<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amazfit/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Amazfit</a> is testing a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-pressure/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">blood pressure</a> measurement tool for the Balance smartwatch! This exciting feature, spotted by users in China, Malaysia, and Brazil, brings blood pressure monitoring to your wrist.</p>

<h2>Amazfit Testing Blood Pressure Measurement Tool on Balance Smartwatch</h2>

<p>While not yet officially announced, the feature seems to be in a limited testing phase. A YouTube video by user @petersoncpxb showcases how it works. Just like with other health metrics on the watch, there&#8217;s a dedicated app for blood pressure. Opening the app displays your latest reading with date and time.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe loading="lazy" title="Blood pressure on Amazfit Balance" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hVoxHqZXZUc?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p>Taking a measurement involves tightening the watch band and acknowledging a disclaimer about the watch not being a certified medical device. The process itself takes 30 seconds and requires you to place your arm flat on a table while remaining still. Once finished, the watch displays your systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings, along with your current heart rate. The app also appears to store historical data.</p>

<p>Similar to Samsung&#8217;s Galaxy Watch, reports suggest the Amazfit tool might require initial calibration with a traditional blood pressure cuff, with regular sensor recalibration recommended for continued accuracy.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/amazfit/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Amazfit</a> unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/12/amazfit-balance-smartwatch-ai-based-health-features-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Balance smartwatch</a> last year in September with extensive health and fitness features powered by AI through Zepp Aura and Zepp Coach. The smartwatch boasts a 1.5-inch AMOLED display, water resistance up to 50m, and a BioTracker for sleep monitoring. It offers meditation and relaxation soundscapes and AI sleep coaching as a paid subscription service. Additionally, it can measure various body metrics and has a battery life of up to 14 days.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="750" height="563" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance.webp?x10805" alt="Amazfit Balance smartwatch" class="wp-image-565850" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance.webp 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance-300x225.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance-696x522.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance-560x420.webp 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance-80x60.webp 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Amazfit-Balance-265x198.webp 265w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></figure></div>

<p>The exact date for a wider release of this feature to all Amazfit Balance smartwatches remains unknown. This news is exciting as it suggests Amazfit is pushing the boundaries of smartwatch capabilities, potentially offering a convenient way to monitor blood pressure for users in those select regions. We&#8217;ll be keeping an eye on further developments and any official announcements from Amazfit regarding a wider rollout.</p>

<p>In addition to the blood pressure feature being tested, Amazfit recently introduced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/03/amazfit-launches-body-composition-mat-that-works-in-conjunction-with-smartwatch-for-enhanced-health-tracking/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Body Composition Analyzer Mat</a>. This companion product to the Balance smartwatch uses bioelectrical impedance analysis to give you a more complete picture of your health by focusing on lower body composition metrics.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple</a> are stepping up their game in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wearable/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">wearable</a> technology, focusing on developing non-invasive methods for monitoring vital health metrics like blood glucose levels and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-pressure/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">blood pressure</a>. This new wave of competition is expected to bring significant advancements in health monitoring devices within the next five years.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="427" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1024x427.jpeg?x10805" alt="Samsung Galaxy Watch 5" class="wp-image-600043" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1024x427.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-300x125.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-768x320.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-696x290.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1068x445.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1008x420.jpeg 1008w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5.jpeg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h2>Samsung and Apple&#8217;s Push for Non-Invasive Monitoring Solutions</h2>

<p>Apple has also been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/15/apple-appoints-tim-millet-blood-sugar-monitor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">exploring non-invasive blood glucose monitoring</a> techniques for years. These methods aim to eliminate the need for skin piercing and blood extraction, making the process much easier for patients.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Huawei has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/22/huawei-watch-4-blood-sugar-diabetes/">already released a watch last year</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-watch-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei Watch 4</a>, featuring a non-invasive glucose monitoring capability. This function assesses the risk of high blood sugar by measuring ten health metrics, but it does not directly read blood glucose levels. However, there are uncertainties about the accuracy and functionality of Huawei&#8217;s innovation in this area.</p>

<p>Hon Pak, Samsung Mobile&#8217;s Head of Digital Health, highlighted in a Bloomberg interview the importance of non-invasive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-glucose-monitoring/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">blood glucose monitoring</a> for diabetes patients. He emphasized that wearable devices capable of continuously measuring blood pressure and blood glucose will revolutionize health management. Pak noted that these technologies would be available in some form in the next five years, though no specific timeline was given.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-1024x1024.jpeg?x10805" alt="Samsung Galaxy Watch 5" class="wp-image-600044" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-1024x1024.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-300x300.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-150x150.jpeg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-768x768.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-696x696.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-1068x1068.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1-420x420.jpeg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-1.jpeg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy Watch 5</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Samsung&#8217;s Galaxy Watch already includes blood pressure measurement features, but it requires frequent calibration and doesn&#8217;t provide continuous monitoring. The spokesperson also talked about Samsung’s upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/18/samsung-galaxy-ring-officially-teased-after-galaxy-s24-series-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Ring</a>, a wearable device focusing on tracking activity and sleep quality. Over time, it will incorporate more health monitoring features.</p>

<p>This ring is designed for comfort, allowing continuous wear for accurate health data tracking. Its advantage over <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartwatch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">smartwatches</a> lies in its continuous wearability, as smartwatches often need to be removed for charging, interrupting constant health monitoring.</p>

<p>Moreover, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> plans to enhance smart headphones to measure body temperature and heart rate. The company&#8217;s vice president explained that the ear is an ideal location for such measurements due to its proximity to the heart. When combined with data from smartwatches, these readings from headphones could offer a more comprehensive view of a user&#8217;s health.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> has teased its first-ever smartwatch for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-pressure-monitoring/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">blood pressure monitoring</a>. The smartwatch called “Xiaomi Wrist ECG Blood Pressure Recorder” is set to be officially launched on October 26th alongside <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/23/xiaomi-14-series-launch-date-october-26/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 14</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/23/hyperos-centre-your-universe-october-26/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hyper OS</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/23/xiaomi-watch-s3-launch-date/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi Watch S3</a>.</p>

<h2>The Smartwatch will Feature China&#8217;s Class II Medical Device Certification</h2>

<p>According to the teased image, this <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartwatch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">smartwatch</a> will feature a round dial with a sleek, non-bulky design and two physical buttons on the right side. The strap seems sturdy and is expected to include inflation and pressure functions to assist in blood pressure measurements. Alongside medical grade features the watch will also incorporate top-tier smart features.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="800" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Blood Pressure Smartwatch" class="wp-image-577548" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/watch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">watch</a> will feature a user-friendly interface that prominently displays blood pressure readings, distinguishing between systolic and diastolic pressures. These readings come with color-coded risk level indicators.</p>

<p>The smartwatch is expected to be highly portable, enabling users to check their <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-pressure/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">blood pressure</a> anywhere, making it especially useful for older individuals managing hypertension. Additionally, it will offer automatic measurement settings for added convenience. The watch has received China&#8217;s Class II Medical Device certification.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="690" height="920" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch-1.webp?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Blood Pressure Smartwatch" class="wp-image-577553" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch-1.webp 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch-1-225x300.webp 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Xiaomi-Blood-Pressure-Smartwatch-1-315x420.webp 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></figure></div>

<p>Additional details from the Beijing Municipal Drug Administration indicate that the Xiaomi Wrist ECG Blood Pressure Recorder package will include the watch, strap, airbag, a charging base, and mobile app software.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s important to note that this product is designed for adult use and collects ECG data from the wrist. It utilizes the oscilloscope method to measure blood pressure and pulse, providing values intended for clinical reference. The device is manufactured by Longqi Electronics (Huizhou) Co., Ltd.</p>

<p>According to an <a href="https://news.mydrivers.com/1/788/788084.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>ITHome</em> </a>report, the Chinese tech giant&#8217;s technology making it on the list officially signifies the company&#8217;s entry into the field of medical equipments. As per the data from the State Food and Drug Administration, the Huawei smartwatch&#8217;s ECG sensor belongs in the second category of medical equipment, with its registration certificate number &#8220;20202071705.&#8221;</p>
<p>Back in May 2021, He Gang, the president of Huawei’s consumer business smartphone product line, stated that the company&#8217;s first smartwatch that supports blood pressure tracking has passed medical device registration tests. Furthermore, the company&#8217;s new technology will also start registered clinical trials with professional medical institutions within the next six months. According to the Guangdong Food and Drug Administration, the brand has three other medical devices that have entered the priority approval process.</p>

<p>This includes the wrist ECG blood pressure tracker (MLY-B10, MLY-B11), ECG analysis system (ECG-1), and heart rate disturbance analysis system (PPG-1). While the current generation of smart wearables include a number of health monitoring systems, these are not used for medical diagnoses. Additionally, only a few brands have obtained the second class certificate for medical equipments, namely Huawei, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huami/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huami</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oppo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Oppo</a>.</p>

<p style="text-align: left">The company is reportedly working on new features that would be introduced to consumers in the near future. Some of the features include ECG and blood pressure monitoring, improvements in AI deep learning, and possible Spotify integration.</p>
<p>This was disclosed in an interview by Zepp Health COO Mike Yeung (<a href="https://www.wareable.com/smartwatches/amazfit-to-launch-ecg-and-blood-pressure-as-zepp-health-gets-serious-8345" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">via</a>). Zepp is a separate brand under Huami just like the Amazfit brand. The COO hint Huami was currently engaging with the US FDA to get its algorithm certified and also working on areas such as ECG and blood pressure monitoring. He also stated that the company was already in partnership with Alivecor in the US.</p>
<p>Alivcor is a renowned EKG sensor manufacturer and is acclaimed as the first company to get an ECG accessory for the Apple Watch approved by the FDA.</p>
<p>“Everybody heard about how Apple Watch got FDA approval, but to be frank, almost 18 months before that, we actually had our Health Band certified as a medical device by the China FDA so it can measure ECG accurately as a medical device,” Yeung added.</p>
<p>Huami isn&#8217;t just trying to get onboard the ECG-packing smartwatch train, instead it is working on a new innovation &#8211; cuffless blood pressure monitoring and glucose tracking. “Our biggest achievement is firstly our ECG, and secondly, sleep research. We’re going to continue to refine those further, and then the upcoming is in blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring. We are also quite optimistic now, based on current progress, about glucose monitoring. It’s been a difficult nut to crack, but we are now more optimistic than ever that we can do it,” Yeung disclosed.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-360263" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured.jpg?x10805" alt="Amazfit GTS 2e All Colors Featured" width="1262" height="841" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured.jpg 1262w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Amazfit-GTS-2e-All-Colors-Featured-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1262px) 100vw, 1262px" /></a></p>
<p>In order for its product to appeal to a wider audience in the west, the company is partnering with some prominent brands suchas Spotify, according to Mr Yeung. “We’re with ecosystem partners in some instances, such as Spotify. Music playing and payment, for example, are things we are engaging with all the local partners to beef up. Over half of our products are sold overseas, outside of China. But mostly in Europe and Southeast Asia. We do have a very ambitious plan for North America’s expansion. Actually, we planned to expand very aggressively in North America last year, but due to COVID, we suspended that to resume,” he added.</p>
<p>We can&#8217;t say if these new features will be on the upcoming products but we won&#8217;t wait for too long to find out.</p>

In line with that, the tech giant has been granted a new patent related to a major blood pressure monitoring system.</p>
<p>Now, a <a href="https://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2020/12/apple-reveals-an-all-new-wearable-blood-pressure-device-with-an-inflatable-cuff-and-controller-interface.html">new patent</a> application from Apple, published by the US Patent &amp; Trademark Office reveals a major shift in the company&#8217;s blood pressure system. It includes an all-new wearable device, which is separate from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch">Apple Watch</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-359641 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/apple-blood-pressure-device.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple Blood Pressure Device" width="889" height="452" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/apple-blood-pressure-device.jpg 889w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/apple-blood-pressure-device-300x153.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/apple-blood-pressure-device-768x390.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/apple-blood-pressure-device-696x354.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/apple-blood-pressure-device-826x420.jpg 826w" sizes="(max-width: 889px) 100vw, 889px" /></p>
<p>It seems that instead of a watch interface, the cuff comes with a control unit and the company confirms that the control unit can offer a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/user-interface">user interface</a>, including Watch-related functionalities. The product is aimed at estimating the blood pressure value of a patient.</p>
<p>The method covered in this patent includes receiving feature vector data corresponding to a pressure variation of the blood pressure cuff. The data is derived from one or more physiological signals of the patient measured over the pressure variation of the blood pressure cuff.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK:</span> </strong><a title="US FCC to take action against Huawei and China Telecom over Security concerns" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/11/us-fcc-against-huawei-china-telecom-security-risks/" rel="bookmark"><strong>United State&#8217;s FCC to take action against Huawei and China Telecom over Security concerns</strong></a></p>
<p>A first blood pressure value is estimated using the first algorithm with feature vector data as input data. It is then configured to be an estimate of one of the systolic blood pressure of the patient, the diastolic <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/blood-pressure">blood pressure</a> of the patient, and the mean arterial blood pressure of the patient.</p>
<p>It is noted that the algorithm is configured to estimate the first blood pressure value of the patient to account for differences between changes in the shape, and/or timing of the one or more physiological signals of the patient measured over the pressure variation of the blood pressure cuff.</p>

Yesterday, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> announced that its Galaxy Watch series will now be able to measure blood pressure. However, users will actually need a sphygmomanometer to calibrate the watch.</p>
<p>The nearly minute-long video released by the official Samsung Newsroom YouTube channel walks users through the process. First, you have to ensure that your watch is tightly fitted to your non-dominant wrist. Then wear the cuff of the blood pressure monitor on the arm of your other hand. Just as you begin measuring with the monitor, your watch also begins to measure your blood pressure automatically.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1WGTftm_IEU?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>When the watch is done measuring, you enter the reading from the monitor on your phone. You will be required to take two more measurements before calibration is completed after which you will then be able to use your watch to measure your blood pressure with the watch anytime. The press release advises users to calibrate their watch every four weeks to ensure accuracy.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone wp-image-116127" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/global/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Samsung-Health-Monitor_main.gif" alt="" width="1000" height="563" /></p>
<p>With the health app on your phone, you will be able to monitor your different blood pressure readings over a period of time as recorded measurements will be synced to the device.</p>
<p>Samsung said the Health Monitor app will be available on the Galaxy Watch Active2 in Q3 2020 and then roll out to upcoming models. So if you own the original Watch Active, you will not be able to make use of this feature.</p>

The smartwatch will be called UMIDIGI UFit and isn&#8217;t just a smartwatch but a fitness and health tracker. The product will be launched on March 16.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-309788" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit.jpg?x10805" alt="UMIDIGI UFit" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/UFit-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></a></p>
<p>In the face of the Coronavirus outbreak, the focus on health and fitness has increased. The <span style="font-weight: 400">blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) level is a vital indicator of a person’s health. This tracking the SpO2 level is also a new wearable tech metric getting adopted by more manufacturers. It might sound complicated but SpO2 can reveal conditions. For example, coronavirus and sleep apnea may cause low blood oxygen saturation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The SpO2 monitor is already in some big-name wearables: Fitbit and Garmin already have an SpO2 sensor on most of their devices, and Huawei has jumped in too. UMIDIGI UFit is expected to also have a SpO2 sensor but it would be much more affordable, in line with UMIDIGI’s market strategy.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-309787" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1000" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Giveaway-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">There’s still a lot we don’t know about the device, but there are a few things we can speculate from the teaser image. Besides the SpO2 monitoring function, it apparently has a curved screen and 2.5D glass. And there’s a side button to control the watch. W</span><span style="font-weight: 400">e won’t have to wait long to learn more about the smartwatch since it goes official on March 16.</span></p>
<p>UMIDIGI is also running a giveaway with five<span style="font-weight: 400"> units of the UMIDIGI F2 smartphone and fifteen units of the UFit up for takes. You can join the giveaway on their </span><a href="http://bit.ly/giveawayUFit-F2"><span style="font-weight: 400">official website</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. </span><span style="font-weight: 400">You can also pre-order the UFit on <a href="http://ali.pub/4jtyd0" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">AliExpress.</a></span></p>
