear side, the phone features a 48MP f/1.75 0.8μm primary camera paired with a 12MP f/2.2 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.

The smartphone has an in-display fingerprint scanner and comes with the usual set of connectivity options, as well as a USB Type-C port. It has stereo speakers, triple-microphones for stereo recording, and uses AI to reduce background noise.

The smartphone has its front and back panel with a glass layer while the body is made up of metal with anodized finish on top and the buttons are also made up of metal. In the scratch test, it appears that while the phone doesn’t get easily scratched, but the grooves are quite prominent.

Because of the metal build, the smartphone passes through the bend test. Even when the pressure is applied, the phone hardly bends, thanks to the better structural integrity because of metal build.

The phone comes with dual back camera sensors, which are protected by a layer of scratch-resistant glass. As for the display, in the heat test, it took around 20 seconds before the screen started turning white, but seems like it never fully recovered.

As for the specifications, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED 1080×2340 HDR display featuring a pressure-sensitive system for mapping the buttons on its sides. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Soc, 8/12GB RAM and a vapour chamber cooling system for keeping its temperature low while in gaming mode.

Since mobile games have become popular, phone manufacturers are spending a lot of R&D on gaming-centric smartphones. Xiaomi Black Shark is one of the famous gaming smartphone manufacturers, and the Black Shark and Black Shark Helo have achieved a good amount of popularity. Now, we have got our hands on the new model, so let’s do a quick Xiaomi Black Shark 2 hands on.

Unlike other smartphones, Xiaomi Black Shark 2 doesn’t adopt a notch screen which pursues the higher screen-to-body ratio. Black Shark 2 keeps the bezels on top and bottom which I call them as traditional bezels. There are two narrow bezels on the two sides of its display. Although the Black Shark 2 doesn’t adopt the notch display, the design looks great, and I do love the display design. The handset is equipped with two speakers in the top and bottom bezels respectively.

On the back, Black Shark 2 is covered in glass with metal. The texture is nice even though the rear panel is not flat. If you have ever held the Black Shark Helo, then know that the texture is the same on the new Black Shark 2. There are two cameras on the left top corner, which host the 48MP+13MP setup, and a flashlight vertically set below the module. I need to add that, compared to Xiaomi Mi 9, the rear camera module of Black Shark 2 protrudes a bit too much.

The ‘S’ logo stands out quite well on its back. It’s cool and attractive. As the phone comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, there’s no fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

Black Shark 2 features two RGB light strips on the phone’s two sides gleaming when the phone is charging, receiving a message or winning a game, which is similar to the Halo light strip on Vivo iQOO. You can switch to the Game Mode by turning on the SHARK button which is set beside the power button on the phone’s right side, and the volume key is on the left side. The SIM card slot and the Type-C charging port is placed at the bottom. The Black Shark 2 lacks the 3.5mm earphone jack, but there is a Type-C-Audio adapter in the boxing which can solve this problem.

In general, the design of Black Shark 2 is cool that makes you think it’s a gaming console. If you like playing mobile games, the phone should be one of your top priorities.

The Black Shark 2 is powered by Snapdragon 855 processor and ships with 6.39-inch AMOLED screen having a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio and 403PPI. It receives power from 4000mAh with 27W fast charging which has juice for you to enjoy your game. In the camera department, there are dual rear cameras – a 48MP main lens with f/1.75 aperture and a 12MP Tele-photo lens with f/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera ships with a 20MP camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The Black Shark 2 is priced around $549 for 6GB+128GB, $599 for 8GB+128GB, $649 for 8GB+256GB and $849 for 12GB+256GB.

Earlier, its new independent brand, Redmi, launched two new smartphones, a pair of wireless earbuds, and a washing machine. Hours later, Black Shark, the gaming phone company it has a stake in announced its third gaming phone – the Black Shark 2.

Black Shark 2 Design

The Black Shark 2 takes on a different design from the original and the Black Shark Helo. It also has the largest display of all the three phones. The phone doesn’t have super thin bezels which isn’t surprising but they are smaller than those of its predecessors.

On the rear, the overall design is different too. The cameras are arranged vertically and positioned on the left. They aren’t flush with the body though. The now recognizable Black Shark logo sits at the center and there is an LED underneath it. There are also LEDs on the sides and a Black Shark Key switch on top of the power button.

Specs and features

The Black Shark 2 is the first gaming phone released this year and it tries to make a big statement. The display is a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Black Shark calls it a Trueview Display which restores true color to the screen. With a dedicated image processing chip, the phone automatically adjusts the display parameters for the best color output. There are also features like Full DC dimming, MEMC intelligent motion, Super HDR, and an eye protection mode.

The Black Shark 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor and comes in four variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 256GB, and 12GB RAM + 256GB.

The Black Shark 2 is a gaming phone but that doesn’t mean it has to slack in the camera department. On the front above the display is a 20MP 0.9μm f/2.0 sensor covered with a 5P lens. On the rear is a 48MP f/1.75 0.8μm primary camera paired with a 12MP f/2.2 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. The camera can record in 4K at 30fps, record slow-motion videos in 720p at 240fps and in 1080p at 120fps.

The Black Shark 2 has an in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB type-C port. Under its hood is a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging. It has stereo speakers, triple-microphones for stereo recording, and uses AI to reduce background noise.

In terms of gaming, the phone comes with a feature called Magic Press which lets you customize the touch controls on the screen. Magic Press also lets you customize the pressure sensitivity of the two sides of the screen. Black Shark say they have also reduced the touch response time to 43.5ms for a smoother gaming experience.

Don’t worry about your device heating up as Liquid Cooling 3.0 with its tower-style cooling design which is a combination of a liquid-cooling pipe and liquid-cooling plate, efficiently covers the heat-generating components of the phone. Liquid Cooling 3.0 is 20 times more efficient in heat dissipation. There is also a cooling fan attachment for the phone that helps bring the temperature down by an extra 5 degrees. This comes in handy if you will be playing for long hours.

The company has so far launched two phones — Black Shark and Black Shark Helo.

For gaming smartphones, one of the critical factors is battery life and the company seems to work out a new solution for the upcoming smartphone. Black Shark CEO Peter said on Weibo that the phone will come with an e-sports grade battery.

He added that this will increase the charging and discharging performance by 60 percent, thanks to the optimized battery chemical system and tweaking the charge and discharge algorithm. He has also confirmed that the phone will come with Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology.

Earlier, the phone passed through AnTuTu under the model name, BlackShark Skywalker, powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset. The device packs 8GB + 128GB memory configuration, but we know for sure that there’s a higher-end model, with 12GB of RAM on board, which was spotted on Geekbench a couple of days back.

The listing has also confirmed that the phone will come with a display having 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. Finally, the phone manages to score 359,973, which is pretty average for the new Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The smartphone has also passed through 3C certification which confirmed that the phone will come with 27W fast charging, same as the Xiaomi Mi 9. A recently leaked hands-on image also gave us a glimpse of the new camera arrangement of the phone, vertically aligned dual cameras at the back.

To know for sure about the phone’s specifications, pricing, and availability information, we’ll have to wait until the official launch event, which is scheduled on 18th March in China. Xiaomi is also holding an event on the same day to launch Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 7, and a few other products.

Also, Black Shark CEO Wu Shimin had revealed earlier this week that the Black Shark 2 will be launching soon with Liquid Cool 3.0 technology. Multiple listings of the “Black Shark AAA” smartphone have appeared on Geekbench. As usual, the Geekbench listing has revealed the key specs of the phone.

All the Geekbench listings of the rumored Black Shark 2 show that it is powered by the Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. The SoC is assisted by 12 GB of RAM. The Android 9 Pie OS is loaded on the device. In the single-core and multi-core benchmarking tests of Geekbench, the Black Shark AA handset has respectively scored 3516 and 11413 points.

In January, the purported Black Shark 2 was spotted with Snapdragon 855 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. In the single core test, it had scored 3494 and 11419 in the multi-core test. Hence, it appears that the smartphone will be available 8 GB and 12 GB RAM variants. These handsets may respectively feature 128 GB and 256 GB of native storage. The inclusion of Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology suggests that the Black Shark 2 may come with a larger cooling pipe.

The 3C certification of the Black Shark 2 had revealed that it will carry support for 27W fast charging like the recently unveiled Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship phone. A leaked hands-on image of the phone that had appeared recently had revealed that the phone will be sporting the identical design language as the predecessor models. The image had also revealed that the unlike the Black Shark Helo phone that has the vertical dual camera setup placed in the middle of the upper half of its rear shell, the upcoming Black Shark 2 will feature its vertical dual camera system at the top-left corner of its back panel.

The Chinese manufacturer is yet to confirm on the launch date of the smartphone. The original Black Shark phone had debut last year in April. Hence, the Black Shark 2 is likely to go official either in this month or April.

The CEO of the company shared a promotional video on Weibo this morning. The teaser video didn’t reveal any detail about the phone but the caption did say the Black Shark 2 will come with “Liquid Cooling 3.0” technology.

Based on a rough translation of the post, we think Liquid Cooling 3.0 will cover a larger area inside the phone or maybe have a larger cooling pipe. The official Black Shark account also reshared the original post and confirmed in the caption that the phone will be called Black Shark Gaming Phone 2.

Some rumors have claimed that the phone may hit the market as Black Shark Skywalker. On 3C, the device has surfaced as SKW-A0 which appears to be the model number of the smartphone. Also, a hands-on image of the phone has also been leaked to reveal its design.

There is no confirmation on whether the upcoming gaming phone from Xiaomi will be called Black Shark Skywalker. The reason why the rumor mill using the said moniker is that a device with the same name had appeared on Geekbench in the previous month. The listing had revealed that the phone is equipped with Snapdragon 855 chipset, 8 GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie OS.

The 3C approval of a new Black Shark phone with model number SKW-A0 confirms that it will be shipped with 27W charger (MDY-10-EH model number). It is the same charger that is included in the retail box of the Xiaomi Mi 9. Apart from the charging rate of the device, it 3C listing does not contain any other information.

On Weibo, leaksters are claiming that there will be a higher variant of the phone with Snapdragon 855 SoC and 12 GB of RAM. For enhanced gaming, it come with Game Turbo feature. The chin of the device could be as thin as 5mm. Earlier in this month, Xiaomi’s Product Director Wang Teng Thomas had claimed that the next Black Shark phone is a well-designed device and it is packed with exciting features. Black Shark has been dropping teasers counting down to the day on its Weibo page. Two of its latest teasers confirm some features of the phone.

The teaser released yesterday confirms the Black Shark 2 will have support for liquid cooling. The original Black Shark gaming phone also has liquid cooling but we don’t know if Black Shark is making any changes for that of the new phone or it will be the same. The teaser for today reveals the phone will have great signal reception so there are no issues while playing online games.

Following the leaked poster that surfaced a few days ago, Black Shark itself has confirmed that it has a product launch on Tuesday, October 23 and the official posters confirm it is for the Black Shark 2.

Black Shark has released two posters confirming the event. Both of them have a silhouette of the phone as the background. As you can see, the speaker grille above the display is the same as that in these live photos from yesterday. The phone also has a neon green line that runs around the frame.

[envira-gallery id=”217712″]

The second poster shows the bottom half of the phone’s rear and also counts down to the event which is five days from today. Wondering who is on both posters? That’s Zhang Daxian, a Chinese actor and game anchor who will be at the event.

The Black Shark gaming phone was released in April and six months later, a successor is already on the way. The Black Shark 2 will come with a Snapdragon 845 processor, dual rear cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It will keep the 5.99-inch screen of the original as well as the 4,000mAh battery. We have no idea if it will sell for higher than the original or have the same launch price.

A leaked poster says it will launch on October 23 but neither Black Shark nor Xiaomi has confirmed the date. Nevertheless, a couple of live photos have surfaced and they give us a closer look at the phone.

The Black Shark 2 is in a case similar to the one that ships with the original. There is also a protective glass covering the display. Irrespective, we can still make out some key features.

[envira-gallery id=”217520″]

The bezels haven’t really reduced but there are some changes. For example, the speaker is no longer on the same line as the front-facing camera. It is now closer to the frame and has a much a wider slit. We hope this means the stereo speakers are louder and sound better. The chin is also bare now as it is no longer home to the fingerprint scanner.

On the rear, there are a lot more changes. Gone is the triangle patterned plastic of the original. In its place is plain glass with a Black Shark logo in the center which has an RGB light underneath as revealed in a hands-on video.

The Black Shark 2 has dual rear cameras but they now sit in the middle of the phone and are arranged vertically. There is a LED flash above the sensors and a fingerprint scanner below. All four are lined up in a straight line. The phone has its volume rocker and power button on the right just like its predecessor, and a third key we believe is the Shark Key that provides a performance boost when activated is on the left.

The Black Shark 2 is expected to be unveiled on October 23. The original model is also expected to get a global launch soon.

Today, a Geekbench benchmark listing of a smartphone labelled as “blackshark AWM-A0” has surfaced today. It is speculated that it could be the upcoming Black Shark 2 smartphone. The same Black Shark model number was approved by TENAA in the previous month.

According to the Geekbench listing, the “blackshark AWM-A0” is equipped with Snapdragon 845 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. It is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. In the single-core test of Geekbench, it has recorded a score of 2403 and it has managed to score 8389 points in the multi-core test.

The leaked invitation that had surfaced yesterday had carried Black Shark Hela moniker for the handset. It revealed that the smartphone will be made official at 6 PM (local time) in China on Oct. 23. Xiaomi is yet to confirm on the existence of a new Black Shark gaming smartphone. The Oct. 23 launch for the Black Shark 2 seems a bit doubtful since Xiaomi will be launching the Mi MIX 3 flagship phone on Oct. 25.

A leaked video of the alleged Black Shark 2 that had surfaced in the recent past had revealed that it would be arriving with cool lighting effects like the recently announced Razer Phone 2. The TENAA images of the phone had revealed that its design does not different much from the original Black Shark phone.

According to TENAA listing of Blackshark AWM-A0, it features a 5.99-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display with FHD+ resolution and Snapdragon 845 chipset. The successor which is expected to be called the Black Shark 2 was seen on TENAA back in September. Now a poster has surfaced which reveals the launch date of a new Black Shark product some say might be the successor.

The poster has a green-theme just like the manufacturer’s official color. It states the device is named Black Shark Hela and it is a new device which will launch on October 23 at 1800 hrs local China time.

There are speculations that the launch is for the Black Shark 2 gaming phone. The device already surfaced on TENAA and while there doesn’t seem to be a big change under the hood, the Black Shark 2 looks much better than its predecessor based on the hands-on video that surfaced recently.

The phone has been reported to sport a 5.99-inch screen, a Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It will also have dual rear cameras, RGB lights, and a 4000mAh battery capacity.

After Razer announced its second-generation gaming smartphone — Razer Phone 2, Xiaomi is now working on its second-generation gaming phone, dubbed as Black Shark 2.

A couple of the weeks ago, the phone appeared on TENAA, revealing key specifications. Now, a video of the phone has leaked online, which reveals the phone’s design and shows off the cool lighting effects on the device.

The video shows that the phone will come with two light-up bars on each side of the frame, left and right, just below the power button and volume rocker. The leaked video shows breathing lighting effect on the bars, which synchronises with the Black Shark branding on the back.

It also shows that the phone will come with a dual-camera setup on the back and will be placed in the top-center position, same as the original Black Shark phone. Unlike its predecessor, the Black Shark 2 will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The TENAA listing of the the upcoming Black Shark 2 reveals that the phone carries model number AWM-A0. It will feature a 5.99-inch 18:9 display with 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution,DCI-P3 and colour gamut of up to 97 percent. It seems unlikely that the company will offer 120Hz refresh rate similar to what Razer offers on its new gaming phone.
