Black Shark 4 series debuted in the first half of 2021. Almost four months later, the brand is reported to launch yet another smartphone. This piece of information comes from Digital Chat Station, a reliable tipster from China.

According to the leaker, the upcoming Black Shark handset will arrive with model number KTUS-A0. The device is certified with the name ‘Black Shark 5’. This clearly suggests that it will be the direct successor of Black Shark 4.

As per the tipster, this phone could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC. He also suggests that it may have support for 100W fast charging (probably 120W like its predecessors). Unfortunately, he does not mention anything else other than these two parameters.

Going by the two features revealed by Digital Chat Station, the forthcoming Black Shark 5 will be a minor upgrade over the Black Shark 4 series released a few months back. Hence, it should retain most of the key features.

For those unaware, the Black Shark 4 series features a 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate. The main highlight of these phones is their magnetic mechanical shoulder buttons, which are also used by Redmi K40 Gaming Edition (aka POCO F3 GT).

Other features include an LPDDR5 RAM module, UFS 3.1 storage, Z-axis linear vibration motor, liquid cooling system, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual stereo speakers, dual USB Type-C ports, 4,500mAh battery, and JOYUI 12.5 based on Android 11.
