Xiaomi is preparing to launch its first Bluetooth item tracker, the Xiaomi Tag, with retail listings already appearing across European markets before official confirmation.

As reported by WinFuture, the Xiaomi Tag has surfaced on Xiaomi’s UK and France online stores and through third-party retailers. French pricing stands at €17.99 per unit, though some sellers offer it below €15. A four-pack costs €59.99, reducing the per-unit price to approximately €15.

The tracker measures 7.2mm thick and operates on a replaceable CR2032 battery rated for one year of use. Its plastic housing will launch in white only, according to current listings.

The Xiaomi Tag supports Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC connectivity, integrating with both Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub. This dual-platform compatibility allows iOS and Android users to track tagged items through their respective ecosystems.

Current specifications notably exclude UltraWideBand technology, despite earlier evidence suggesting UWB support in HyperOS software code. This omission has prompted speculation about a potential premium variant featuring UWB for enhanced precision tracking.

Xiaomi has not announced a launch date, though the Tag could arrive alongside new hardware ahead of MWC 2026 in early March.

The tracker’s compatibility with established networks from Apple and Google removes barriers to adoption, allowing users to leverage existing infrastructure rather than relying on a proprietary Xiaomi network.

Apple unveiled its own object tracker AirTag with features like UWB(Ultra Wide Band) to take on Samsung’s counterpart. Now, it looks like the Chinese giant OPPO will join the party soon as real-life images of the OPPO’s Smart Tag have been leaked online.

Leaker Digital Chat Station has posted the images of what he claims to be the Engineering Test version of the upcoming OPPO Smart Tag. The device appears in White color and another image shows the device has ‘Ultra Wide Band’ and ‘OPPO‘ written on it.

This further strengthens the reports of OPPO readying an object tracker to spoil the party of Apple and Samsung. What is more surprising is OPPO’s solution seems to be more environment-friendly than the rivals. This is because we see a Type-C port at the bottom.

This isn’t present on either the AirTag or the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+. Anyway, this suggests that OPPO may include a rechargeable battery inside its Smart Tag. To compare, the rivals promise a 1-year battery life on their respective object trackers but you cannot recharge them.

Although Apple has given the option of replacing the CR2032 battery on the AirTags, a rechargeable one might be a better and convenient option. Then again, we will have to wait and see if OPPO’s object tracker will have any kind of IP rating to protect it from getting damaged.

Talking about the features, UWB etched on the image indicates that the Smart Tag will help users accurately track the location of tags, and help you with directions better than the Bluetooth-only version. That said, we don’t see any provision for the lanyard hole just as we saw on the Galaxy SmartTag.

OPPO is holding a launch event on May 6 in China where it is expected to bring new Smart TV, OPPO K9, OPPO Enco Air, and a new OPPO Band. There are chances that the Smart Tag might debut on the same day but this is our guess so take it with a pinch of salt till we get official info on the same.

Samsung is preparing to launch the next Galaxy S series of Smartphones in January. Alongside the flagship, the company is also expected to launch a new Tracker. Today, 91Mobiles has spotted its real-life images courtesy of NCC Certification.

As per the report, a Samsung device appears on the NCC certification website. Its model number is “EI-T5300” and the moniker is “Galaxy SmartTag”. This corroborates with a EUIPO trademark filing which showed it as an Object tracker. And the name rhymes well like the rumored Apple AirTags.

Besides, a device with a similar model number has also passed Indonesia Telecom Certification. Hence, it is safe to say that it is indeed the upcoming Tile tracker-like Bluetooth tracking device from Samsung. Accordingly, the applicant is also listed as Taiwan Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., (Translated).

We have two sets of images. Although both have a circular ring at the center of the front, only one of them has a “Galaxy SmartTag” name. At the back, we have a Samsung branding. These images of the Black variant also remind us of a recent design reveal in Black and White color options.

Just like the early report, the images from this NCC listing also show a hole at one corner. As we said earlier, it could be for attaching a lanyard or any other strap as a grip. The circular ring on these supposed prototypes is like the early GIF image leak which depicted an animation of its Bluetooth functionality.

To quickly remind you, a Tracker is a device that relies on the Bluetooth Low-Energy technology. It has a battery in itself with which it is able to locate objects like Keys, wallets, remote, earbuds, Smartphones etc. The upcoming Samsung Tracker is also expected to have features like Bluetooth 5.1, UWB(Ultra Wide Band), interfacing with NFC, and RFID.

That said, Samsung is yet to officially reveal the other details of this SmartTag. It is expected to tag along the Galaxy S21 launch on January 14 and if true, we will know the pricing and availability in a couple of weeks.
