All of them are fueled by the same flagship chipset, all come with 5G connectivity and all can provide blazing speeds and amazing gaming experience. We are obviously talking about POCO F2 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10, and Black Shark 3. They carry different price tags, but all of them can be considered affordable flagships if we look at street prices. Here is a comparison that will help you understand the pros and cons of each device.

Design

I personally think that the most attractive design belongs to Xiaomi Mi 10. It offers a higher screen-to-body ratio, a curved screen (despite not everyone likes it due to usability-related issues), and a less invasive camera module. But POCO F2 Pro still offers an amazing design with its notch-less display, a pop-up camera, a glass back, and an aluminum frame. Black Shark 3 is not the most elegant device out there as it has an aggressive and gaming-centric design, but it offers some interesting gaming features such as triggers and magnetic charging.

Display

Black Shark 3 and Xiaomi Mi 10 offer the same display specifications, including a 6.67-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution, the HDR10+ certification, and a high 90 Hz refresh rate. Further, they both feature powerful stereo speakers. POCO F2 Pro lacks a high refresh rate and stereo speakers. That is why Black Shark 3 and Xiaomi Mi 10 win the multimedia comparison. They are at the same level when it comes to the display, so you can choose one or the other according to your tastes.

Hardware/Software

In the hardware department, these three handsets are even more similar. All are flagship killers powered by the best Qualcomm’s chipset: the Snapdragon 865 running at a max frequency of 2.8 GHz. They all feature LPDDR5 RAM, but Xiaomi Mi 10 and Black Shark 3 offer up to 12 GB of RAM, while POCO F2 Pro stops at 8 GB. On the other hand, POCO F2 Pro has a slightly faster UFS 3.1 storage. But I prefer having more RAM than slightly faster storage: UFS 3.0 is enough and it is impossible to notice the difference in daily use. Given that they launched in 2020, all of these devices obviously run Android 10 customized by MIUI 11.

Camera

Unfortunately, it lacks a telephoto lens and it can not be considered a top camera phone, but Xiaomi Mi 10 offers definitely better camera hardware than POCO F2 Pro and Black Shark 3. And given that the software is the same, it provides a better photo and video quality. It boasts a 108 MP main sensor that can record videos with an 8K resolution. The silver medal goes to the POCO F2 Pro: it records 8K videos as well, but with an inferior main camera and without OIS. Black Shark 3 is just a typical midrange camera phone.

Battery

The differences in battery capacities between these handsets are marginal. That is why despite it has a smaller battery, we believe that POCO F2 Pro may last more on a single charge due to its standard refresh rate. On the other hand, Black Shark 3 offers the fastest charging technology in the market with a 65W power: it is definitely more relevant. Xiaomi Mi 10 is the only which supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Price

POCO F2 Pro is the most affordable handset with a €499/$538 starting price globally, Black Shark 3 costs €599/$646 and Xiaomi Mi 10 goes for €879/$948 in its base variant, but it can be found at very interesting street prices. Xiaomi Mi 10 is the most advanced device due to the presence of wireless charging and better cameras, but there are no huge differences in this trio. Black Shark 3 is a definitely better device for gamers, while you can still get an awesome user experience with POCO F2 Pro, but it lacks a high refresh rate. We do not think the differences between specifications of Xiaomi Mi 10 and POCO F2 Pro justify the price difference between the two handsets.

We decided to compare them in order to clear all the doubts regarding their specifications and tell you which one is worth buying. One is Xiaomi Mi 10, which is the vanilla version of the main Xiaomi’s flagship lineup. Then we saw the Redmi K30 Pro series and for this comparison, we chose the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom that is the most advanced version of the K30 lineup. Last but not least, the gaming phone Black Shark 3. Here you will learn the differences between these handsets as well as their strong and weak points.

Design

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom come with very elegant and premium designs. The former sports a punch-hole display, while the latter has a notch-less and holeless screen thanks to the presence of a pop-up selfie camera. Both come with a glass back and an aluminum frame. But I personally prefer the Xiaomi Mi 10 due to its amazing curved display, its very high screen-to-body ratio and its very minimal glass back sporting a smaller camera module. Black Shark 3 is a gaming-centric device with a gaming-centric design, so its aesthetics are specifically targeted to gamers, who get useful shoulder buttons and LED lights.

Display

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Black Shark 3 are equipped with more advanced displays compared to the Redmi K30 Pro. The two flagships have two displays with the same specifications, including HDR10+ and a smooth 90 Hz refresh rate, as well as the Super AMOLED technology and a Full HD+ resolution. Redmi K30 Pro Zoom has HDR10+ as well, but unfortunately, it lacks a high refresh rate.

Hardware/Software

With all of these devices, you get the amazing Snapdragon 865 chipset by Qualcomm, despite their price is not excessive. On the paper, Redmi K30 Pro Zoom looks better since it sports UFS 3.1 native storage and up to 512 GB of internal storage. But the advanced cooling system of the Black Shark 3 and its gaming-centric features make it more interesting for power users. However, there will be only marginal differences in the performances of these three handsets. Android 10 and MIUI 11 are installed out of the box on all of these flagships.

Camera

If you need the most advanced camera, just do not go for the Black Shark 3. It lacks a high-end main camera and a telephoto sensor, so it simply not an impressive camera phone. Xiaomi Mi 10 has the most awesome main sensor with a 108 MP resolution, but the OIS-enabled 64 MP sensor found on the Redmi K30 Pro is supported by a better secondary sensor: we are talking about a telephoto lens with OIS and 3x optical zoom (absent on the Mi 10).

Battery

With the Xiaomi Mi 10, you get a bigger battery, but we suppose that Redmi K30 Pro Zoom will last more since it lacks a 90 Hz refresh rate. However, we still recommend the Xiaomi Mi 10 because of the marginal difference and the support to both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Black Shark 3 does not support wireless charging, but it has the fastest wired charging technology and it supports magnetic charging, which is very comfortable during gaming sessions.

Price

We will refer to the Chinese prices since China is the only country in which all of these phones are available. Redmi K30 Pro Zoom base is CNY 3,799 ($535), Xiaomi Mi 10 starts at 4299 Yuan ($610), and Black Shark 3 is priced at CNY 3,499 ($496) for the base variant. There is not a definitive winner of this comparison. As a casual user, I would go for the Xiaomi Mi 10 since it offers a better display than Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, a better camera than Black Shark 3 and wireless charging which is not present on both its rivals. But for gamers who do not care about high photo quality, Black Shark 3 is actually a better option. More or less, Redmi K30 Pro can be considered a Xiaomi Mi 10 with an inferior display and more interesting cameras.

According to industry sources, the Black Shark 3’s 6.7-inches OLED panel with 2400 x 1080 resolution is supplied by Samsung Display. This is the same OCTA OLED rigid panel the firm is supplying to Huawei for its new P40 and P40 Plus.

Samsung Display was the sole supplier of 2019’s Black Shark 2 and Black Shark 2 Pro.
However, the OCTA technology used on Samsung Display panels, which is equipped on the standard Black Shark 3 units are better than add-on touch BOE panels on the Black Shark 3 Pro.

Samsung Display is the only display manufacturer to have mastered OCTA tech. BOE is yet to get a better yield in this tech and hence it continues to use the old tried and tested add-on touch solution.

With the extension, there should be enough units for the first sale. The press statement adds that all those who pre-ordered the phone will still get their device at the expected time.

While the Pro variant is definitely the most advanced gaming phone out there this year, the vanilla version has a few rivals. Comparing it with the most interesting gaming phone is the goal of this specs comparison. If you think about gaming phones, the first name coming to your mind will probably be Asus ROG Phone II. Alongside the Black Shark 3 series, another gaming phone launched this year is iQOO 3 5G. Here is a specs comparison between Black Shark 3, Asus ROG Phone 2 and iQOO 3 5G.

Design

Gaming phones usually come with an aggressive gaming-centric design. Well, that is not the case of the iQOO 3 5G. It has a more sober design with a higher screen-to-body ratio thanks to its waterdrop notch, and it is the perfect candidate for people needing a normal device with gaming-centric features and hardware. With their RGB lights and aggressive looks, Asus ROG Phone II and Black Shark 3 both come with a gaming-centric design. They carry the support to interesting external accessories (especially the ROG Phone II) and the Black Shark 3 even comes with physical shoulder buttons.

Display

On the display side, Asus ROG Phone II takes the gold medal, at least for gamers. It sports a higher DCI-P3 coverage and the highest refresh rate with 120 Hz. But you should not underestimate the display of the Black Shark 3, which we consider just slightly inferior. The Black Shark 3 has a lower 90 Hz refresh rate, but a higher touch sampling rate and the support of HDR10+ technology for great image quality. Unfortunately, iQOO 3 5G comes with a standard refresh rate and a lower (but still high) touch sampling rate of 180 Hz. It is still a great display for gaming, but Asus ROG Phone II and Black Shark 3 are more suitable.

Hardware/Software

Given that they are fueled by the more powerful Snapdragon 865 SoC, Black Shark 3 and iQOO 3 5G are stronger devices than ROG Phone II when it comes to performance. The iQOO 3 5G is also one of the first smartphones packing UFS 3.1 internal storage. Both Black Shark 3 and iQOO 3 5G support the 5G connectivity (note that only the highest-end memory configuration of the iQOO 3 does), while Asus ROG Phone II does not. But the ROG Phone II is the only to offer up to 1 TB of native storage, it is important to note since none of these devices feature expandable internal storage. All feature Wi-Fi 6 support, but only the iQOO 3 5G supports Bluetooth 5.1.

Camera

The presence of a great quad camera setup including a telephoto sensor and a good 48 MP main sensor makes iQOO 3 the most interesting camera phone, but Black Shark 3 should still provide a good photo quality with its 64 MP triple camera. We can not tell you which one clicks the best photos since they are yet to be available to purchase, but on the paper, ROG Phone II looks less suitable for photos.

Battery

Asus ROG Phone II wins the battery life comparison thanks to a way bigger 6000 mAh battery, followed by the Black Shark 3 packing a 4720 mAh battery. Black Shark 3 has the fastest charging technology with a power of 65W and it supports magnetic charging (pins on the back), so that you can charge it while playing without having a cable between your fingers. Asus ROG Phone II supports 30W fast charging and reverse charging, while iQOO 3 5G supports a faster 55W charging technology.

Price

iQOO 3 5G starts at €463/$515 in China, Black Shark 3 ranges from €450/$502 to €517/$575, and ROG Phone II starts from €457/$509. There is not a definitive winner of this comparison. If you are looking for a device with the widest range of external accessories, the best display for gaming and the biggest battery, Asus ROG Phone II is a better option. But BS3 and iQOO 3 5G are definitely more interesting for average users since they offer higher performance, 5G, and petty nice cameras. Which one would you pick?

Traditionally, the company used to release a gaming device at the start of the year and then an updated version in the second half of the year. However, today, the company disrupted its release cycle by announcing a regular version as well as a Pro version in its Black Shark gaming lineup. So China gets two new Black Shark gaming phones: the Black Shark 3 and the Black Shark 3 Pro.

Let’s take a close look at both these devices.

Black Shark 3 Pro Design

Both the new models continue with the brand’s X themed design, with sharp geometrical curves and grooves on the back. The biggest change in the Black Shark 3 lineup is the redesigned triangle camera housing. The company continues to opt for a symmetrical design philosophy, so you get a matching triangle-shaped design at the bottom half of the back as well.

There are several important upgrades in the Black Shark 3 lineup’s design. First up, you have a new Tencent Games and 5G logos on the bottom half of the two devices. The company has partnered with Tencent games to optimize gameplay on both these devices. So the Black Shark 3 and 3 Pro models feature Tencent’s SolarCore Gaming Acceleration Engine in addition to Black Shark’s own Gaming Engine.

There are three cameras at the back of the device, and in case you are wondering, the Black Shark 3 lineup gets rid of a telephoto sensor in favor of an ultra-wide-angle sensor. The third sensor is a dedicated depth of field shooter. Both the models get a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack and feature special magnetic pins (capable of 18W charging).

The biggest difference between the two models in terms of design is the presence of two tactile physical buttons on the right side of the Pro variant which the standard variant lacks.

Black Shark 3 Pro Specs

The display gets a massive upgrade on both the models. Instead of the 6.39-inch AMOLED screen on the Black Shark 2 Pro, the new Black Shark 3 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with the industry’s first 270Hz touch sampling rate. This combined with a 24ms touch response time and a 28ms multi-finger touch response time ensures that you face minimal touch lags during gameplay. The touch panel refreshes at 90Hz, ensuring smooth scrolling and animations.

The Black Shark 3 Pro model takes things to another level. It comes with a tablet-sized 7.1-inch AMOLED panel with a Quad HD+ 3120 x 1440p resolution display. It’s nearly the size of Mate 20 X’s massive screen but with a higher resolution! Clearly, the Black Shark 3 Pro has one of the best displays for mobile gaming.

As for the other specs, both the models feature the new Snapdragon 865 flagship processor with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Sadly, iQOO seems to be the only brand that has updated its top-end lineup to UFS 3.1. The rest of the brands, including Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Pro 5G continues to feature UFS 3.0 standard as last year.

Both the models feature 5G and Wi-Fi 6 and there’s a special mode that can combine both these connections to increase bandwidth.

Black Shark 3 Pro Gaming Features

As mentioned above, the Black Shark 3 Pro features two mechanical gaming buttons on its right side. Black Shark explains that each of these buttons is 21mm long and features a 1.5mm keystroke. They are good for over 1 million clicks. Unfortunately, the standard variant skips on these buttons. The Pro variant also gets horizontal linear motors for better tactile feedback during gameplay.

The rest of the gaming-centric features are common to both the models. This includes a special liquid “Sandwich Cooling system”. Black Shark explained at the event that its new models employ a dual-battery design with a 116mm motherboard in between. The company has placed heating components like the CPU and 5G modems as far apart as possible. In fact, the company claims that the distance between the two units on the motherboard is nearly 39mm.

Blsck Shark 3 cooling

In addition to this, the Black Shark 3 models feature two 100mm liquid cooling units placed on the two sides of the motherboard. This creates a sandwich design and now you know how this cooling design gets its name. Further, there’s graphite coating on the two cooling units as well. If this wasn’t enough, Black Shark is also selling a clip-on ice-cooling external fan for the device, similar to what we saw for the Mi 10 series.

There’s also a special voice control feature that allows you to initiate actions during gameplay. For example, if you call out “grenade” while playing a game like Arena of Valor, the player will throw out grenades. We are not sure of how exactly this works but we expect limited games to support this.

Black Shark 3 Pro Cameras

Cameras were never the selling point of gaming smartphones but the new Black Shark 3 lineup adds a couple of upgrades in this department. Note that the setup is identical on both the models.

The primary camera gets upgraded from 48MP to 64MP. The two models ditch the telephoto shooter from the Black Shark 2 Pro and add two sensors: A 120-degree ultra-wide-angle shooter of 13MP and a dedicated 5MP depth of field sensor.

Black Shark 3 Pro Battery

The Black Shark 3 features a 4720mAh battery with 65W fast charging while the Pro version increases the battery size to 5000mAh with the same fast charging tech. Incredibly, despite featuring a larger battery, both models take the same time to charge to 100%. So you can charge the two models up to 100% in just 38 minutes!

Ahead of the launch, an executive of the company has shared a spec sheet that highlights the differences with respect to the display between the standard and the pro model. So, of course, there will be other differences.

The Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro are not small devices. The former’s display measures 6.67-inches in size while the latter has a whopping 7.1-inch screen. Both are AMOLED panels with a 90Hz refresh rate but the standard has a 2400 x 1080 resolution while the Black Shark 3 Pro’s resolution is 3120 x 1440. That is all for the differences.

The spec sheet reveals both phones have a JNCD (Just Noticeable Color Difference of 0.55 just like that of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The displays of the two phones also have a Delta E value less than 1, support DC Dimming, have an independent display chip, have MEMC 2.0, HDR10+, and TruView Color Temperature Adjustment.

It is clear to see that Black Shark is not holding back with respect to the display of its upcoming flagships. More manufacturers are paying attention to the quality of the display in their flagships and gaming phones are not left out.

[envira-gallery id=”308027″]

Black Shark has also revealed some other details of the phones. They will ship with a new version of Joy UI with special gaming features and a Dark Mode. They will also feature a new cooling system called Sandwich liquid-cooled system (cooling pipes on both sides of the motherboard). The two phones will also feature shoulder buttons that pop-up from the sides and can retract back when no longer needed. Black Shark also revealed today in a promotional video that the phones will support voice control for games, allowing you to control your character by barking commands at the device.

Earlier today (28th February 2020), it was officially revealed that the Black Shark 3 series will support physical gaming buttons. In other words, the smartphone will arrive with twin tactile buttons, which will provide zero latency and responsive feedback on inputs. The zero latency is crucial during fast pace multiplayer games where a split second decision matters. So, the support for gaming buttons on a gaming smartphone will be a well received inclusion.

The news regarding the gaming buttons’ support for the Black Shark 3 was officially shared online through a couple of image posters. As seen in the images, the gaming smartphone is equipped with two side buttons that aim to greatly improve gaming related controls on a smartphone. This will vastly improve the gameplay experience, especially with shooters in mind like PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds).

The same models recently surfaced on Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmarking platforms. Hence, rumors started swirling that there could be two devices in the Black Shark 3 series. Finally, an official confirmation came from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun today. He revealed that the company will be announcing Black Shark 3 as well as a Pro model.

While there is no official confirmation yet, it is believed that the KLE-A0 phone is the Black Shark 3 and MBU-A0 is the Black Shark 3 Pro model. The latter was seen on the AnTuTu benchmarks with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of massive storage.

The Black Shark 3 series is all set to go official on March 3. Jun said that the Black Shark 3 Pro will be arriving with a massive battery of 5,000mAh capacity whereas the Black Shark 3 will be equipped with a 4,270mAh battery. Both models will arrive with support for 65W fast charging technology. On the Black Shark 3 handset, the 65W fast charging will allow it to gain 2,780mAh capacity in just 15 minutes. The batteries on both phones will be a two-cell construction.

As confirmed earlier today, apart from the regular way of charging the phone through USB-C, the Black Shark 3 series will feature a special magnetic connector on the rear which will let the user charge the handset while playing games. The Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro are both expected to arrive with 3.5mm audio jack.

The Black Shark 3 duo will be coming with 120Hz refresh rate screens that will deliver quad HD+ resolution along with 270Hz touch sampling rate. The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform will be present under the hood of both smartphones. At present, it is unclear what sort of benefits the Pro model will be arriving with. With few more days remaining for the launch event, the Chinese firm is expected to reveal more details on the Black Shark 3 series.

Ahead of the March 3 launch, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun released a promo video of the phone to reveal a new feature. The video reveals that the phone will be arriving with a new magnetic charging connector.

This reminds us of Vivo APEX 2019 concept phone that was introduced last year sported a port-less design and a similar magnetic port for charging.

The machine translated text of Jun’s Weibo post reads that the Black Shark 3 has a USB-C port for charging. Also, he states the phone is equipped with an earphone slot. The Black Shark 2 and Black Shark 2 Pro phones from last year lack support for 3.5mm audio jack. While Jun states the presence of an earphone slot on the device, the placement of the port cannot be seen in the above show promo video. The Tencent Games branding is imprinted towards the bottom of the device.

The predecessor Black Shark 2 series phones came with dual rear cameras. However, a leaked shot of the alleged Black Shark 3 phone has surfaced on Weibo shows that it will be sporting a triple rear cameras with LED flash inside an inverted triangle-shaped module.

The phone that has been benchmarked on AnTuTu has a refresh rate of 90Hz. However, the handset is said to offer 120Hz refresh rate.

In the CPU, GPU, memory and UX test of AnTuTu, the phone scored 181,539, 221,273, 122,234 and 87,605, respectively. The handset reached an average benchmarking score of 612,651 on AnTuTu. The handset will carry support for 65W fast charging.

The Black Shark 3 will have a 4720mAh battery capacity and from the poster, it shows the battery is split into two just like that of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. It was previously reported that it has a 5000mAh battery but the poster shows that is not the case.

The phone will also have support for 65W fast wired charging just like the upcoming OPPO Find X2 and the Realme X50 Pro 5G that was announced earlier this week. The Weibo post revealed that it will take just 15 minutes to charge one of the batteries (2780mAh) to full.

Other known features of the phone are a 120Hz refresh rate, LPDDR5 RAM, Snapdragon 865 processor, UFS 3.0 storage, and Dual-mode 5G.

The phone will be unveiled in China on March 3.

The phone manufacturer is known for its gaming smartphones, the first of which was announced in 2018. There have been three other models after the first Black Shark phone with different specs and design and a new one is scheduled to join the lineup soon. However, when that new model launches, it will be the first to wear the company’s redesigned logo which was unveiled yesterday.

The new logo is a new take on the company’s familiar “S” logo which is actually made up of two sharks swimming. The new logo is simpler but looks much better when compared to the old one. It also ditches the neon green color for a much cooler shade of green.

A poster shared by Xiaomi’s Lei Jun on Weibo earlier today revealed the gaming smartphone will be launched on March 3. Black Shark’s own CEO also shared the poster on his timeline.

The Black Shark 3 will bring new features including a 5000mAh battery capacity that has more than 800 charge cycles, support for 65W fast charging (empty to full in 38 minutes), dual-mode 5G, and a 120Hz 2K display. The phone will also have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.0 flash storage.

At the moment, finer details regarding the device are still unknown but certain regarding its battery has been revealed.

According to Luo Shao, the CEO of Black Shark, the company is looking to strike a balance between the battery capacity and charging power of the smartphone. In other words, a careful process is being undertaken to keep the charging and discharging rate in mind. Since the Black Shark 3 will feature 5G network, the strain on the battery life will also be noticeable. Thus, the company is planning on improving both battery capacity and charging rates while specifically designing a heat dissipation design for the smartphone

Furthermore, the senior executive started a vote on “which combination with charging rates, battery capacity and discharging rates do users prefer in a 5G gaming smartphone.” He offered four different configurations, that are:

65W + 5000mAh, 100% charge in 38 minutes, cycle life> 800.

55W + 4500mAh, 100% charge in 40 minutes, cycle life> 600

65W + 4000mAh, 100% charge in 30 minutes, cycle life> 600

55W + 4440mAh, 100% charge in 36 minutes, cycle life> 600

Editor’s Pick: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip foldable smartphone launched in India for ₹1,09,999 ($1,534)

Similarly, the Chief architect of Black Shark went on to add that 5G gaming smartphones require more complex and dedicated power systems over those of other flagships. It is true to some degree considering the power draw and heats the newer and faster bandwidth is capable of causing. The chief event even heavily implied to vote for the 65W + 5,000mAh battery variant, which all but confirms the configuration Black Shark will offer.

A company generally never offers options with numbers or specs that are greater than what will eventually be offered, so it’s safe to expect that the Black Shark 3 will sport a 5,000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. Additionally, other leaks and reports have revealed that the gaming smartphone will support SA and NSA dual mode 5G as well. The display is expected to feature 2K resolution and offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Black Shark 3 will likely feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with the X55 5G modem. For memory, an LPDDR5 flash chip alongside UFS 3.0 is expected as well. Going by the popular flagship features, Wi-Fi 6 may also be included along with NFC. Notably, due to the ongoing epidemic caused by the Coronavirus outbreak, the smartphone will be launched during an online live streaming event.

Even the Black Shark 3 gaming phone is expected to go official soon after the unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro smartphones. It is speculated that Xiaomi may hold the launch event of the Mi 10 series before Samsung unveils the Galaxy S20 series through a global unveil event on Feb. 11. With the current issue of Coronavirus becoming even more serious, companies in China are considering holding online-only launch event for their products that are scheduled to go this month. Black Shark CEO Lou Yuzhou has hinted that the Black Shark 3 may go official through an online launch event. Also, a popular tipster from China has claimed that the Mi 10 series and Black Shark 3 series will be made official online.

Yuzhou claims that it is no longer suitable to hold a traditional press conference where people can gather offline due to the server epidemic situation caused due to Coronavirus outbreak in China. Instead of an offline event, he has hinted on hosting a high-quality online press event. However, the exact launch date for the Black Shark 3 is yet to be confirmed.

On the other side, a leakster known for his good track record claims that launch event for the Xiaomi Mi 10 series and Black Shark 3 series will be held online. This can allow the company to save on the money that goes into renting a place for an offline event. Hopefully, Xiaomi will confirm on a launch date for the Mi 10 series later this week.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 series that includes the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G could be the first phones to arrive with Snapdragon 865 mobile platform onboard.
The Black Shark 3 5G will be a gaming-centric device fueled by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. It is also rumored to be equipped with 16 GB of RAM.
Making this announcement, the company has said that it aims to provide users with a more diverse gaming experience. We expect to see this partnership getting materialised with the upcoming Black Shark 3 smartphone getting launched later this year.

Earlier, Tencent Games had partnered with ASUS for the company’s second-generation gaming smartphone — Asus ROG Phone 2. Under this partnership, the company had also launched Tencent customized Elite version of the smartphone at a cheaper rate in China.

While the company has not yet revealed anything about the upcoming gaming smartphone, leak shows that the Black Shark 3 will come with 2K resolution display and will be offering 120Hz refresh rate. Earlier, it was said that the phone will come powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.

EDITOR’S PICK: In management reshuffle, Samsung appoints president Roh Tae-moon as its new mobile chief

Previous reports indicate that the phone could come equipped with 16GB of RAM. The smartphone has been certified for radio transmission under model number KLE-A0. It shows that the device supports dual mode 5G connectivity.

If the reports are true, then the Black Shark 3 gaming smartphone will be the first to come with 16GB of RAM. So far, the highest memory configuration that any smartphone offers stands at 12GB.

The upcoming gaming phone from the company will be the successor to Black Shark 2 Pro which was announced back in July last year. It features a 6.39-inch FHD+ screen, a Snapdragon 855+ processor, and packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charge. We don’t expect anything lesser from the Black Shark 3 and a recent leak says it will have a bigger 4700mh battery.

As scheduled, the new variant is available for purchase from today in the home market with a pricing of 2,699 Yuan (~$391). Since its launch in July, the phone was selling in three 12 GB RAM variants. However, none of the them can be seen in the official listing of the Black Shark 2 Pro at Xiaomi’s online store in China. Hence, it appears that the company may have axed all the 12 GB RAM editions of the gaming phone. This is could be a strategic move to make way for the upcoming Black Shark 3.

The Black Shark 2 Pro 8 GB RAM variant comes with an internal storage. It can be availed only in Electric Black color edition and it priced at 2,699 Yuan (~$391).

At launch, the Black Shark 2 Pro was introduced in two models such as 12 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These models were priced at 2,999 Yuan (~$434) and 3,499 Yuan (~$507), respectively. In September, the company had added a new variant featuring 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage with a price tag of 3,999 Yuan (~$579).

Xiaomi could be launching the upcoming Black Shark 3 phone with a pricing around of 3,000 Yuan. This could be reason the way none of the 12 GB RAM models are now available for purchase in China.

Previous reports indicate that the phone could come equipped with 16GB of RAM.
If the reports are true, then the Black Shark 3 gaming smartphone will be the first to come with 16GB of RAM. So far, the highest memory configuration that any smartphone offers stands at 12GB.

The upcoming phone will be the successor to Black Shark 2 Pro which was announced back in July last year. This phone is believed to be the Black Shark 3, and now some of its specifications have leaked.

The Black Shark 3 will come with a Snapdragon 865 processor and is expected to have a high refresh rate according to Digital Chat Station. He also added that the phone should support 30W fast charge but then made a separate post that the manufacturer is testing an even faster-charging technology which means it may ditch the 30W Flash Charge.

The Chinese leaker also said the phone should pack a battery capacity of about 4700mAh.

The Black Shark 2 Pro was the last phone from the manufacturer and it was announced back in July. It has a 6.39-inch FHD+ screen, a Snapdragon 855+ processor, and packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charge. With the successor having 5G support, it makes sense that it is getting a battery boost and also faster charging.

There is no information on the screen size, design, and type for the Black Shark 3 neither are there any details about its camera specs. However, we hope it keeps the stereo speakers since it most likely won’t have an audio jack like its predecessor.

A phone with model number SHARK KLE-AO was certified in China last month and is believed to be the Black Shark 3. The certificate didn’t reveal much but states that the phone has support for 5G.
